Kwong Sup Ikan

She has enjoyed a big bowl of bitter gourd soup vermicelli with a mix of both fresh fish & fried fish slices as lunch here

The fresh fish slice is tasty to enjoy with a sense of fresh sweetness, while she is not to enjoy the fried fish slice, she prefers more dried fried, as she doesn’t really like the taste of flour coated on the fish slice. Just her own tasting preference ya ☺️

The bitter gourd soup base is slightly plain to her taste buds & not bitter. She would have preferred a thicker bitter taste soup base. She has tried a sip of the tomatoes soup 🍅🍲 base from her travel mate’s bowl, it tastes better as compared to bitter gourd

Malaysian sellers participating in Shopee’s 9.9 Super Shopping Day for the first time achieve over 5 times uplift in sales

Yeah‼️‼️ Do you all enjoy Shopee shopping 🛍️🛒🌐🧡 just like SiennyLovesDrawing  the recent 9.9 Super Shopping Day❓⁉️

Guess what❓⁉️

Health & Beauty and Home & Living categories proved popular, with most buyers coming from areas including Johor Bahru, Kuching & Kota Bharu

Shopee continues to offer more value and fun for shoppers and sellers during its 9.9 Super Shopping Day. The start of the End of Year Sale season concluded on a high, with local sellers in Malaysia who were participating in Shopee’s 9.9 Super Shopping Day for the first time achieving an average sales uplift of more than 5 times on 9 September, compared to a usual day.

Health & Beauty, Home & Living and Mobile & Accessories emerged as the top categories sold during the shopping festival’s peak day.

Interestingly, despite the recent announcement that face masks are no longer mandatory indoors except in certain situations, masks were still one of the most sought-after products on 9 September. Treats and snacks for cats and storage products such as folding boxes, cake boxes and paper bags also proved to be a hit among consumers. The latter may be a sign that local sellers are preparing for anticipated orders in the coming months.

Those living in Johor Bahru, Kinta, Seremban, Melaka Tengah, Kuching and Kota Bharu were busy checking out their shopping carts during 9 September. These locations registered the highest number of orders in the country, outside of Klang Valley.

Meanwhile, live streaming continued to provide enjoyable and interactive shopping experiences to users. Within the campaign period from 26 August till 9 September, Malaysian shoppers spent over 2 million hours watching streams on Shopee Live. Buyers also had fun while shopping, with a total of over 24 million game plays on Shopee Prizes during the same period.

ShopeePay was also a preferred payment method for checking out by users when purchasing items on Shopee during the 9.9 Super Shopping Day. Within the first two hours of 9 September, there was a 9-times uplift for orders paid using ShopeePay, compared to an average day in the previous year. In the last two years since the pandemic, users are likely more accustomed to paying using cashless payments methods like ShopeePay for ease of use as well as value in terms of rewards.

ShopeeFood since starting in November 2021 has helped many users to connect with merchants that are both big and small through the integrated platform offered by Shopee. Micro merchants especially benefit greatly from the ecosystem as the platform helps merchants to expand their businesses in the post-pandemic period by connecting them to a large base of online users available on the Shopee mobile app.

This is evident based on the Top Dishes ordered by users during the 9.9 Super Shopping Day. Across all the five locations (Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya, Johor, Penang, Sabah and Ipoh), most users took advantage of the great discounts and promotions to order their favourite local staples like Roti Canai, Satay and Nasi Ayam Penyet. Besides supporting local F&B merchants, users also ordered a high number of food items like Strawberry Chocolate Chip Almond Milk Frappe, Sushi, Matcha Boba Tea and Pasta based food items.

Kenneth Soh, Head of Marketing Campaigns at Shopee Malaysia said, We’re really humbled to play a small part to help local sellers on our platform achieve a significant level of sales uplift during the 9.9 Super Shopping Day. We can see that our marketing tools and seller engagement features are empowering MSMEs to capture significant growth opportunities in the digital economy. Shopee is looking forward to continuing boosting their sales during the year end, while enabling Malaysians to enjoy the best savings on our platform.”

Raising Conservation Awareness with WATER: A Musical

Yeah!! It’s September now, time flies : )

If you’ve been following SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻’s blog stories here, you would have read about her recent art collaboration with WWF Malaysia on tiger 🐅🐯 conservation, read more via 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2022/07/29/roar-for-life-eco-festival-in-conjunction-of-global-tiger-day-by-wwf-malaysia/

This round she 👩🏻 would like to share about her recent media attendance to witness the official media launch to raising greater conservation awareness with WATER 💦: A Musical 🎵🎶🎼 presented by Somerset Music & Mr Chin San Sooi 👴🏻

WATER 💦 is a musical 🎵🎶🎼 Tiger 🐅🐯 calls the animals for a meeting to discuss man’s act of deforestation which leads to the pollution of rivers. All the 7️⃣ animals affirm the sacredness of Mother Earth 🌍, ohh no no…🙅🏻‍♀️

Guess what❓⁉️

The musical 🎵🎶🎼 is interactive. The audience are invited to sing 🎤 & dance 🩰 together with the cast members, wow‼️ Absolutely gonna be an exciting & interesting musical experience with a meaningful conservation awareness raised, bravo‼️

It’s a collaboration 🤝🏻 between playwright/director, Mr Chin San Sooi 👴🏻 aka nickname in Mandarin 山水 Mountain Water, with music by Ms Joanne Poh 👩🏻‍💼 of Somerset Music, the audience can look forward to this 60mins of memorable cum interactive engagement with the cast members. Ms Joanne 👩🏻‍💼 & the cast members have proudly shared during the launch that the music is catchy & interactive for audiences to sing 🎤 & dance 🩰 along with all cast members during the musical play. Wow‼️ SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is looking forward toward it, how about you❓⁉️

Mr San Sooi 👴🏻 said at the official media launch of WATER at Warung Old China in Kuala Lumpur (KL), West Malaysia 🇲🇾, “I was contemplating writing a play on the topic of conservation when I read of the deforestation that was taking place at the National Park 🏞️🌳🌳 in Pahang, Malaysia 🇲🇾 many years ago. I was too earnest & the muse eluded me, till now.

When the covid lockdown began, Mr San Sooi 👴🏻 spent 4️⃣ very productive months occupied, with the end result of finishing 8️⃣ scripts: 2️⃣ satires, 3️⃣ musicals, 2️⃣ monologues & 1️⃣ operetta. So, that is how WATER 💦 : A Musical 🎵🎶🎼 is flowing out to the Malaysian audience in this post-covid environment

It’s really a privilege for SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 to be at this official media launch to hear directly from Mr San Sooi 👴🏻, Ms Joanne 👩🏻‍💼, Mr Khang Nanyao 👨🏻 & some cast members of their involvement & preparation of this musical play 🎵🎶🎼

Do check out her TikTok clip captured from her media attendance via 📹🌐

Mr San Sooi 👴🏻 continues to share that: “A musical 🎵🎶🎼 is more difficult to realise as it is very challenging to compose a piece of music 🎵🎶 to lyrics written by another person. I approached Joanne 👩🏻‍💼 to compose the music. Joanne in her own right is a piano teacher, runs a music school & has sung in choirs & performed on stage. I gave her a year to work on the music. I am glad that Joanne Poh took up the gauntlet with our 3️⃣ musicians.”

He 👴🏻 further explained to the media members that during the covid lockdown, he basically spent time on eat 😋, sleep 💤😴 & write ✍🏻, repeat almost the same daily & then produced this play 🎵🎶🎼 He always wanted to create something relating to pollution & conservation. He just sat down to write without any ideas, then this play materialized naturally. Bravo‼️

He 👴🏻 also admitted to the media members that personally, he is not good in music, not a single note. He understands the difficulty of composing music 🎵🎶 from play, so he spoke to Joanne 👩🏻‍💼, a music teacher, singer, pianist & more to invite her to compose music for this play. Joanne actually being modest & hesitant to Mr San Sooi’s invitation at the beginning, she managed to produce the music for this play after 1️⃣ year. Yeah‼️

Ms Joanne 👩🏻‍💼 then shared with the media that a total of 8️⃣ songs, each animals represent in each music. Why took a year❓⁉️ She was procrastinating at 1st, hence delaying it when she was invited by Mr San Sooi 👴🏻 To her, music 🎵🎶 actually comes when you don’t want it from her music experiences. She would like to have her music on how to connect with the audiences. Also to her, the animal’s gender in this play actually makes a difference in her music creation. It’s neutral & simple to looping mind 🧠 when connecting with music 🎵🎶 Even for children/ students 👦🏻👧🏻🧒🏻, to educate them on pollution & conservation through music 🎶🎵 Of course different for adults & teenagers will be also different. The children will come with adults (ie. Parents/ teachers) to the play, so using appropriate music 🎵🎶 to tight in the play script content is really important to connect with the audiences whether during or even out from the theater that the audiences still remembering the conservation messages from this musical play 🎵🎶🎼

She 👩🏻‍💼 further explained that she was hesitant to Mr San Sooi 👴🏻’s invitation at the beginning because it’s totally 🆕 to her to put music in this educational play. She was lacking of confidence with totally something 🆕 to her music experiences. She took a lot of courage because she understands well that this music from her needs to be put on stage for the public. At last, she decided to still give it a try. Yeah‼️ Ohh ya…Ms Joanne 👩🏻‍💼 also shared that she was at 1️⃣st worried about the generation gap with Mr San Sooi, 81 👴🏻 who is actually on par with her grand parents age. She appreciates the trust from Mr San Sooi with her to put tunes to his play script created. In fact, she has total freedom in her music creation to this play 👍🏻

WATER 💦 is a combined effort by us in an act of creativity with the members of the cast. The oldest cast member is 61 year old Hilda Looi 👩🏻‍🦱 & the youngest cast member is school girl, Kirsten Wong, 13 💁🏻‍♀️ Together with designer, Khang Nanyao, we have set the stage with the different cast of characters through head gear specially created headwear for Mousedeer 🦌, Tiger 🐯, Elephant 🐘, Monkey 🐵 & Wildboar/ Warthog 🐗 In a small but significant way, we hope that WATER 💦 : A Musical 🎵🎶🎼 would make people be more aware of the environment & treat it with respect & concern. The play could lead to larger issues like conservation of the seas & oceans 🌊,” added Mr San Sooi 👴🏻

Mr Khang Nanyao 👨🏻 shared during the official media launch that the animal’s head gears were all 3D printed for current edge trending technology. So, the weight of each is not heavy & does not spoil very fast. These head gear with PLA plastics is possible to recycle ♻️, but it may require special techniques to recycle them

Hmm…Importance of technology over the nature/ being environment friendly❓⁉️ Personally, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 as a go green 💚 person would think of using a more environmental friendly materials in producing the head gears would be more meaningful to this play on conservation initiative & awareness 💪🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

Mr Khang Nanyao 👨🏻 further explained to media members that he appreciates the trust from Mr San Sooi 👨🏻 as he has full control on the hear gear design, yes ✅, basically everything on his own ideas & no restrictions of head gear ideas for this play. It’s actually both the spiritual design with technology design at the same time. He did an open head helmet instead of a covered mask as requested by Mr San Sooi 👴🏻 His artwork more on live vs death ~ More scary side. Started making a difference in this play by adding in past & future elements to his head gear design. The cause & effect of humans made. To Mr San Sooi 👴🏻, the white side of the head gear signifies spiritual to him. It’s an interesting interpretation of the head gear created. It took average 4️⃣ days to produce a head gear of the animal, except 5️⃣ days for the elephant 🐘 head gear

One of the cast member, Madam Hilda Looi 👩🏻‍🦱 has shared that her 1️⃣st play was when she was in 18 yrs old & this musical play is her 2nd involvement as Elephant 1🐘 Being the oldest cast member in this musical play, she is looking forward to working with the younger generation. While the youngest cast member, Ms Kirsten Wong 💁🏻‍♀️ is not doing much acting before her involvement to this play as Monkey 1🐵 It’s really a good 🆕 experience to learn new things. While another cast member, Ricky – shared that it’s his 1️⃣st play as Elephant 2🐘 in this musical play & a lot more to learn

Mr San Sooi 👴🏻 has added at the end of the official media launch that all cast members will start the rehearsal of this musical play in early Sept. Ohh yes, it’s on going now, so your ticket booking & purchase surely motivating & boosting encouraging vibes to all the cast members ya 😀 Let’s support local Malaysian artists

The Environmental Protection Society Malaysia (EPSM) is excited with this musical 🎵🎶🎼 which highlights the growing consciousness in Malaysia 🇲🇾v& worldwide 🌍 on the protection of the environment & is pleased to support raising the animal conservation in a creative form

The musical 🎵🎶🎼 is also proudly supported by Warong Old China (The venue of official media launch), GTM Art & Stationery Suppliers, Yudimama & Little Heritage House

Environmental Awareness Trip at Pulau Ketam, Selangor, Malaysia

Hey 👋🏻 all, Happy 65th Malaysia National Day 💕🇲🇾💗

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 as a go green supporter this time gonna sharing with you all about her amazing eco & environmental awareness familiarisation (FAM) trip recently at Pulau Ketam 🦀🏝️, Selangor, Malaysia 🇲🇾

This 2️⃣D1️⃣N FAM trip was well organised 👍🏻 by Holiday Link Sdn Bhd & being supported by Tourism Selangor, Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated, Malaysian Inbound Tourism Association (MITA) & Majlis Pengurusan Komuniti Kampung (MPKK) Bagan Pulau Ketam

.

The trip 1️⃣st started with a meet up of all trip participants (Mostly tourism players, travel agents, travel companies & tour guide) & then departed from South Port Passenger Terminal, Port Klang for a speed boat 🛥️ ride with Huat Huat Speedboat of approximately 30mins to Pulau Ketam 🦀🏝

Safe arrival to Pulau Ketam, met & greeted with the tour guide from Pulau Ketam, Mr Loo & then captured a group photo 📸 @ KETAM signboard. All trip participants then left their luggage at Sea Lion Hotel for Pulau Ketam guided walking tour of approximately 3️⃣ hours

During this walking🚶🏻‍♀️tour, all trip participants get to explore the island’s local community & facilities ie. Balai Bomba 🚒🧑‍🚒 Sukarela, Government clinic of 💯 years old 🏥, police station, Maybank 🏧🏦, power station , temple ⛩️, 3️⃣ primary schools & 1️⃣ secondary school 🏫, the only 1️⃣ dried prawn processing factory on the island 🏝 , several seafood wholesalers, street wall art & many more

.

After the walking tour, all enjoyed tasty fresh seafood lunch served in Restoran Heng Heng Kopitiam 🍽️😋👍🏻

After lunch, met with Tok Chua Kim Lin, the President of Majlis Pengurusan Komuniti Kampung (MPKK) Bagan Pulau Ketam, Negeri Selangor. Tok Chua Kim Lin has encouraged all trip participants to organise more tours/ trips to visit to Pulau Ketam. During the met-up session, Mr. Kenny Ng, Vice President (VP) Inbound of MITA has suggested to Tok Chua Kim Lin to organise more cleaning & rubbish collection campaigns as rubbish are observed during the walking tour in Pulau Ketam & this may affect the potential tourism growth of this island to the tourists. This session ended with a tea time treat by MPKK Bagan Pulau Ketam @ Restoran Heng Heng Kopitiam 🍽️🥣🍤🥤😋👍🏻  as an appreciation to all trip participants

Checked in to Sea Lion Hotel 🏨🛏️, then the trip participants also get to enjoy an approximately 2️⃣ hours Pulau Ketam boat tour 🛥️ to visit the fish farm, Sg. Lima, eagle 🦅 feeding, dolphin (Yes , all so happy as seen some small dolphins 🐬🐬 from far), fish wall art & Mangrove Villa homestay inspection

All trip participants ended the day with a satisfied fresh seafood platter dinner at Restoran Jia Jia 🍽️😋👍🀼􎰊

The highlight of this trip that SiennyLovesDrawing really enjoyed personally is the visit & environmental awareness program at the Pulau Ketam Tzu Chi Environmental Protection Recycling Station (Tzu Chi) ♻️ which established since 25 Oct 2011 in Pulau Ketam 🦀🏝️

All trip participants get to participate in the local environmental awareness program with Tzu Chi volunteers. The program started with an introduction of Tzu Chi Association & their go green 💚♻️ efforts by Tzu Chi Association in Pulau Ketam to raise the environmental awareness. From this session, all trip participants got to know that the rubbish condition in Pulau Ketam 🦀🏝️ has been improved better since the go green awareness efforts by Tzu Chi to the local island residents here , of course it can be improved greater for a cleaner Pulau Ketam in near future for the local island residents as well as local & foreign visitors

.

Next, a warm up body session with a light aerobic exercise led by the Tzu Chi volunteers. Then, followed with a split of 2️⃣ groups trip participants for an outdoor activity to the nearby recycle collection station to assemble & classification of reusable resources, then collected all the reusable resources into the reusable fish nets & returned to Pulau Ketam Tzu Chi Environmental Protection Station ♻️

After the group photo 📸 session of all trip participants with the reusable resources collected, hand washing session & then the reusable resources processing explanation session by Tzu Chi volunteers. All trip participants get to understand the brief features of the processing & transferring reusable ♻️✅ resources by the different grade of plastics

It’s really not easy to do recycling 💚♻️, of course the 1️⃣st buy in of the local residents to willingly put in the reusable resources into the collection station set up. However, there are a minority of local residents that misused the collection station as another dustbin on the island 🙄

After the collection of reusable resources, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has learnt that lots of tedious works involved especially the separation of different parts of a plastic reusable resources collected. Other reusable resources collected are glass 🍾, boxes/ cardboard 📦, papers 🗞️, books 📚, CDs etc.

Guess what❓⁉️

Glass bottles 🍾🍾 can be recycled by using a special machine to crushing them into small glass pieces, then can be mixed into soil for plantation 🌱🌿🌳 purposes

Amazing learning gained 👍🏻

Yeah‼️ A yummy healthy vegetarian lunch 🍽️😋👍🏻 prepared by Tzu Chi volunteers as an appreciation to all trip participants for their visit & go green activity participation by all trip participants

All enjoyed the lunch happily 😃😁

.

The program is then followed by Q&A, as well as an experience sharing session. During the sharing session, Tzu Chi volunteers have encouraged all the trip participants to include an environmental awareness session in their tours or trips organised moving forward, so that more people will be encouraged to start their own go green habits respectively 💚♻️🌎

Ms Yap SC of Holiday Link Sdn Bhd, the trip organiser has shared her appreciation 🙏🏻💗 to all trip participants for their participation in this FAM trip & encouraged all trip participants to start organising similar environmental awareness tours/ trips moving forward

Ms Yik Thim of Tourism Selangor shared that her shopping habit now is too lazy to buy 🛍️ It means if she knows she will throw the item subsequently, she will not buy it now ❌🛍️ It’s a good way to reduce on 3️⃣R efforts. She has added that she does home cooking 🧑🏻‍🍳, so now she uses her kitchen waste / food waste from her daily home cooking preparation as home plant fertilizer. Then, her home plant 🌿🌱 will then grow as her own home cooking ingredients. Amazing way of being environmentally friendly 💚🌎

.

Ms Jennifer of Tzu Chi has added that parcels 📦 from online shopping actually causing lots of headache in Tzu Chi’s recycle efforts especially the sticking tape on the parcel 📦 box that the Tzu Chi volunteers have to remove the tapes from each parcel box 📦 during the process of recycling the reusable resources

Mr, Kenny Ng, VP Inbound of MITA has suggested to Tzu Chi volunteers to collaborate more with the associations outside of Pulau Ketam 🦀🏝️, also to start influencing the younger generations to educate them on 3️⃣R efforts ie. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle ♻️. Those can reuse or repair, don’t buy 🆕 one

At the end of this trip, many trip participants have agreed 💯👍🏻 to organise more eco & environmental awareness tours moving forward & start with own self 1️⃣st & then influencing people around on go green ♻️ habits ~ 3️⃣Rs for a better planet 🌎 to live in

Yes ✅, let’s all continue to do our part for a better living environment, each of us play an important role in go green efforts ya 💪🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

Do check out SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻‘s happy participation of this environmental recycling activities TikTok clip captured via 📹🌐

In addition, every 3️⃣rd Sunday of each month is designated as Tzu Chi Recycling Day nationwide in Malaysia 🇲🇾, so the public can just drop by any Tzu Chi Recycling Centre/ Point ♻️ to volunteer time in sorting out recyclables at the centre & safeguard the Earth 🌎 hand in hand, more details via 🌐 https://www.tzuchi.my/en/join-us/recycling-centres

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 would like to recommend this as an educational activity for our younger generation especially to impart environmental knowledge, raise environmental awareness & encourage all to protect our Mother Earth through practical actions ♻️👍🏻

Alternatively, if you’re a corporate or schools that would like to organise group visit with program etc. to Tzu Chi Recycling Centre ♻️, you may submit your application form to Tzu Chi for arrangement via 🌐 https://creatorapp.zohopublic.com/tcapps_tzuchi/mos/form-perma/Tzu_Chi_s_Caring_for_Community/CGrzWfhMDZyxNAvbT7GYfUuKv7mYa80zheU29OQyf1BPnreT91xXeznj3w89vVRtsDTTuJuG5qGCdRb6KwjqZZubxWM4ECHEp91u
