Dear Sabah Tourism,

Yes, Sienny Yong aka SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 would like to explore more about Sabah & Sarawak in the future which both made Malaysia owns the 25% of Borneo’s land. Borneo, the 3️⃣rd largest island 🏝️ in the world 🌎 & divided between 3 countries ie. Indonesia 🇮🇩 , Malaysia 🇲🇾 & Brunei 🇧🇳

Once upon a time…

Still recalled her 1️⃣st fly to Sabah was right after her university graduation 👩🏻‍🎓🎓 & as a graduation celebration 🎉🥳 trip to reward herself by opting for a hike to Mt Kinabalu (Mt KK) ⛰️ (aka Akinabalu by the local Sabahan people), it’s her 1️⃣st hiking 🥾 trip, also to explore Malaysia’s 1️⃣st heritage site, Kinabalu Park. Hmm…It was really long long ago & at that time she has got no social media platforms to show off her summit photo with her full colour certificate at that time 😃😁 She was hike up with Mesilau route, it’s with beautiful scenery, though slightly longer journey as compared to the route she opted to go down, Timpohon route, a stairs alike route & not comfortable for her tiring legs back then. Guess what❓⁉️ Her beautiful colour certificate is nicely kept in the safety deposit box with a local bank 🏦 now, 1️⃣ of her precious achievements in life ✨👍🏻

Then, her 2️⃣nd fly to Sabah was as a volunteer to collect & supply stationeries & teaching to some Bajau Laut kids at the rural sea nomad villages of Semporna Island 🏝️ Still recalled the chalet hotel that she stayed was being flooded due to a heavy rain 🌧️ storm & the rising level of sea 🌊 water at that time. She joined her other volunteers together with the chalet staffs to clean up the chalets surrounding. The pure hearts & smiles of the rural kids still warm kept in her heart ❤️ It was a memorable weeks spent with the local Sabahan kids & people, sure the kids have all grown up healthily now. Interactions with local people is what SiennyLovesDrawing enjoys & treasures the most, valuable juicy life stories, learning more about local living, cultures etc. Absolutely precious 💕

Things To Do @ Fukushima Prefecture

SiennyLovesDrawing loves train ride, so definitely she will enjoy a scenic railway ride on the Oku-Aizu Railway (Tadami Line) which offering fantastic views of the striking natural scenery 🚞✨, especially during autumn & winter seasons

Aizu region with historical sites eg. Tsuruga Castle & Nakadori, with mountainous natural landscapes 🏔️, orchards & hot springs ♨️, both have basin areas that remain warm in winter & mountainous areas with cool summers & snowy winters

.

Mugenkyo-no-Watashi River Crossing on the Tadami River via Japanese boat trip around 15mins per way & run between Hayato Onsen pier & the Mifuke area. This was named after the truly wondrous scenery created by the river mist in the mornings & evenings of summer

Tsuruga Castle 鶴ヶ城 🏯 was known for its strong defense, enduring for an entire month under the enemy’s attack during the 1868 war. It’s said to be the only castle in Japan that still has the same red-tiled roof from the time before it was demolished. At top floor, it offers a view of Mt. Bandai & Iimori Hill, also the townscape of Aizu. Ms Abe has recommended this castle as must visit during spring & autumn season

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 also read about this unique Buddhist temple built in 1796 named Sazaedo Temple 螺旋堂 ⛩️ (Aizu Sazae-do, officially named Entsusansou-do). It’s still standing strong now after about 220 years, this 3-story temple solely made of wood, looks like a spiral staircase shaped with its ingenious double-helix slope (It allows visitors to ascend & descend the temple structure without meeting those moving in the opposite direction) that makes it in National Important Cultural Property listing in 1995 & also was showcased in Michelin Green Guide in 2018. Visitors will observe a discontinued practice by local Japanese from the plastered family placards of visitors who completed pilgrimages to the temple & gave donations on the roof & walls of this temple. She would definitely visiting it when she is at Aizu-Wakamatsu City, Fukushima. More info via 🌐 http://sazaedo.jp/

.

Hanamiyama Park 🏞️ sets on the slopes of the hills to offers a plethora of cherry trees with many different hues of pink. Must enjoy the walking trails & exploring the recommended picture-taking spots during the sakura season, middle of April in Fukushima

Miharu Takizakura 三春滝桜 is ranked among the Japan’s “3 greatest cherry trees 🌸💮” ~ The Takizakura literally means “waterfall cherry tree” is 1 of the most popular single cherry trees in Japan. The wonderfully shaped weeping cherry tree in the hills of Miharu Town is said to be over 1000 years old

Bandai-Azuma Skyline (Nakadori) is 1 of selected Japan’s top 100 roads, a scenic driving 🚗 route stretches 28.7km to meandering through the Azuma mountain range, between Takayu Onsen & Tsuchiyu Toge Pass. The highlight of the drive is the Fudosawa Bridge 🌉 spanning over the Tsubakuro Valley, the view from the bridge is spectacular as if you’re floating in the sky

.

Tatsusawa Fudotaki Recreation Forest 🌳🌳 in the Tatsusawa Hot Spring village, a great place for an outdoor adventure in this rural setting ie. hiking, waterfalls, visit temples ⛩️, skiing ⛷️🎿, picnic, camping etc.

The Nagatoko is Shingu Kumano Shrine’s worship hall which is designated as a Nationally Important Cultural Asset. Built in 1055 as the main structure during the Heian period to the Kamakura period, its thatched roof is supported by 44 massive pillars, each one 45 cm in diameter. This comprises a single large, open stage with no walls, and is said to have been used for ascetic training by priests, as well as kagura dance festivals

Ouchi-juku大内宿 is a small village which is located in Aizu Wakamatsu, the west of Fukushima & famous for its beautiful snow ❄️🌨️❄️ scenery of the Japanese traditional houses village covered by snow in winter

.

Lake Inawashiro 猪苗代湖 is Japan’s 4th largest lake, highly transparent, also called “Tenkyoko” in reference to its “mirror-like lake that reflects the heaven. Visitors can enjoy lake bathing, fishing, canoeing etc. Ms Abe has recommended it as 1 of the destination to enjoy winter sports

Refired Not Retired Day To Live Life To The Fullest

Updated 6 March 2022, 12pm

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has recently read about how to celebrating Refired, Not Retired Day, 1st March annually, it’s as simple as reevaluating any of your ideas (If yet to have, can start exploring now 😃) of what it means to you to be retired. What have you got planned for the years after you retire or even retire early❓⁉️

Refired Not Retired Day is dedicated to all those people who have retired already OR about to get retired. During retirement period of life, live your life to the fullest, yes, just enjoy your life & make the most of these retirement years by doing things that you always wanted to do, as you finally got time to do all the things that you love to do. Read more via 🌐 https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/refired-not-retired-day/

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing actually wishes to retire early, yes ✅, since she has graduated & starting to work 👩🏻‍💻, this is a life goal 🎯 that she is working on. It means good financial habits count, be discipline in your budget set, not wasting money unnecessarily etc. Some of her tips are reduce eating out, no unnecessarily phone upgrades, unnecessarily clothing & apparel shopping, not to opt for extended warranties & not to fall into emotional impulse shopping etc.

“Planning to retire? Before you do find your hidden passion, do the thing that you have always wanted to do.” ~ By Catherine Pulsifer

Apart from the major concern ie. Enough financial to support early retirement, the rule of thumb widely recognised is only withdraw 4% from retirement savings each year

Personally to her, enough meant differently by each retirees, if you can be living on a lower budget that you’re comfortably adapting to, without any luxury elements, then your “enough” for early retirement surely more achievable, as compared to those that wish to enjoy a more luxury comfortable retirement life. So, a honest & reality self reflect is required to consider your retirement lifestyle, current or long term healthcare needs, living downsizing etc. ya 💪🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

The important factor that drives her to achieving early retirement is what she is gonna do to fill her time after retire. Once retired, it means literally you have extra hours of 9 to 5 on your own, no need answering to many bosses, hurray‼️ She knows herself well that she needs to keep her time occupied, she just can’t be doing nothing for a long time, she just can’t, lol 😆

Frankly, initially when she wishes to retire early, so she can backpacking around the world 🎒🌎, however with the global health pandemic now, she needs to pen down what she is gonna do instead before her long backpacking journey then

Let’s start to craft out an actual plan for your post-retirement years OR plan a fun bucket list that you can happily tick off after each exciting completion during your retirement

It’s just a new 🆕 beginning after your retirement, enjoy new 🆕 life for your own self. It’s a 2nd chance for all retirees to live life to its fullest to stay happy vital

In this sharing, SiennyLivesDrawing 👩🏻 is gonna sharing some pointers/ ideas of what to do to fill your time during retirement. It’s important to plan well to enjoy the max benefits of an early retirement 😃

What’s your answers to these questions❓⁉️

  • When you were a child, what did you love most? Isn’t it now the time that each of us remembered the simple joy of being a child?
  • Anything you wished you would have done? Not done?
  • Who matters to you?
  • If money were not a problem, what would you be doing now?
  • If tomorrow is your last day in life, will you have any regrets?

Healthy Living

Practicing healthy eats, do more home cooking or baking as you wish to enjoy your daily meals

Things To Do @ Iwate Prefecture

SiennyLovesDrawing has recently read online about the ONLY lone surviving tree 🌳 of the Takata Pine Forest from the Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami in 2011 in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture 🇯🇵🗾

This 250-year-old “miracle” pine is the only 1 among 70K trees left standing along the town’s coastline after the disaster. Actually it’s initially survived, but was removed last Sept after its roots died from exposure to saltwater

Now a reconstruction of it stands at its place. Some young pine trees are growing again along the city’s coastline 🗾 & thanks to the great 👍🏻 restore efforts

.

Mr Isrami has highly recommended Geibikei & must be one in the top list‼️ Geibikei is a gorge located in Ichinoseki area of Iwate. It’s with beautiful scenery of red, orange and yellow color of autumn leaves 🍁🍂🍁 on the cliff & both sides of the river during autumn with a boat 🛶 ride which steered by local Japanese. Easy 🚃 access by taking train to JR Geibikei station & walk for about 5 mins. More info via 🌐 http://www.geibikei.co.jp/en/index.html

.

For hiking 🥾⛰️ lovers , Mt. Iwate is the tallest mountain in Iwate prefecture. It is 2,038m tall & can be seen all the way from Aomori Perfecture. It gets snow before most of the other mountains & snow can been seen on it from Oct onward every year

.

Hachimantai, it’s a scenic spot in the Iwate Prefecture which shared by Ms Doris in her session. There is a mountain which stands at an altitude of 1,614m & straddles the Akita & Iwate prefectures, it has a plateau around it which has been designated as Towada Hachimantai National Park with seasonal flowers from spring to autumn & snowing in winter. Not to miss the Kagaminuma on the Hachimantai mountaintop promenade aka Dragon Eye when the snow melts from mid-May to mid-June. About 2 hours by bus from JR Morioka Station to Hachimantai & Kagaminuma

Hachimantai Aspite Line Snow Corridor is a 27km mountain sightseeing road that runs through Towada-Hachimantai National Park straddling Iwate & Akita. 1 of the best roads in Japan for a scenic drive with impressively high walls of snow on both sides. The snow walls which can reach a height of 6m. Note: It may be closed during winter due to heavy snow as shown via https://www.facebook.com/Visit.My.Japan/posts/1823397997811059

Ms Doris also recommends Jodogahama Beach aka “Pure Land Beach” which located within Sanriku Geopark in Iwate Prefecture. The clear blue water, white rocks & green pines actually listed in Japan’s 100 Best Beaches of Japan
The Koiwai Farm 小岩井農場 as recommended by Mr Isrami to visit for its Mt Iwate backdrop & a agrotourism destination in Iwate, Tohoku.
