Recycling โป๏ธ is an important part of the solution to ocean plastic pollution. After doing everything we can to reduce our use of single-use plastic, it is also important that we prevent the rest from escaping into the environment. Capturing plastic for recycling is a key way to do that, but we don’t do it enough
SiennyLovesDrawing is grateful ๐ฉ๐ป๐๐ป that this shopping mall ๐ฌ that she is visiting regularly within her community is hosting this initiative to boost โฌ๏ธ the recycling plastic initiative by collecting plastic bottle caps & bottles
She has contributed some single use plastics into this giant metal crab ๐ฆ container to be forwarded to Subang Jaya City Councilโs recycling โป๏ธ hub in USJ 1, Selangor, West Malaysia ๐ฒ๐พ๐ฏ๐๐ป
Not just that as a travel lover, SiennyLovesDrawing ๐ฉ๐ปโ also completed the course named “Targeting Zero 0๏ธโฃ Plastics in Tourism Businesses โ with UNESCO, PATA & Expedia Group” to continue learning more on combating plastics pollution
Reducing โฌ๏ธ single-use plastics in tourism & hospitality businesses provides not only an opportunity to protect the destination’s ecosystems but also to support the local community & economy, as it is advocated throughout the online course ๐ง๐ปโ๐ป๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป This is because sourcing local products & using local resources & services in tourism offerings & activities reduces reliance on international supply chains as well as economic leakages. Moreover, local artisanal products are more likely to be made of natural, renewable materials than mass-produced ones
Despite reduced use of single use plastic, it’s important to address plastic waste & improve plastic recycling โป๏ธโ
So, let’s us all play our part to combat plastic pollution together for a greater living climate & environment ๐
