.

Things To Do @ Iwate Prefecture

SiennyLovesDrawing has recently read online about the ONLY lone surviving tree 🌳 of the Takata Pine Forest from the Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami in 2011 in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture 🇯🇵🗾

This 250-year-old “miracle” pine is the only 1 among 70K trees left standing along the town’s coastline after the disaster. Actually it’s initially survived, but was removed last Sept after its roots died from exposure to saltwater

Now a reconstruction of it stands at its place. Some young pine trees are growing again along the city’s coastline 🗾 & thanks to the great 👍🏻 restore efforts

.

Mr Isrami has highly recommended Geibikei & must be one in the top list‼️ Geibikei is a gorge located in Ichinoseki area of Iwate. It’s with beautiful scenery of red, orange and yellow color of autumn leaves 🍁🍂🍁 on the cliff & both sides of the river during autumn with a boat 🛶 ride which steered by local Japanese. Easy 🚃 access by taking train to JR Geibikei station & walk for about 5 mins. More info via 🌐 http://www.geibikei.co.jp/en/index.html

.

For hiking 🥾⛰️ lovers , Mt. Iwate is the tallest mountain in Iwate prefecture. It is 2,038m tall & can be seen all the way from Aomori Perfecture. It gets snow before most of the other mountains & snow can been seen on it from Oct onward every year

Ms Doris has recommended Hiraizumi for Chuson-ji Buddhist Temple listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s a place not to be missed when visiting Iwate @ Tohoku, Japan. More info via http://www.chusonji.or.jp/en/ . Also to visit the Motsuji Temple which possess 1 of the few remaining Pure Land Gardens in Japan, ie. a popular garden style in ancient times & attempting to recreate the Buddhist concept of the Pure Land or “Buddhist Paradise”. More info via http://hiraizumi.or.jp/en/archive/sightseeing/motsuji.html

.

Hachimantai, it’s a scenic spot in the Iwate Prefecture which shared by Ms Doris in her session. There is a mountain which stands at an altitude of 1,614m & straddles the Akita & Iwate prefectures, it has a plateau around it which has been designated as Towada Hachimantai National Park with seasonal flowers from spring to autumn & snowing in winter. Not to miss the Kagaminuma on the Hachimantai mountaintop promenade aka Dragon Eye when the snow melts from mid-May to mid-June. About 2 hours by bus from JR Morioka Station to Hachimantai & Kagaminuma

Hachimantai Aspite Line Snow Corridor is a 27km mountain sightseeing road that runs through Towada-Hachimantai National Park straddling Iwate & Akita. 1 of the best roads in Japan for a scenic drive with impressively high walls of snow on both sides. The snow walls which can reach a height of 6m. Note: It may be closed during winter due to heavy snow as shown via https://www.facebook.com/Visit.My.Japan/posts/1823397997811059

Ms Doris also recommends Jodogahama Beach aka “Pure Land Beach” which located within Sanriku Geopark in Iwate Prefecture. The clear blue water, white rocks & green pines actually listed in Japan’s 100 Best Beaches of Japan
The Koiwai Farm 小岩井農場 as recommended by Mr Isrami to visit for its Mt Iwate backdrop & a agrotourism destination in Iwate, Tohoku. A 3000-hectare private farm since 1891 located scenically at the base of Mt. Iwate & is most famous for its dairy products ie. milk, cheese, yogurt, milk ramen etc. Must visit the museum in Kamimaru Cowshed area to learn about the 125 years of Koiwai Farm history. Must enjoy a ride on the horse tram about 10 mins that has been used for 50 years since 1904 for sightseeing, see sheep grazing on pastures & the view of the beautiful 100 years supervised forest. Also can enjoy a dairy barn shuttle too. More info via https://www.koiwai.co.jp/makiba/en/

Saloma Link Bridge ~ Insta-Worthy Tourist Spot @ Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This actually relating to SiennyLovesDrawing’s 👩🏻 earlier blogging 👩🏻‍💻📝 via 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2020/05/19/things-cant-wait-to-do-after-the-end-of-covid19-lockdown/

Yes ✅, she wishes to enjoy holidays within her own living city 🌆🏙/ home country 🚗🚌🇲🇾

Yeah‼️ Have you heard about an instagrammable attraction 📍 in Kuala Lumpur (KL), the capital city 🌆🏙 of Malaysia 🇲🇾❓⁉️

She 👩🏻 has 1️⃣st visited it from her earlier participation ✅ as media team for Kuala Lumpur 🌆🏙 What’s Fun trip❓⁉️😃😉

It was before Malaysia 🇲🇾 ‘s Movement Control Order (MCO) even started though…

She 👩🏻 is gonna sharing 👩🏻‍💻📝aboutthis instagrammable bridge 🌉named Pintasan Saloma in Malaysia 🇲🇾 ‘s national language aka Saloma Link Bridge 🌉

Guess what❓⁉️

It’s now the longest single span steel structure elevated walkway 🌉 in Malaysia 🇲🇾 The orientation of its floor finishes along the walkway is facing the Qibla (Read more via 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qibla) to create continuity ↔️ between the Pintasan Saloma & Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery Park

Surely all of you have viewed lots of beautiful 😍🤩captures 📸📹🎥 & news sharing about it whether from the main media 🗞📰 or online social platforms 📱🖥👩🏻‍💻👨🏻‍💻

Yes ✅, this Saloma Link with its main structure i.e. A covered elevated steel pedestrian bridge 🌉 already launched for public visit since 5 Feb 2020 in the city 🌆🏙 which commissioned by Kampong Bharu Development Corporation (PKB) 😀

It stretches 370m & span across the AKLEH Highway 🛣 & Klang River of 69m long. Its curved steel roof canopy houses the with 4.1K diamond facade panels & equipped with LED lights💡💡which brightly-lit up at night 🌃🌌 The state-of-the-art lighting actually changing the light colours from time to time to creating amazing images for public to enjoy their walking 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️ & capturing unique moments with it 📸📹🎥

Yes ✅, another iconic landmark 📍 in  of Malaysia 🇲🇾 This beautiful 😍🤩 pedestrian bridge 🌉 connects ↔️ between Kampong Baru & Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) just 7️⃣mins walking 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️distance as compared to 30mins in the past, from Jalan Sungai Baru to Jalan Saloma (reason of its name) & expanding over Klang River

A seamless pedestrian connectivity ↔️ between both the old & new 🆕 worlds of KL 🌆🏙, a mere distance from the Kampung Baru LRT 🚉 The construction of this bridge took 1.5 years to complete with cost 💰 of RM31mil (approximately USD7.5mil), including its consultancy cost

The bridge’s architecture is inspired by the Sirih Junjung in Malaysia  🇲🇾‘s national language aka Betel Leaf concept, a must in traditional Malay wedding ceremonies 🎉🎊 as a symbol of unity among the Malay community. Also its design slightly similar to Bridge of Peace, a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge 🌉 with steel & glass construction over the Kura River at in downtown Tbilisi, capital of Georgia 🇬🇪, read more via 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_of_Peace

Personally SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 recommends to visit this bridge 🌉 for both day time 🌆 & night time 🏙 for a different photo/ video 📸📹🎥 capturing fun & effects pleasure. Hmm…Please note that this link bridge 🌉 is not ❌ open for 24 hours. Operation hours 🕔 as shared at the bottom of this post 📌

She 👩🏻would like to reminding public, both Malaysians & foreign visitors 👫👭👬 to maintaining the cleanliness 🚮of this bridge, perhaps by not ❌ having any snacks/ beverages 🍟🌯🍿🥤 while visiting this link bridge

Let’s all of us be a responsible traveller whenever & wherever we are 😊

Ohh ya…Not just that, this bridge also aims for healthy lifestyle in the city 🌆🏙, it’s promoting walkability within the city 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️

#COVID19 #Coronavirus Outbreak ~ Travel Not??

Updated 8 June 2020, 10am

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 as travel lover 💗 really curious 🤔

“Do you still continue your travel plans now due to the increasing ⬆️ concern of COVID-19❓⁉️ Even now with the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) for Malaysians❓⁉️

COVID-19 has already reached more than 💯K cases worldwide 🗺 🌍 according to World Health Organization (WHO)‼️ Most of the countries even exercised travel bans & restrictions ❌⛔️

WHO has declared COVID-19 as a pandemic @ 12 March 2020

Ohh no…There are many major events around the world 🗺🌍 have unfortunately been called off OR postponed to a later date because of COVID-19 pandemic

This included the cancellation ❌ of ITB Berlin 2020 ~ 1️⃣ of the largest travel exhibition, 1️⃣st time in the history 😔

The list of cancellation/ postpone running events via 🌐 https://toughasia.com/covid-19-chaos-race-cancelled-or-postponed/

Even with the many attractive ⬇️ flight fares & tour packages in the worldwide 🗺 🌍 market now❓⁉️

As travel lovers 💗💗, do you still planning your next trips❓⁉️

She 👩🏻 has read & personally trust that there are people 👫👭👬 still travelling to enjoying no ❌ queue at airport check-in counters/ imigresen counters & quiet planes ✈️ now

Also some travellers are NOT ❌ willing to forfeit payments made for travel & hotel bookings, leave cancellation & decided to just carry on with their holiday plans 😎

Hmm…Personally she 👩🏻 thinks that not to miss some of the flight sales now as the travel period till next year, 2021. By then surely no more COVID-19 by then, yes ✅, be optimistic & positive 😃😁

Just sharing her personal thoughts 💭 towards COVID-19 as travel lover 💗 Do continue reading 📖 till the end to find out “So, how about SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻❓⁉️ Does she travel now❓⁉️”

1. Reliable & latest COVID-19 updates

Keep yourself updated with the reliable COVID-19 daily updates i.e. WHO, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), local health ministries (e.g. Malaysia 🇲🇾 Ministry of Health) etc.

Refer below the daily COVID-19 status from Malaysia 🇲🇾 Ministry of Health FB page, as of this blog posting being updated @ 7 June 2020

Do check out daily COVID-19 updates in Malaysia 🇲🇾via 🌐 https://newslab.malaysiakini.com/covid-19/en

Also the reliable news 🗞📰 channels i.e. British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC News), CNN International, local news / radio 📻 channels etc.

2. Travel destination

If your travel destination📍is already with major travel warnings/ restrictions & having “widespread sustained (ongoing) transmission”, then the answer may be easy ~ CANCEL your travel plan

As at this blog post posted @ 10 March 2020, China 🇨🇳 , South Korea 🇰🇷 , Iran 🇮🇷 & Italy 🇮🇹 are the high ⬆️ risk countries i.e. with Level 3️⃣ Travel Notice Warning ~ Avoid Nonessential Travel from CDC

For other countries, you may then decide whether necessary & must travel during this period of time OR to reshedule/ postpone 🗓 the trip

3. Travel modes

Do you travel to your next destination with plane ✈️, bus 🚌, car 🚗, taxi 🚕, rail 🚂, cruise 🚢 etc.??

Travel with plane ✈️ currently as high ⬆️ risk mode of travel. If you do need to plan air travel, suggest to stick with those airlines that have more flexible cancellation & flight change policies 😊

Not just that travel with cruise 🚢 also not ❌ advisable due to the serious COVID-19 affected cruise cases being reported 🗞📰

4. Travel essentials

Rental pocket wifi 📶 is an useful item 👍🏻 to stay connected during your trips for latest COVID19 updates 😃

Standard travel insurance policies usually do not ❌ cover trip cancellations because people have a “fear of traveling”

COVID-19 is now well-known around the globe 🗺🌍 , hence mostly all insurance providers consider COVID-19 as a “forseeable impact on travel” & exclude it from coverage in most of all travel insurance policies, unless you have bought 1️⃣ before Jan 2020

Not to worry, do consider to upgrade your life & medical insurance policies 😉

She 👩🏻 has now added ➕face mask 😷, hand 🖐🏻 sanitiser, multivitamins 💊 etc. into her backpack 🎒

5. Self protection pre, during & post travelling

Keeping fit & strengthen own immune system. Do practise good 👍🏻 hygiene to self protect against any infections

Always carry your own cutlery 🍴🥢& reusable water bottle while travelling 🧳🎒

Also to avoid eating raw 🐟🦀🦞🦐🦑🐙 or undercooked food when travelling abroad. Not ❌ to visit any wet markets where animals are slaughtered, dressed/ butchered 🔪

Do try to avoid shake hands 🤝 / welcoming hugs 🤗 /  kissing 😙 lips/ cheeks/ hands when meeting people 👫👭👬 during travel journeys

Instead change to another polite greeting style, time to show what we have learnt from the diversity culture across the globe 🗺🌍

Let’s wave 👋🏻, nod & a bow OR a Namaste 🙏🏻 greeting

Do enjoy this creative Corona song, truly inspired for COVID19 prevention ya

Ohh ya…Each of us can now perform own self assess yourself via 🌐 https://www.doctoroncall.com.my/coronavirus/how-to-find-out-if-i-have-coronavirus-online-test

In case of symptoms suggestive of acute respiratory illness 🤒 before, during or after the trips, all travellers 👭👬👫 are encouraged to seek medical attention & share own travel history with the medical cum healthcare provider 👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️

6. Be a responsible traveller

Highly recommend 👆🏻you all not ❌ to simply sharing any unverified messages, voice messages, WA messages, emails received etc.

Yes ✅, not to add unnecessary confusion to an already difficult situation

Stay alert & be mindful that only to trust the news gained from verified reliable news providers 🗞📰

Please note that you may be charged for spreading fake news, including through social media channels if being caught by your respective local territories 👮🏻‍♂️👮🏻‍♀️ then

How about SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻❓⁉️ Does she travel now❓⁉️

She 👩🏻 has actually decided not ❌ to participate 2️⃣ media trips within Asia 🌎 that she has been invited since 15 March 2020 📧

Yes ✅, she 👩🏻 does think twice before she on board her trips now due to COVID-19. She can’t be selfish & only thinking about her travel love 💗 She still had her loved ones (especially her mama 🧓🏻 after late papa 👴🏻 recent passed away) who will worry if she insists to still travel due to current COVID-19 threat

Instead, she 👩🏻 suggests to exploring own living city 🌆🏙 to ease your travel bugs & you may be surprised that many awesome places near you actually, as well as within states in her home country

Yes ✅, she 👩🏻 has been sharing 👩🏻‍💻📝 a lot more about Kuala Lumpur, her living city 🌆🏙 in her recent blog posts

Let’s be a responsible traveller & take care of own self to enjoy exploring the world 🗺 🌍 , of course including your home country

ONLY IF she 👩🏻 is an orphan, her thinking would be different. She will not care & now surely on long leave, grabbing all great 👍🏻flight deals to exploring the world 🗺 🌍 Life is too short not to travel & gain more life experiences, don’t you agree❓⁉️

Currently, she 👩🏻 is busy reading travel blogs, travel online magazines, noting down 📝 travel details & then planning for her future travel trips from her to-travel list, yes, a good 👍🏻 way to ease her travel bugs…Lol…🤣😆

Sharing is caring, do check out the list above to enjoy 12 museum virtual tours across the globe 🗺 🌍 ya

Lastly, she 👩🏻 wishes that COVID-19 will be under control very very soon & everything return to normal, the usual crowd in public transportation, on the road etc. At least, the RMCO just announced from 10 June till 31 August in Malaysia

Petaling Street ~ Chinatown KL, Malaysia

Yeah‼️ SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is gonna sharing 👩🏻‍💻📝 her recent visit with media friends to Petaling Street aka Chinatown ⛩ in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia 🇲🇾

Chinatown ⛩ was founded since 1857 with its expanded inhabitants population, the Chinese community 👭👬👫 around the commercial centre around Petaling Street. Petaling Street or famously called in Cantonese dialect “Chee Cheong Kai” is a bazaar with a wide selections of food stalls 🥘🍛🍜 & souvenirs 🛒🛍🎁 stalls. Most of the stalls operate from 🔟am till late night 🌃🌌

She 👩🏻 used to have her secondary after school tuition 📖✍🏻 at this area back then. She has recalled some of her old memories 💭 , especially her favourite iced longan drink 🥤 & fresh tau foo fa aka douhua with soya milk 🥛 stalls

Her mama 👵🏻 used to drop by the fried chesnuts 🌰 stall to pack for her grandma 🧓🏻 before her whole family 👭👫👬 was travelling back 🚘🚗 to her mama🧓🏻’s hometown for festive celebration 🎉🎊

Also her grandma 🧓🏻 loves ❤️ to wear the wooden clogs 👡 木屐, she wore as normal sandals, not just for toilet 🚽 though. She still recalled she loves ❤️ to wear, walk 🚶🏻‍♀️around & play with her grandma 🧓🏻 wooden clogs 👡 when she was a kid 🧒🏻 Just because of the clogs 👡 sound hitting on the ground 👣 “kick kok….kick kok…” Ha…Ha…😂🤣😆
