It’s said to be the only castle in Japan that still has the same red-tiled roof from the time before it was demolished. At top floor, it offers a view of Mt. Bandai & Iimori Hill, also the townscape of Aizu. Ms Abe has recommended this castle as must visit during spring & autumn season

It’s still standing strong now after about 220 years, this 3-story temple solely made of wood, looks like a spiral staircase shaped with its ingenious double-helix slope (It allows visitors to ascend & descend the temple structure without meeting those moving in the opposite direction) that makes it in National Important Cultural Property listing in 1995 & also was showcased in Michelin Green Guide in 2018. Visitors will observe a discontinued practice by local Japanese from the plastered family placards of visitors who completed pilgrimages to the temple & gave donations on the roof & walls of this temple. This comprises a single large, open stage with no walls, and is said to have been used for ascetic training by priests, as well as kagura dance festivals

About 2 hours by bus from JR Morioka Station to Hachimantai & Kagaminuma

Hachimantai Aspite Line Snow Corridor is a 27km mountain sightseeing road that runs through Towada-Hachimantai National Park straddling Iwate & Akita. 1 of the best roads in Japan for a scenic drive with impressively high walls of snow on both sides. Traditional Food Cooking Demo ~ Sambal Taun/ Tahun ๐ŸŒถ

This sambal is originated asย ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Javanese’s spicy ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒถ sauce with the amount of chillies ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ used & generally cooked with anchovies, clams, cow skin or cow inner parts etc.

It aims to keep for consumption of almost a year (ie. Tahun means year in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พs national language)

Keep in cooking wok & heat up daily for consumption as chilies ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ are natural food perservative. Not to mix with coconut milk when 1st cooking it for keep purposes

She has enjoyed this dish with cow skin (Its texture like a jelly), a delicious tasty ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜‹dinner ๐Ÿฝ she had

Traditional Kuih Making Demo

There are 3๏ธโƒฃ types of ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Javanese cakes (aka kuih in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language) which made with its main ingredient ~ Cassava, read more via ๐ŸŒ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassava

These cakes no longer available at stalls/ shops within Selangor state, she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป really felt privilege ๐Ÿ˜ƒ to still have a chance to taste them during her visit ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿก

Flat Bread Making ๐Ÿฅ (aka Roti Canai in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language)

Just realised that the making of roti canai ๐Ÿฅ aka flat bread actually not โŒ so simple & easy, especially the making process of hand throwing the dough โ˜บ๏ธ

Always order & at times complaining about the long wait for roti canai to be served at mamak stall, after learning how to making it from this trip, she will not โŒ complain anymore for sure ๐Ÿ˜€

Where to Eat

Laman Tebu ๐ŸŽ‹ Aidil Orkid

A small stall operated by a family within home ๐Ÿก compound & with sugar cane๐ŸŽ‹plants by the roadside. A calm pleasant dining space

Must try the original sweetness sugar cane drink ๐Ÿฅค& with some ice cubes in it

๐Ÿ’ฏ% confirmed no โŒ added sugar of its refreshing natural sweetness sugar cane drink ๐Ÿฅคto enjoy a glass after a glass. A healthy drink not to be missed ya

Note: Tebu aka sugar cane in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ 's national language

Also must try ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค packed nasi lemak, BBQ honey ๐Ÿฏ chicken wings & BBQ honey chicken back ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ—

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

8๏ธโƒฃ kilos each of chicken wings & chicken back being sold daily according to the owner ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปWowโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฒ That’s a lot, good business ๐Ÿ˜

Personally she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป really enjoyed the nasi lemak served here with its sweet spicy ๐ŸŒถ sambal ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค

Its core business remains with orchid & bonzai plants. Then, venturing to this food business from the owner’s kids ideas from a whole family discussion ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ—ฃ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ค๐Ÿ‘ฅ as the sales of plants were badly affected during the Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO)

The owner’s son has won some bonzai recognitions ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ–๐Ÿ…nationwide & international ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปBravo ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
