Things To Do @ Fukushima Prefecture

SiennyLovesDrawing loves train ride, so definitely she will enjoy a scenic railway ride on the Oku-Aizu Railway (Tadami Line) which offering fantastic views of the striking natural scenery ๐Ÿšžโœจ, especially during autumn & winter seasons

Aizu region with historical sites eg. Tsuruga Castle & Nakadori, with mountainous natural landscapes ๐Ÿ”๏ธ, orchards & hot springs โ™จ๏ธ, both have basin areas that remain warm in winter & mountainous areas with cool summers & snowy winters

.

Mugenkyo-no-Watashi River Crossing on the Tadami River via Japanese boat trip around 15mins per way & run between Hayato Onsen pier & the Mifuke area. This was named after the truly wondrous scenery created by the river mist in the mornings & evenings of summer

Tsuruga Castle ้ถดใƒถๅŸŽ ๐Ÿฏ was known for its strong defense, enduring for an entire month under the enemy’s attack during the 1868 war. It’s said to be the only castle in Japan that still has the same red-tiled roof from the time before it was demolished. At top floor, it offers a view of Mt. Bandai & Iimori Hill, also the townscape of Aizu. Ms Abe has recommended this castle as must visit during spring & autumn season

SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป also read about this unique Buddhist temple built in 1796 named Sazaedo Temple ่žบๆ—‹ๅ ‚ โ›ฉ๏ธ (Aizu Sazae-do, officially named Entsusansou-do). It’s still standing strong now after about 220 years, this 3-story temple solely made of wood, looks like a spiral staircase shaped with its ingenious double-helix slope (It allows visitors to ascend & descend the temple structure without meeting those moving in the opposite direction) that makes it in National Important Cultural Property listing in 1995 & also was showcased in Michelin Green Guide in 2018. Visitors will observe a discontinued practice by local Japanese from the plastered family placards of visitors who completed pilgrimages to the temple & gave donations on the roof & walls of this temple. She would definitely visiting it when she is at Aizu-Wakamatsu City, Fukushima. More info via ๐ŸŒ http://sazaedo.jp/

.

Hanamiyama Park ๐Ÿž๏ธ sets on the slopes of the hills to offers a plethora of cherry trees with many different hues of pink. Must enjoy the walking trails & exploring the recommended picture-taking spots during the sakura season, middle of April in Fukushima

Miharu Takizakura ไธ‰ๆ˜ฅๆปๆกœ is ranked among the Japan’s “3 greatest cherry trees ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’ฎ” ~ The Takizakura literally means “waterfall cherry tree” is 1 of the most popular single cherry trees in Japan. The wonderfully shaped weeping cherry tree in the hills of Miharu Town is said to be over 1000 years old

Bandai-Azuma Skyline (Nakadori) is 1 of selected Japanโ€™s top 100 roads, a scenic driving ๐Ÿš— route stretches 28.7km to meandering through the Azuma mountain range, between Takayu Onsen & Tsuchiyu Toge Pass. The highlight of the drive is the Fudosawa Bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ spanning over the Tsubakuro Valley, the view from the bridge is spectacular as if you’re floating in the sky

.

Tatsusawa Fudotaki Recreation Forest ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ in the Tatsusawa Hot Spring village, a great place for an outdoor adventure in this rural setting ie. hiking, waterfalls, visit temples โ›ฉ๏ธ, skiing โ›ท๏ธ๐ŸŽฟ, picnic, camping etc.

The Nagatoko is Shingu Kumano Shrine’s worship hall which is designated as a Nationally Important Cultural Asset. Built in 1055 as the main structure during the Heian period to the Kamakura period, its thatched roof is supported by 44 massive pillars, each one 45 cm in diameter. This comprises a single large, open stage with no walls, and is said to have been used for ascetic training by priests, as well as kagura dance festivals

Ouchi-jukuๅคงๅ†…ๅฎฟ is a small village which is located in Aizu Wakamatsu, the west of Fukushima & famous for its beautiful snow โ„๏ธ๐ŸŒจ๏ธโ„๏ธ scenery of the Japanese traditional houses village covered by snow in winter

.

Lake Inawashiro ็Œช่‹—ไปฃๆน– is Japanโ€™s 4th largest lake, highly transparent, also called โ€œTenkyokoโ€ in reference to its โ€œmirror-like lake that reflects the heaven. Visitors can enjoy lake bathing, fishing, canoeing etc. Ms Abe has recommended it as 1 of the destination to enjoy winter sports

A long-established sake ๐Ÿถ brewery named Toyokuni Brewery ่ฑŠๅ›ฝ้…’้€ , which started its sake brewery business in the Edo period (200 years ago) made from regional rice ๐Ÿš๐ŸŒพ that local farmers grow in Fukushima & its sake has won a variety of awards ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ…๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

Refired Not Retired Day To Live Life To The Fullest

Updated 6 March 2022, 12pm

SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has recently read about how to celebrating Refired, Not Retired Day, 1st March annually, it’s as simple as reevaluating any of your ideas (If yet to have, can start exploring now ๐Ÿ˜ƒ) of what it means to you to be retired. What have you got planned for the years after you retire or even retire earlyโ“โ‰๏ธ

Refired Not Retired Day is dedicated to all those people who have retired already OR about to get retired. During retirement period of life, live your life to the fullest, yes, just enjoy your life & make the most of these retirement years by doing things that you always wanted to do, as you finally got time to do all the things that you love to do. Read more via ๐ŸŒ https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/refired-not-retired-day/

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing actually wishes to retire early, yes โœ…, since she has graduated & starting to work ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป, this is a life goal ๐ŸŽฏ that she is working on. It means good financial habits count, be discipline in your budget set, not wasting money unnecessarily etc. Some of her tips are reduce eating out, no unnecessarily phone upgrades, unnecessarily clothing & apparel shopping, not to opt for extended warranties & not to fall into emotional impulse shopping etc.

โ€œPlanning to retire? Before you do find your hidden passion, do the thing that you have always wanted to do.โ€ ~ By Catherine Pulsifer

Apart from the major concern ie. Enough financial to support early retirement, the rule of thumb widely recognised is only withdraw 4% from retirement savings each year

Personally to her, enough meant differently by each retirees, if you can be living on a lower budget that you’re comfortably adapting to, without any luxury elements, then your “enough” for early retirement surely more achievable, as compared to those that wish to enjoy a more luxury comfortable retirement life. So, a honest & reality self reflect is required to consider your retirement lifestyle, current or long term healthcare needs, living downsizing etc. ya ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The important factor that drives her to achieving early retirement is what she is gonna do to fill her time after retire. Once retired, it means literally you have extra hours of 9 to 5 on your own, no need answering to many bosses, hurrayโ€ผ๏ธ She knows herself well that she needs to keep her time occupied, she just can’t be doing nothing for a long time, she just can’t, lol ๐Ÿ˜†

Frankly, initially when she wishes to retire early, so she can backpacking around the world ๐ŸŽ’๐ŸŒŽ, however with the global health pandemic now, she needs to pen down what she is gonna do instead before her long backpacking journey then

Let’s start to craft out an actual plan for your post-retirement years OR plan a fun bucket list that you can happily tick off after each exciting completion during your retirement

It’s just a new ๐Ÿ†• beginning after your retirement, enjoy new ๐Ÿ†• life for your own self. It’s a 2nd chance for all retirees to live life to its fullest to stay happy vital

In this sharing, SiennyLivesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป is gonna sharing some pointers/ ideas of what to do to fill your time during retirement. It’s important to plan well to enjoy the max benefits of an early retirement ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

What’s your answers to these questionsโ“โ‰๏ธ

  • When you were a child, what did you love most? Isnโ€™t it now the time that each of us remembered the simple joy of being a child?
  • Anything you wished you would have done? Not done?
  • Who matters to you?
  • If money were not a problem, what would you be doing now?
  • If tomorrow is your last day in life, will you have any regrets?

SiennyLovesDrawing has recently read online about the ONLY lone surviving tree ๐ŸŒณ of the Takata Pine Forest from the Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami in 2011 in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ—พ

This 250-year-old “miracle” pine is the only 1 among 70K trees left standing along the town’s coastline after the disaster. Actually it’s initially survived, but was removed last Sept after its roots died from exposure to saltwater

Now a reconstruction of it stands at its place. Some young pine trees are growing again along the city’s coastline ๐Ÿ—พ & thanks to the great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป restore efforts

.

Mr Isrami has highly recommended Geibikei & must be one in the top listโ€ผ๏ธ Geibikei is a gorge located in Ichinoseki area of Iwate. It’s with beautiful scenery of red, orange and yellow color of autumn leaves ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ on the cliff & both sides of the river during autumn with a boat ๐Ÿ›ถ ride which steered by local Japanese. Not to miss the Kagaminuma on the Hachimantai mountaintop promenade aka Dragon Eye when the snow melts from mid-May to mid-June. About 2 hours by bus from JR Morioka Station to Hachimantai & Kagaminuma

Hachimantai Aspite Line Snow Corridor is a 27km mountain sightseeing road that runs through Towada-Hachimantai National Park straddling Iwate & Akita. 1 of the best roads in Japan for a scenic drive with impressively high walls of snow on both sides. The snow walls which can reach a height of 6m. Note: It may be closed during winter due to heavy snow as shown via https://www.facebook.com/Visit.My.Japan/posts/1823397997811059

Saloma Link Bridge ~ Insta-Worthy Tourist Spot @ Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This actually relating to SiennyLovesDrawing’s ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป earlier blogging ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“ via ๐ŸŒ https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2020/05/19/things-cant-wait-to-do-after-the-end-of-covid19-lockdown/

Yes โœ…, she wishes to enjoy holidays within her own living city ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™/ home country ๐Ÿš—๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ

Yeahโ€ผ๏ธ Have you heard about an instagrammable attraction ๐Ÿ“ in Kuala Lumpur (KL), the capital city ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™ of Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พโ“โ‰๏ธ

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has 1๏ธโƒฃst visited it from her earlier participation โœ… as media team for Kuala Lumpur ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™ What’s Fun tripโ“โ‰๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was before Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s Movement Control Order (MCO) even started though…

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป is gonna sharing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“aboutthis instagrammable bridge ๐ŸŒ‰named Pintasan Saloma in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language aka Saloma Link Bridge ๐ŸŒ‰

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

It’s now the longest single span steel structure elevated walkway ๐ŸŒ‰ in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ The orientation of its floor finishes along the walkway is facing the Qibla (Read more via ๐ŸŒ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qibla) to create continuity โ†”๏ธ between the Pintasan Saloma & Jalan Ampang Muslim Cemetery Park

Surely all of you have viewed lots of beautiful ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉcaptures ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ & news sharing about it whether from the main media ๐Ÿ—ž๐Ÿ“ฐ or online social platforms ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ–ฅ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป

Yes โœ…, this Saloma Link with its main structure i.e. A covered elevated steel pedestrian bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ already launched for public visit since 5 Feb 2020 in the city ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™ which commissioned by Kampong Bharu Development Corporation (PKB) ๐Ÿ˜€

It stretches 370m & span across the AKLEH Highway ๐Ÿ›ฃ & Klang River of 69m long. Its curved steel roof canopy houses the with 4.1K diamond facade panels & equipped with LED lights๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’กwhich brightly-lit up at night ๐ŸŒƒ๐ŸŒŒ The state-of-the-art lighting actually changing the light colours from time to time to creating amazing images for public to enjoy their walking ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ & capturing unique moments with it ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ

Yes โœ…, another iconic landmark ๐Ÿ“ in of Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ This beautiful ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ pedestrian bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ connects โ†”๏ธ between Kampong Baru & Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) just 7๏ธโƒฃmins walking ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธdistance as compared to 30mins in the past, from Jalan Sungai Baru to Jalan Saloma (reason of its name) & expanding over Klang River

A seamless pedestrian connectivity โ†”๏ธ between both the old & new ๐Ÿ†• worlds of KL ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™, a mere distance from the Kampung Baru LRT ๐Ÿš‰ The construction of this bridge took 1.5 years to complete with cost ๐Ÿ’ฐ of RM31mil (approximately USD7.5mil), including its consultancy cost

The bridgeโ€™s architecture is inspired by the Sirih Junjung in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ‘s national language aka Betel Leaf concept, a must in traditional Malay wedding ceremonies ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ as a symbol of unity among the Malay community. Also its design slightly similar to Bridge of Peace, a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ with steel & glass construction over the Kura River at in downtown Tbilisi, capital of Georgia ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ช, read more via ๐ŸŒ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_of_Peace

Personally SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป recommends to visit this bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ for both day time ๐ŸŒ† & night time ๐Ÿ™ for a different photo/ video ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ capturing fun & effects pleasure. Hmm…Please note that this link bridge ๐ŸŒ‰ is not โŒ open for 24 hours. Operation hours ๐Ÿ•” as shared at the bottom of this post ๐Ÿ“Œ

Free admission ya ๐Ÿ†“๐ŸŽŸ

Don’t worry about your personal safety while visiting it ๐ŸŒ‰ at late hours as it’s well equipped with CCTV ๐Ÿ“บ & rotation of security guard ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปwould like to reminding public, both Malaysians & foreign visitors ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ to maintaining the cleanliness ๐Ÿšฎof this bridge, perhaps by not โŒ having any snacks/ beverages ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒฏ๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿฅค while visiting this link bridge

Let’s all of us be a responsible traveller whenever & wherever we are ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ohh ya…Not just that, this bridge also aims for healthy lifestyle in the city ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™, it’s promoting walkability within the city ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

A 5๏ธโƒฃ km fun walk ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ ~ Jejak Warisan @ Pintasan Saloma 2020 was organised on 29 Feb 2020 to celebrate ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ the Happy Federal Territory Day in conjunction of the opening ceremony of this Saloma Link Bridge ๐ŸŒ‰

Then she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป got contacted with PKB FB page & received invitation as media ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ So she wore a blue running ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ shirt ๐ŸŽฝ๐Ÿ‘• & enjoyed a great sweat ๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’งas she always enjoy, yeahโ€ผ๏ธ

So happy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has joined this Jejak Warisan Pintasan Saloma as both media & participant ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
