Rayong Botanical Garden 🏞️

Aka Tambon Chak Phong in local Thai language, it’s a magnificent piece of nature consists of swamps 🏞️🌳🪵 that can be explored by boat 🛥️ or mountain bikes 🚲

SiennyLovesDrawing & her travel mates has embarked on several motored boat 👩🏻🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏻👭🏻👬🏻👫🏻🛥️ (Each boat ideally for 5️⃣pax) to sightsee some of the highlights within this botanical garden

It includes a thousand-year Samed forest 🌳🌳, slow walking on a long bridge 🚶🏻‍♀️🌉 & a floating natural pier ⚓️

Visitors to this low carbon destination also can enjoy canoeing 🛶 after the boat ride sightseeing. It was a superb sunny 🔆😎 day, SiennyLovesDrawing joined a few of her travel mates to sit down, chit chatting & enjoyed the nice wind 🌬️🍃 instead of canoeing 😆

Actually it’s a grassland literally floats on water ~ With dominant blady grass (Its scientific name Imperata Cylindrica or “Ya Kha” in Thai language). It’s a piece of water carpet under foot 🦶 , soggy soft yet strong to support a person’s weight, safer to not have too many people stay together on the same spot, else it may be sinking in then

Boatman has prepared boots 👢 🥾✅ on boat 🛥️ for its visitors to borrow & wear to enjoy this unique experience. Highly recommended you all to try yourself, absolutely 💯👍🏻 amazing experience that you all have to self experience it ya 👍🏻

Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park

@siennylovesdrawing 👩🏻😍💗 is really in love with this #Thai #marinenationalpark in the Gulf of Thailand 🇹🇭 off the coastline of Rayong as the 34th #nationalpark of Thailand in 1981. Absolutely an unforgettable memories of all 💯

Yes ✅, it’s located on the Koh Samet island 🏝️& has a beautiful coastline, wooden bridge, glass bridge, wooden swings & hiking trails that offer great 👍🏻 views of the Gulf of Thailand, she really impressed with the beautiful ocean 🌊 view from her hike here

Not at all, it’s not a difficult hike at all, everyone at any age can just do it, do wear a pair of comfortable sports attire & shoes ya 👟💯👍🏻

She enjoys her slow walk trekking & chit chatting with her travel mates along the journey, then she got amazed with the stunning 😍🤩 beautiful eastern Rayong city’s vast blue sea 🌊 & Koh Samet from this most stunning viewpoint in Rayong of this Thai marine national park

Ohh ya….Not forgetting the strong wind 🌬️💨 here, it’s superb nice 😊 Guess what❓⁉️ She actually felt that the wind gonna blow her away literally & her travel mates were saying SiennyLovesDrawing, you’ve to eat more, lol 😆😂 In fact, she actually eat a lot especially breakfast time 😁😋

Sigh…She was all ready to learn her 1️⃣st surfing lesson here, but but she got her period from her clothes changing right before her surf lesson, though it’s okay still, however she just feels unpleasant & decided not to

Rayong old town “Yomjinda Road”

It’s the prettiest street in the area & it was built as the 1️⃣st street in Rayong at the old time, wow 😲

Once upon a time, Rayong residents used the Rayong River that flows through the city center. It’s the main river for trading & doing business. There was a shipyard business that using water transportation to transport goods up & down to various cities

Until the era Phra Sri Samut Phok (Im Yomjinda), the last ruler of Rayong has begun to build the 1️⃣st road to be parallel to the river called Yomjinda Road, which became the road that was the economic center of Rayong in the past. Built in 1917, this road has a Sino-Portuguese building with a decrepit wall that would make a nice background for portrait photos in landscape orientation & has been restored into a charming old town with teak buildings consisting of Chinese influence & a strip of quaint century-old houses

You’ll enjoy visiting the King Taksin Shrine, the City Pillar, Lum Mahachai Temple, Wat Pa Pradu, amazed with beautiful street art done by the local Thai talents, cafe hopping, exploring small museums (FB: https://www.facebook.com/people/บ้านสัตย์อุดม/100076653469563/) , art galleries etc.

Floating Pagoda ~ Phra Chedi Klang Nam

This pagoda was built in 1873 on an islet in the middle of the Rayong River by Phraya Sri Samut Pokchaiyachok Chitsongkram & it’s located just 2️⃣km south of Amphoe Muang. With part of Wat Pak Nam, the white ⚪ pagoda was built on an isle in the river, in fact very similar like a lighthouse & it’s 1️⃣ of the Rayong city’s most sacred site, until to date, the origin of the famous 🔟m floating pagoda remains a mystery

It measures 🔟m in height & is surrounded by thick mangrove forests 🌳 🌳 In the olden times, this pagoda was a landmark for people to let them know they had reached the Rayong precinct. Now many mentioned that all visitors to Rayong must visit here to prove themselves they’ve reached Rayong 😁

There is a trail along the mangrove forest 🌳 🌳 for its visitors to take a slow walk 🚶🏻‍♀️, or jogging 🏃🏻‍♀️👟 on the trail. Also a wooden bridge 🌉 to enjoy the sightseeing of the greenery surrounding here

Not just that, there is a huge crabs 🦀 condominium built for sustainability eco living here at the start of this bridge, an amazing surprise 👩🏻🤩  for SiennyLovesDrawing 

Each year during the full moon 🌕 day of the lunar calendar, the robe that envelops the pagoda is changed. The Loi Krathong Festival is celebrated here. The annual event of changing the robe for this pagoda named งานห่มผ้าพระเจดีย์กลางน้ำ in Thai language is held during the full moon night of the 12th lunar month, or in Nov. Yes ✅, the robe blanketing the pagoda in the middle of the Rayong River in Mueang District will be changed every year. The local Thai people here celebrating this event along with the Loi Krathong Festival with boat racing & local performances

When walking into the restaurant, SiennyLovesDrawing has 1️⃣st enjoyed walking through a small jungle with birds chirping & fish swimming in the small streams that leading the way into the restaurant 👩🏻🚶🏻‍♀️🌳🍽️ 

It’s a restaurant covered in a big jungle area, where all its guests will sit under trees & enjoy a fantastic view of beautiful lights in the trees around, also an amazing scenery with a lake & a mountain in the background. The food served here are excellent to enjoy

It’s a halal Thai seafood restaurant & coffee shop with fan & semi outdoor setting by the ocean 🌊 A prayer room is available for Muslims & with lots of electrical plugs available if its guests need to charge phones

Hmm… Personally, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 doesn’t enjoyed the slightly slower service here, especially a long wait for her fresh coconut drink to be served. She only got the coconut water after she finished her lunch 🍽️

Her travel mate shared that the restaurant staff actually got a monkey 🐒 to freshly pluck from the coconut tree 🌴& served to table, so then the delay

Cafe Hopping @ Rayong old town “Yomjinda Road”

After a long walk exploring Rayong old town, you’re recommended to take a rest & grab a drink at Slurp coffee ☕, ร้านเชย (FB: https://www.facebook.com/Choierayong/) or the many cafes along this street. Most of the cafes here offer Thai dishes & refreshing drinks, such as Thai tea, cocoa, coffee etc.

Some of them were in the old buildings that being preserved & resurrected into a vintage style coffee shops. Can enjoy snapping OOTDs at many Instagrammable photo corners ya 🤳📸

There are some actually hosting art exhibitions with many beautiful art paintings 🖌️🎨 from the local talented Thai artists

SiennyLovesDrawing & her travel mates went for a modern glass house alike 🆕 cafe named Slurp Coffee Specialist

It’s an open-air restaurant that serves Thai dishes by Chef, P Jamlong 👨🏻‍🍳 with beautiful decorated surrounding for your dining in pleasure 

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻😋 really indulge & enjoyed max the fluffy tasty steamed egg hot pot served here

Highly recommended it 👍🏻, yes ✅, in fact a must order 1️⃣ pot per pax, no sharing 😋💯

Also to enjoy crispy sea bass fish 🐟 dish with spicy dipping sauce dish named Krapong Song Jai, it’s so addictive tasty ti enjoy

Ohh ya…The softshell crab 🦀 dishes here so tasty good too, especially the curry fried & black pepper fried that SiennyLovesDrawing has tasted from her travel mates’ orders during this recent dining

Not just that, the dessert served here also very delicious 😋🤤 SiennyLovesDrawing enjoyed max the chewy glass jelly dessert, while some of her travel mates enjoyed the Thai milk tea with grass jelly

All foodie friends, do pay a visit to here, for sure all will enjoy a happy fresh seafood dining whether in its garden house, small huts 🛖 next to shrimp pond with some live music 🎵🎶

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing actually wishes to retire early, yes ✅, since she has graduated & starting to work 👩🏻‍💻, this is a life goal 🎯 that she is working on. It means good financial habits count, be discipline in your budget set, not wasting money unnecessarily etc. Some of her tips are reduce eating out, no unnecessarily phone upgrades, unnecessarily clothing & apparel shopping, not to opt for extended warranties & not to fall into emotional impulse shopping etc.

Apart from the major concern ie. Enough financial to support early retirement, the rule of thumb widely recognised is only withdraw 4% from retirement savings each year

Personally to her, “enough“ meant differently by each retirees, if you can be living on a lower budget that you’re comfortably adapting to, without any luxury elements, then your “enough” for early retirement surely more achievable, as compared to those that wish to enjoy a more luxury comfortable retirement life. So, a honest & reality self reflect is required to consider your retirement lifestyle, current or long term healthcare needs, living downsizing etc. ya 💪🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

The important factor that drives her to achieving early retirement is what she is gonna do to fill her time after retire. Once retired, it means literally you have extra hours of 9 to 5 on your own, no need answering to many bosses, hurray‼️ She knows herself well that she needs to keep her time occupied, she just can’t be doing nothing for a long time, she just can’t, lol 😆

Kampung Bukit Cherakah 🏡🏘🏡

Barongan Kuda Kepang performance

Kuda Kepang aka Flat Horse 🐴 is a traditional Javanese dance with a group of horsemen (as dancers) straddle a flat horse 🐴 Each Flat Horse was made with the braided strips of woven bamboo, then being painted & decorated colourfully

This dance portrays troops riding horses & incorporates trances. When dancers are in trance, they display extraordinary abilities as being possessed by animal spirits eg. monkey, snake, elephant, bird etc. Some of the horsemen will swallow glasses, climb trees, walk on hot burning charcoals etc.
