Yeah‼️ As an environmental friendly enthusiast, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 would like to remind all to “Let’s be plastic 🆓 & instead zero 0️⃣ plastic whenever we are” 🌎 This sharing is relating to her earlier blog stories via 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/?s=Plastic+
Yeah‼️ She has just participated the MY Earth Day Photo Contest hosted by U.S. Embassy 🇺🇲 Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the 54th anniversary of Earth Day on 22 Apr annually. Why not you all joining in too❓⁉️
This photo contest is focusing on combating plastic pollution by capturing photos of sustainable climate action in the Malaysian community that demonstrate each commitment to fighting plastic pollution & protecting Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 diverse ecosystems & communities
The United States 🇺🇲 is taking action to reduce both land & sea-based sources of pollution globally, including in partnership with Malaysia 🇺🇲🤝🏻🙌🏻🇲🇾
In fact, the simplest way to reduce plastic waste is to avoid unnecessary & single-use plastics, support businesses who are reducing plastic waste & re-use existing plastic. Say NO 🙅🏻♀️❌ to disposable plastic cutlery, plastic straws & other single-use plastics. Avoid plastics that cannot be recycled if other alternatives exist

Recycling ♻️ is an important part of the solution to ocean plastic pollution. After doing everything we can to reduce our use of single-use plastic, it is also important that we prevent the rest from escaping into the environment. Capturing plastic for recycling is a key way to do that, but we don’t do it enough
SiennyLovesDrawing is grateful 👩🏻🙏🏻 that this shopping mall 🏬 that she is visiting regularly within her community is hosting this initiative to boost ⬆️ the recycling plastic initiative by collecting plastic bottle caps & bottles
She has contributed some single use plastics into this giant metal crab 🦀 container to be forwarded to Subang Jaya City Council’s recycling ♻️ hub in USJ 1, Selangor, West Malaysia 🇲🇾💯👍🏻
Not just that as a travel lover, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻✅ also completed the course named “Targeting Zero 0️⃣ Plastics in Tourism Businesses – with UNESCO, PATA & Expedia Group” to continue learning more on combating plastics pollution
Reducing ⬇️ single-use plastics in tourism & hospitality businesses provides not only an opportunity to protect the destination’s ecosystems but also to support the local community & economy, as it is advocated throughout the online course 🧑🏻💻👨🏻💻👩🏻💻 This is because sourcing local products & using local resources & services in tourism offerings & activities reduces reliance on international supply chains as well as economic leakages. Moreover, local artisanal products are more likely to be made of natural, renewable materials than mass-produced ones
Despite reduced use of single use plastic, it’s important to address plastic waste & improve plastic recycling ♻️✅
So, let’s us all play our part to combat plastic pollution together for a greater living climate & environment 😁
