Its design is largely Islamic, mainly of Indian & Middle-Eastern origin with some Chinese influence (The roof’s carved fascia board & dragon fin), as craftsmen from China were involved in the palace’s construction. The double-storey structure has many rooms, including a royal bath (Kolam Mandi Diraja), throne room (Balai Rong Seri), banquet room (Kamar Santap Diraja), bedrooms (Kamar Beradu), audience halls (Balai Mengadap), verandah (Sotoh), kitchen (Dapur) & a “forbidden garden” (Taman Larangan). Professional butchery is not just about cutting meat, it also showcases the butcher’s skill in deboning, breaking down primals into an assortment of cuts like grill or pan steaks 🥩, stir fry strips 🥓, cubes, yakiniku, shabu-shabu 🍲, sukiyaki 🥘, burgers 🍔 & sausage 🌭 making, marination & value-adding 😋🤤

Retail butchers would need to present & display meat attractively in the meat chiller counters, applying price tag 🏷️ labelling, reducing meat wastages, increasing yields & most importantly providing convenience & practical meat products for consumers

For foodservice butchers, there are not many being hired in the hotel industry 🏨 now due to rising costs.  However, if a hotel has many restaurants to cater to, the butchers will be required to have skills like meat cutting, deboning, marinating, sausage making, dry aging & preparation for oven roast, grill & creative cooking 🧑🏻‍🍳🔪 The goal is to ensure the meat is cut & prepared for the chefs to cook to precision, tenderness & customers’ satisfaction 👍🏻

These butchery skills were called upon in the Ultimate Young Butchers Competition organised by the Aussie Meat Academy at Culinaire Malaysia 2023

The butchery event was part of FHM 2023. Did you pay a visit to FHM 2023❓⁉️ What have you observe❓⁉️

This competition encouraged plus set a benchmark & 🆕 platform to promote the butchery profession, a sense of belonging to professionalism & to support the foodservice & retail industry

Most people may think butchery has ❌ future career path, but this is untrue as many butchers have become Executive Chefs & Store Managers. The butchery skills set is recognisable & the demand for butchers is high ⬆️ especially in the retail industry & neighbouring countries like Singapore 🇸🇬 are constantly sourcing for skilled butchers

There are 24 participants from Malaysia 🇲🇾, Singapore 🇸🇬, Taiwan 🇹🇼 & Vietnam 🇻🇳 in the competition, all of whom have at least 1️⃣ year butchery experience & are aged 38 & below

11th S.E.E.D Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) Of Central Region

Yeah‼️ As a passionate Muslims friendly content creator, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 was invited to witness the recent initiative hosted by Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) ie. The 11th S.E.E.D Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) ~ Central Region

Since 2009, ITC has taken steps to meet the Muslim tourist market needs in Malaysia 🇲🇾 through up skilling programmes such as the Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) training programme since 2017 under the Continuous Tourism Related Education (CTRE). It aims to equip & enhance all tourist guides licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) with an introduction to Islamic Tourism & the Muslim tourist market, as well as the necessary skills, including communication skills & crisis management training such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), so they can develop well within the Islamic Tourism space with the better understanding of the Muslims tourists’ faith based requirements

All these efforts aim to ensure that Malaysia continues to deliver the concept of Muslim-Friendly Tourism & Hospitality (MFTH) to all Muslim tourists

At present, a total of 131 licensed tour guides under MOTAC have undergone the MFTG training & been certified as MFTG in Malaysia 🇲🇾☪️✅👍🏻

So, what’s S.E.E.D (Share, Enrich, Enhance & Develop)❓⁉️

It’s a special series of programmes organized by ITC with its various strategic partners to share & deliver the latest information on a variety of contemporary topics from an Islamic perspective, including health, nutrition, spirituality, current issues etc.

In this connection, this 1️⃣-day programme ~ The 11th S.E.E.D Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) ~ Central Region with its strategic partner ~ Nasyrul Quran Complex has gathered approximately 20pax  MFTG from the Central Region in Malaysia 🇲🇾 to share updates on the latest information on Islamic Tourism, Putrajaya as an ideal Muslim-Friendly destination, ITC’s latest developments in the Muslim-Friendly tourism space & 1️⃣st-hand feedback/input from its tour guides who have been certified as Muslim-Friendly tour guides

This programme covers as below,

Nasyrul Quran Complex

All gathered to attend an introductory briefing & an exclusive tour of Nasyrul Quran Complex in Putrajaya, the 2️⃣nd largest al-Quran printing & production facility in the world 🌎 Yayasan Restu has received 60 million funding from government to build & construct this building

This NGO with aims to spread al-Quran across the globe 🌍 & any proceeds received will be donated to the communities in need. It’s with the printing of al-Quran in different languages here

Yes✅, after the world 🌎 largest al-Quran production centre ie. King Fahd Complex in Madinah, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦

SiennyLovesDrawing had visited this complex before, it remains the same, no major changes. Do read more of her 1️⃣st visit via 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2019/11/26/must-do-putrajaya-malaysia/

IMG_20230610_125813

This 2️⃣nd visit, she has learnt that Mushaf meant that all by hands eg. Drawing, calligraphy, colouring etc. of the al-Quran production process. The calligraphy staff here are well trained by the India 🇮🇳 & Pakistan 🇵🇰 calligraphers. There are 25 original Mushaf being collected & stored in gallery to-date as the references since its establishment with different languages translations. On average, approximately 15K copy of al-Quran printing produced here daily

Some of the important notes from its 🔟 steps of al-Quran production process;

  • Step 4 by all females for their great 👍🏻 patience & detailed works
  • Step 6 Required for about 6 to 7 years to complete
  • Step 8 Required JAKIM approval

The usage of natural ink/ dye from plants for calligraphy. Green 💚 is a sacred colour & meant for heaven in Islam ☪️, while red colour ❤️ symbolizes the life force. Both are important colours for Muslims. The natural ink is added in with palm oil 🌴 so the calligraphy done will stay longer

All motif for al-Quran are unique to the geography, culture of the respective countries

While browsing through the galleries, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻🤩 got impressed with the calligraphy crafted on the 🗡️ “Pedang” ie. Sword which required really detailed art & skills. Please note that visitors are not allowed to touch any, only view it with eyes 👀

The costing of an original copy of al-Quran is RM100 where RM25 paid for the natural paper supply (Direct from trees, not recycle paper) from Indonesia 🇮🇩 15K copies will be printed in a year & some being exported to Muslims minority countries eg. Nigeria 🇳🇬

A proper disposal of al-Quran is whether burnt / buried it by authorized personnel

Highly recommended to visit this complex

It’s 🆓 admission with modest & decent dress code requirements. 🆓 robe rental is available ✅ for females visitors 👭👭🏻 Just like SiennyLovesDrawing wore on comfortably at the entrance to start this 1️⃣-day programme

Walk-in with less than 🔟pax visitors will include a 🆓 tour until the viewing deck of the al-Quran printing factory, not allow to enter it. For group tour visit above 🔟pax visitors , 1️⃣ week advance notice with an authorized letter is required. More info about the tour visit via 🌐 https://www.nasyrulquran.com/lawatan-Nasyrul-Quran

Also a MFTG logo leper pin which they can pin on their name tag lanyard to differentiate them while on their tours then 😁

Personally to SiennyLovesDrawing, these are meaningful useful gifts from this programme for all participants to move forward their MFTG journeys with ITC 💯👍🏻

Then, the participants were invited to share some opinion/ feedback about this programme. Ms Jane 👩🏽‍🦱as 1️⃣ of the MFTGs has suggested to ITC for a network meet up to connect them with the tour operators, so then can translate to a more fruitful collaboration moving towards Muslims friendly Malaysia. Also she shared her experience about staying relevant & flourishing in the Islamic tourism space 😁🙌🏻

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 & Mr Safri 🙋🏽‍♂️ as the 2️⃣ media alums from the Islamic Tourism Writers Workshop (ITWW) were invited & shared about respective writing journey in highlighting tourism & lifestyle in Malaysia 🇲🇾

ITC is pleased to play a role as an advocate for Muslim-Friendly Tourism (MFT) by generally supporting you towards becoming a specialist in the Muslim-Friendly Tourism space to strengthen Muslim-friendly tourism and hospitality in Malaysia.

This fruitful informative programme has officially ended approximately at 2pm

Museum Batam Raja Ali Haji

It was softly opened to coincide with the commemoration of the 19th anniversary of Batam on 18.12.2020 (Fri). Nong Isa was the person given a mandate bh Sultan Muzaffar Syah I from the Lingga Sultanate to rule the Nongsa area & its surroundings on 18.12 1892. It was a milestone of Batam City & it’s then being celebrated annually till now

Guess what❓⁉️

This museum was a place to be carried out the Musabaqah Tilawatil Quaran XXV event at national level , which was given by the Riau Islands province government to the Batam City Government, by the Governor of Riau Islands, Mr Muhammad Sani

King Ali Haji is a renowed 18th century Malay author, he was born in Selangor, 1808. He has various talents as can be seen from the essays he wrote on inheritance & historical roles he played in the environment of Riau-Lingga Kingdom during his time. He died in Penyengat Island in 1873

Panbil Nature Reserve 🦌🌳

It’s a nature reserve in Riau islands with an area of 260 hectares, which is recognized as safe, fun educational & recreational facilities. The deer sanctuary park is the highlight to visit here, SiennyLovesDrawing was happy to be 1️⃣ of the 1️⃣st to be at this park to feed the deer 🦌🦌here, yes ✅, it will be launching soon

The deer 🦌🦌 are the sambar deer aka deer unicolor species. They are a larger deer species native to South East Asia. The male deer have antlers & the female deer do not

Do check out her happy visit to the Unicolor Deer Park TikTok captured via 📹🌐

Not just deer park, all its visitors get to also enjoy feeding animals within this park too eg. Koi fishes, rabbit, guinea pigs, birds, parrots, spiders, lizards etc.

It presents the concept of educational tourism that synergizes with forest ecosystems & acts as an oasis in the midst of crowded city life, yes, it’s Batam city’s largest Eco Edu area to offer hiking activities, camping to family recreation. It contributes to providing a safe & comfortable experience exploring a conserved forest. Interacting with feeding animals & standing in close proximity will be an unforgettable experience

During the park visit, if feeling thirsty or hungry, can dropping by to The Atrium, a dining space with food & beverage stalls so all its visitors can enjoy a drink or a meal here. There is also a supermarket that the visitors can shopping for foods, snacks, drinks or souvenirs from here

Barelang Bridge 🌉

This bridge 🌉 is the most prominent icon & must visit whenever we’re at tourist & industrial island of Batam Island, yes ✅, in the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia 🇮🇩, the trip will never be complete without visiting it

This bridge 🌉 is an architectural feat that connects 🔄 Batam Island with several small islands to its south, which are Rempang, Galang & Galang Baru (which, together are also known as the Barelang Islands area) & the smaller islands of Tonton, Nipah & Sekotok. This explains its name Barelang is a short form derived from the 3️⃣ major islands of Batam, Rempang & Galang

This bridge is built by local Indonesian engineers & architects, truly a proud iconic of Batam people here 👏🏻🙌🏻 It’s a bridge 🌉 system consisting of 6️⃣ bridges & connecting 🔄 roads, that together stretch across the total area of the Barelang islands region of approximately 715 square km. It covers 2️⃣km, while the actual distance covered from the 1️⃣st bridge to the last is about 50km

Awesome Stay at 📍 Bernan Island 🏝️

It’s in Senayang Sub-District, 1️⃣ of the most recommended islands to visit in Riau Islands Province as it belongs to Lingga Regency. It was with soft opening since Sept 2021

How to reach this island 🏝️❓⁉️

It’s just less than 45mins ferry ⛴️ ride from the 6️⃣th jetty (The jetty is labelled with Labon Island, immediately next to Kepri Island jetty) from the beautiful Batam Barelang bridge 🌉

There are many houses on stilts which some are actually with anchovies farms. On Benan island is a school 🏫🎒 that caters to students from various islands around the area who commute here by boat daily to attend classes. There even is a small marine army office here too 👍🏻
