Hey 👋🏻 all, SiennyLovesDrawing has travelled to Perlis right after a short day trip travel from her touched down at Alor Setar, Kedah with Firefly Airlines ✈️🧡 as shared in her earlier blog story via 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2023/09/15/things-to-do-alor-setar-kedah-malaysia/
Tips 📌: You can now take MRT shuttle bus 🚌 no. T804 from Gate A of MRT Kwasa Sentral to reach Subang Airport ✈️, so easy convenient & hassle 🆓
As promised, this time SiennyLovesDrawing is gonna sharing with you all here about the many exciting fun things to do, especially nature & ecotourism #cuticutimalaysia at Perlis 🇲🇾 , let’s enjoy your long read here to find out more ya 😃😁
Ohh ya…Perlis is an up north state, in fact the northernmost of Malaysia 🇲🇾 & borderlands with Southern Thailand 🇹🇭 It’s approximately an hour drive from Alor Setar. You may bring along your passport to cross border 🛂 to travel to Thailand 🇹🇭 either before or after your Perlis trip, don’t forget to refer 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/category/travel-tourism/ for your trip planning ya 😃😁
Guess what❓⁉️
During her earlier Taiping, Perak trip, she was chit chatting with her long time friend from Tourism Malaysia, Mr Hasrizal Hamka 👨🏽💼 about his amazing fun family trip at Perlis & recommended SiennyLovesDrawing to visit it. Then, this media invitation & now, she is back from Perlis with this long blog story here
SiennyLovesDrawing now expressed her excitement, “Yeah‼️ I’m back from Perlis & enjoyed max my 3️⃣D2️⃣N there. Hmm…Just not enough, can’t wait to be back to Perlis, yes ✅, she will be back in Oct ya 👩🏻😃😁”
Places To Visit & Things To Do
Sunrise @ Viewpoint Wang Kelian 🌄
It’s a famous must visit destination to enjoy panoramic sunrise 🌄 view from height of 303m above sea level 🌊, best to reach here before 6.30am whenever in Perlis
Why famous❓⁉️
Many visitors come for its carpet cloud ☁️ ☁️ phenomenon while enjoying the cool breezy atmosphere up here especially if the day before with heavy rain 🌧️☔
Hmm…Sad that during SiennyLovesDrawing’s recent visit, there was no rain the day before, so obviously no carpet cloud & instead she enjoyed the beautiful egg yolk sunrise 🟠🌄😍🤩💯
It’s nice to enjoy fresh air, wind breezy 🌬️ & quite chilly 🥶🆒 up there early morning, so suggest to bring a jacket 🧥 along, especially for kids & elderly 👧🏻👦🏻🧒🏻🧓🏻👵🏻👴🏻
SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻😍💕 really in love with the comfy nice fresh air 🌬️ & stunning sunrise 🌄 with the beautiful mountains layering just like a huge watercolour painting backdrop 🏞️ Many enjoyed capturing lots of OOTDs here 📹📸🤳
Yes ✅, chasing sunrise 🌄 means need to wake up superb early. Hmm… It’s absolutely worth it from SiennyLovesDrawing’s own experience, highly recommended ya 💯👍🏻
Ohh ya…If you’re lucky 🍀, you may hear 👂🏻 & then perhaps able to view 👀 from far the Dusky Eagle Owl, 1️⃣ of the largest owl species in Malaysia 🇲🇾, in fact a small family of them🦉🦉🦉 on the trees 🌳🌳 You will note some birders & photographers set up their camera to capture them too 😍🤩💯
Tips 📌 : She has learnt from her friend, Mr Peter Ong ~ A wild life photographer during this trip that the male Dusky Eagle Owl is with a small pitch of white fur on top of both his ears. Curious❓⁉️ Check out more via 📸🌐 https://www.instagram.com/p/CwfGdA1prYX/
SiennyLovesDrawing as a nature lover 👩🏻💚 would like to share a little advice here, if you’re sharing about any wild life, flora & fauna spotted during your travel journeys on social media platforms, please avoid sharing the exact location details ❌📍to keep them safe from poaching
Hmm…The driving journey is an adventure as the road from the foothills to Wang Kelian viewpoint has many dizzying twists & turns, SiennyLovesDrawing suggests to close your eyes for a nap 💤😴 or to consider to consume motion pills 💊 if really needed ya
At its foothill, visitors can opt for buggy services 🚍 with fee of RM3️⃣/pax for round trip to go up to the viewpoint. Young kids & elderly 🧒🏻👧🏻👦🏻🧓🏻👵🏻👴🏻 can still go up without a worry. Alternatively, all visitors can enjoy slow walking 🚶🏻♀️for about 150m to this viewpoint
🆓 Parking 🅿️, admission fee is required,
- Malaysian: Adult is RM2️⃣/pax & below 18 years old is RM1️⃣/pax
- Non Malaysia: Adult is RM5️⃣/pax & below 18 years old is RM2️⃣/pax
SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has noted that there are some food stalls that serve Malaysian breakfast, so can enjoy hot bites or a hot cuppa ☕️ while indulge in beautiful panoramic views up high here at the viewpoint
However, she understands from the locals there only operates on weekends ya ☺️
While waiting for sunrise 🌄, you can enjoy stargazing 🔭 🌌 by using the SkyView app 📲 or other applicable app to read the stars, do check out her TikTok clip captured via 📹🌐 https://www.tiktok.com/@siennylovesdraw/video/7281599895713139969

Rock Climbing ⛰️🧗🏾♂️🧗🏻♀️ & Cave Exploring 🥾🔦 @ Keteri Limestone Hill
All visitors can drive up & parking 🅿️ OR to enjoy slow walk of 15mins through the paddy fields 🚶🏻♀️🌾 to reach to the foothills ⛰️It’s 131m high & the level of difficulty for its famous rock climbing ⛰️🧗🏾♂️🧗 activities on this hill is the most difficult in Asia 🌏 based on the Perlis Climbers. According to Ms Nat 🙋🏻, the authority has expanded the car park area at foothills here
Guess what❓⁉️
The climbing routes at this Bukit Keteri ⛰️ were discovered by the Mammut Expedition to Malaysia in 2007. It absolutely worth the climb here up till to reach “Pantai Timur Window” & “Belly Button Window” which offers a scenic view 😍🤩 of Bukit Keteri & its surroundings. At the peak, climbers will be well-rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding flat lands overlooking rice fields 🌾
Also it’s well known for its karst limestone formations, so many visitors are here for its cave exploring 🥾🔦 Its limestone tower is surrounded by rice fields 🌾 hence it offers a beautiful view from the top of this hill 😍🤩⛰️
Don’t forget to slow walk🚶🏻♀️inside the cave to enjoy the beautiful natural formation of limestones ya 😍🤩
Suggest to wear appropriate sports attire & shoes 👟 for the rock climbing & cave exploring activities here. Prior to start your climbing journey, all participants required to sign indemnity form ✍🏻, wear on safety gear & then paid attention to the safety guidance briefing from the instructor
Tips 📌: Don’t forget to do some warm up before the climbing ya 😁
Ohh ya…Be extra careful when coming down from the climbing route as it could be difficult to control your body balance & avoid being slipped
SiennyLovesDrawing was experienced a slip during her way down, luckily there is a first aid kit to antiseptic wipe in cleansing her small wound & apply a plaster 👩🏻😔
A special thanks to HerMission team (🌐 https://linktr.ee/hermission.house) that provided awesome 👍🏻 guidance & explanation during this climbing tour, SiennyLovesDrawing enjoyed it very much & highly recommended it 👩🏻💯 Do read on as she was with the same team to explore the Kelam Cave & Timah Tasoh Lake ya

Cave Exploring 🥾🔦 @ Kelam Cave 2️⃣
Aka Cave of Darkness, it’s 1️⃣ of the caves in Wang Mu Reserved Forest 🌳 🌳 which located in the Banjaran Nakawan which is the longest limestone stretch in Malaysia 🇲🇾 & extends all the way to neighborhood country, Thailand 🇹🇭
It’s a 370m long limestone cave without wind holes 🕳️/ gaps, so the oxygen & air in the middle of this cave is lower comparatively. Also it’s very dark without any holes 🕳️ to letting in any lighting 🔆, so do bring along your own headlamp/ torch light 🔦, walking in pairs with your friends 🧑🏻🤝🧑🏻👭🏻👫🏻 if you’re uncomfortable in a totally darkness 🖤 ya

Night walk @ Perlis State Park 🌌🚶🏻♀️🌳🌳
It’s established under the State Forestry Enactment (Amendment) 2001 with aims to preserve the unique biodiversity of flora & fauna found along the Banjaran Nakawan ie. The longest continuous range of limestone hills & unique semi-deciduous forest areas, as well as its tin mining history from 1800s to 1980s especially the mining ⛏️ techniques used using hydraulic & traditional pumps in Malaysia 🇲🇾
This park includes the Gua Kelam & Gua Wang Burma which are located within the 500 year-old Setul limestone formation. It also consists of 2️⃣ forest reserve areas 🌳🌳 ie. Mata Ayer Forest Reserve & Wang Mu Forest Reserve with a total area of about 5️⃣K hectares to protect, conserve, research, educate & recreation
The park is heavily trekking 🥾 by nature lovers, whether day or night trekking along the Prince of Denmark & Rainforest trails. You may opt to hike up to Gunung Perlis from here, however not for beautiful view after hike, you get to reach the border point to Hutan Simpanan Thaleban Thailand 🌳🌳🇹🇭 For safety reason, those intending to hike up to Gunung Perlis from here are required to obtain approval & authority permission from the Perlis State Park management & then to engage the services of a ranger or qualified guide ie. Malim Gunung Perhutanan via 🌐 https://www.forestry.gov.my/my/semenanjung-malaysia/taman-negeri-perlis

There is a small centre inside the park where they keep all the species collected, analysis & report etc. Hmm…Lots of leeches, in fact all forests 🌳 🌳 with it ya ☺️ Suggest to walk quietly in small group of 5pax, then slowly observe to spot some animals/ insects actively at night. Hmm… SiennyLovesDrawing was with a big group during this night walk & all applied lemongrass oil for leeches prevention, so not much that she spotted 😔 Do check out this TikTok clip captured 📹🌐 Tips 📌: For #nightwalk , always best to wear bright or reflective colour sports attire, so easy to be spotted by team members when emergency situations happen. SiennyLovesDrawing really enjoyed her happy tummy 😋🤤💯👍🏻 lunch here with friends, the gravy from the Gulai Ikan Temenung 🐟 so so tasty appetizing to enjoy with rice as well as with big fat “cakoi” dipping with it
The pandan kaya served with the “cakoi” also tasty sweet to enjoy. Highly recommended this local food place to you all when you’re at Perlis 💯👍🏻

Mat Rock Der Cafe
This seafood restaurant is located right in front beach 🏖️ & it has a wooden concept for both its exterior & interior. It’s a little low hence it’s hard for people to notice it
It serves a good variety 👍🏻 of fresh seafood dishes
Hmm…Apart from good foods served here, what really impressed SiennyLovesDrawing the most is they’ve creatively up cycled used washing machine as it’s hand washing sink for its restaurant guests, bravo 👏🏻💯👍🏻
