Yeah‼️ As a passionate Muslims friendly content creator, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 was invited to witness the recent initiative hosted by Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) ie. The 11th S.E.E.D Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) ~ Central Region
Since 2009, ITC has taken steps to meet the Muslim tourist market needs in Malaysia 🇲🇾 through up skilling programmes such as the Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) training programme since 2017 under the Continuous Tourism Related Education (CTRE). It aims to equip & enhance all tourist guides licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) with an introduction to Islamic Tourism & the Muslim tourist market, as well as the necessary skills, including communication skills & crisis management training such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), so they can develop well within the Islamic Tourism space with the better understanding of the Muslims tourists’ faith based requirements
All these efforts aim to ensure that Malaysia continues to deliver the concept of Muslim-Friendly Tourism & Hospitality (MFTH) to all Muslim tourists
At present, a total of 131 licensed tour guides under MOTAC have undergone the MFTG training & been certified as MFTG in Malaysia 🇲🇾☪️✅👍🏻

So, what’s S.E.E.D (Share, Enrich, Enhance & Develop)❓⁉️
It’s a special series of programmes organized by ITC with its various strategic partners to share & deliver the latest information on a variety of contemporary topics from an Islamic perspective, including health, nutrition, spirituality, current issues etc.
In this connection, this 1️⃣-day programme ~ The 11th S.E.E.D Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide (MFTG) ~ Central Region with its strategic partner ~ Nasyrul Quran Complex has gathered approximately 20pax MFTG from the Central Region in Malaysia 🇲🇾 to share updates on the latest information on Islamic Tourism, Putrajaya as an ideal Muslim-Friendly destination, ITC’s latest developments in the Muslim-Friendly tourism space & 1️⃣st-hand feedback/input from its tour guides who have been certified as Muslim-Friendly tour guides
This programme covers as below,
Nasyrul Quran Complex
All gathered to attend an introductory briefing & an exclusive tour of Nasyrul Quran Complex in Putrajaya, the 2️⃣nd largest al-Quran printing & production facility in the world 🌎 Yayasan Restu has received 60 million funding from government to build & construct this building
This NGO with aims to spread al-Quran across the globe 🌍 & any proceeds received will be donated to the communities in need. It’s with the printing of al-Quran in different languages here
Yes✅, after the world 🌎 largest al-Quran production centre ie. King Fahd Complex in Madinah, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
SiennyLovesDrawing had visited this complex before, it remains the same, no major changes. Do read more of her 1️⃣st visit via 🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2019/11/26/must-do-putrajaya-malaysia/
This 2️⃣nd visit, she has learnt that Mushaf meant that all by hands eg. Drawing, calligraphy, colouring etc. of the al-Quran production process. The calligraphy staff here are well trained by the India 🇮🇳 & Pakistan 🇵🇰 calligraphers. There are 25 original Mushaf being collected & stored in gallery to-date as the references since its establishment with different languages translations. On average, approximately 15K copy of al-Quran printing produced here daily
Some of the important notes from its 🔟 steps of al-Quran production process;
- Step 4 by all females for their great 👍🏻 patience & detailed works
- Step 6 Required for about 6 to 7 years to complete
- Step 8 Required JAKIM approval
The usage of natural ink/ dye from plants for calligraphy. Green 💚 is a sacred colour & meant for heaven in Islam ☪️, while red colour ❤️ symbolizes the life force. Both are important colours for Muslims. The natural ink is added in with palm oil 🌴 so the calligraphy done will stay longer
All motif for al-Quran are unique to the geography, culture of the respective countries
While browsing through the galleries, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻🤩 got impressed with the calligraphy crafted on the 🗡️ “Pedang” ie. Sword which required really detailed art & skills. Please note that visitors are not allowed to touch any, only view it with eyes 👀
The costing of an original copy of al-Quran is RM100 where RM25 paid for the natural paper supply (Direct from trees, not recycle paper) from Indonesia 🇮🇩 15K copies will be printed in a year & some being exported to Muslims minority countries eg. Nigeria 🇳🇬
A proper disposal of al-Quran is whether burnt / buried it by authorized personnel
Highly recommended to visit this complex
It’s 🆓 admission with modest & decent dress code requirements. 🆓 robe rental is available ✅ for females visitors 👭👭🏻 Just like SiennyLovesDrawing wore on comfortably at the entrance to start this 1️⃣-day programme
Walk-in with less than 🔟pax visitors will include a 🆓 tour until the viewing deck of the al-Quran printing factory, not allow to enter it. For group tour visit above 🔟pax visitors , 1️⃣ week advance notice with an authorized letter is required. More info about the tour visit via 🌐 https://www.nasyrulquran.com/lawatan-Nasyrul-Quran

After lunch, ITC presented a token of appreciation to each participant. All MFTG were happy to receive a collar t-shirt with embroidery MFTG logo on it, as well as embroidery Muslim-Friendly Tourist Guide wording on a sleeve. Also a MFTG logo leper pin which they can pin on their name tag lanyard to differentiate them while on their tours then 😁
Personally to SiennyLovesDrawing, these are meaningful useful gifts from this programme for all participants to move forward their MFTG journeys with ITC 💯👍🏻
Then, the participants were invited to share some opinion/ feedback about this programme. Ms Jane 👩🏽🦱as 1️⃣ of the MFTGs has suggested to ITC for a network meet up to connect them with the tour operators, so then can translate to a more fruitful collaboration moving towards Muslims friendly Malaysia. Also she shared her experience about staying relevant & flourishing in the Islamic tourism space 😁🙌🏻

Wonderful MFTGs! I come from muslim family and many of my family members are actually very religious. It has never been easy on them to travel especially in the company of less devoted part of the family.
