Oppsss…This is a throwback post ๐, SiennyLovesDrawing actually completed her participation for the 3D2N Tourism Malaysia Media Explore Race 2022 (TOMER 2022) in Nov 2022 with another 3๏ธโฃ team members as Team 21 Pari-Pari. This race has covered from Putrajaya, Selangor, Perak & Kuala Lumpur (KL) in Malaysia ๐ฒ๐พ & with a combination of 2๏ธโฃ popular competition concepts ie. Treasure Hunt & Explorace ๐ฏ๐๐ป
There were approximately of 88 media members (In 22 Perodua-sponsored cars ๐๐), including 11 international media members from Indonesia ๐ฎ๐ฉ, Thailand ๐น๐ญ & Brunei ๐ง๐ณ in this TOMER 2022. It was held for the 1๏ธโฃst time in conjunction with the celebration ๐ฅณ ๐ of Tourism Malaysia’s 50 Golden Jubilee celebrations at the moment, yeahโผ๏ธ
All participants will travel in team to selected locations ๐๐ along the route of the race to answer the Treasure Hunt questions โโ in the form of a Creative Thinking Outside the Box ๐ค๐ญ๐ฌ, her team mates even said thinking outside the world, lol ๐ then to complete all the tasks & challenges of this Amazing Explorace allocated. The exciting prizes ๐๐ to reward the winning participants of this race consists of 1๏ธโฃst prize ~ RM 5๏ธโฃK,ย 2๏ธโฃnd prize ~ RM 3๏ธโฃK, 3๏ธโฃrd prize ~ RM2๏ธโฃK & ๐ consolation prizes of RM500 each
Guess whatโโ๏ธ SiennyLovesDrawing & her team 21 Pari Pari members ๐ญ๐ป๐ซ๐ป has won the consolation prize as all were 1st timers in this kind of race challenge, bravo ๐๐ป
This 3๏ธโฃD2๏ธโฃN TOMER 2022 was organized in collaboration ๐ค๐ป with Perodua as the main sponsor, together with Montanic Adventure Store, BoraOmbak Marina Putrajaya, Selangor Fruit Valley, STEG Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Bagas Zakariah, Wonda Coffee & Pepsi. It also has the cooperation ๐ค๐ป with Tourism Perak & VisitKL
It aims to promote tourism destinations & products available in Putrajaya, KL, Selangor & Perak among domestic & international media members. Each participated team is set for 4๏ธโฃpax in a Perodua-sponsored car ๐ allocated with team participation no. pasted on the car. Each participant is required to comply with all road rules throughout this exciting race, yes โ , safety 1๏ธโฃst always ya ๐

The participants registration started early morning โ๏ธ at Sunset Glasshaus, Indus Cafe of Marina Putrajaya with receipt of participation kit, location guide aka tulip, question sets, t-shirts ๐๐ & breakfast ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ Then, followed by a race briefing session by Clerk of Course (COC) for this race. The flag off of ๐ฉ๐ all participants of this race was officiated by Datuk Mohd Zamri Mat Zain, Deputy Secretary General (Tourism) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture (MOTAC) at Marina Putrajaya & was also attended by Dato’ Hj. Zainuddin Abdul Wahab, Director General of Tourism Malaysia. In this race, all the participants will go on a mission of travel & treasure exploration for a distance of more than 300km as a group by riding a Perodua-sponsored car ๐
Dato’ Zainuddin said, the organization of TOMER 2022 not only aims to establish close relations with local & international media involving mainstream media & new media, but also to promote tourism products around Putrajaya, Selangor, Perak & KL
“Tourism Malaysia has carried out various promotional & marketing activities to increase the contribution of the tourism sector to the improvement of the national economy in parallel with the focus on making Malaysia ๐ฒ๐พ as 1๏ธโฃ of the preferred tourist destinations in the region. Through the organization of TOMER 2022, publicity for domestic tourism products can also be increased including the gastronomy & nature segments in addition to strengthening public-private cooperation,” he shared
So, he emphasized to all participants to enjoy & have fun in this race ๐
Along the way, the participants will stop at several checkpoints ๐๐ including Selangor Fruit Valley, the remains of the Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 (TT5) & Bagas Zakariah in Gopeng with activities eg. witnessing a demonstration of ice blended nangka cempedak aka NangCem preparation by Dato’ Chef Ismail Ahmad, Tourism, Art & Culture Ambassador for the gastronomic market, it’s so so tasty refreshing to enjoy, yummy max ๐

Not just that, all participants have to sort out what are the Treasure hunt items to grab & then submit all answers to COC
SiennyLovesDrawing ๐ฉ๐ปโค๏ธ felt proud & touching that all the treasure hunt items, including salted egg made by the race teams were all donated to the orphanage home, bravo ๐๐ป๐๐ปfor the thoughtfulness, absolutely this making the race more meaningful for all participants
In addition, the participants will also experience an overnight camping ๐๏ธ experience at Riverside Camp Gopeng with BBQ dinner & the amazing performance by the fire boys ๐ฅ๐ฅ & local music bands ๐ต๐ถ๐ผ Not to forget the highlight of this race ie. The white water rafting ๐ฃโโ๏ธ๐ฃโโ๏ธ activity in Sungai Kampar, a must do & not to miss this extreme fun water activity
This traveling mission will end at the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Information Center (MaTiC) for lunch ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ & then the prize giving ceremony ๐๐ to the winners at the Media Appreciation Ceremony

Ohh ya…All race participants were invited by Tourism Malaysia to attend the 2022 Media Appreciation Ceremony ๐๐ which happened during the 3๏ธโฃD2๏ธโฃN as an effort to celebrate media members who have supported & helped Tourism Malaysia to make tourism activities a success, especially during the 2๏ธโฃ years faced with the COVID-19 pandemic
It’s themed gold & black ๐ค๐ this ceremony & it was held at Magica Hall, Quill City Mall with aims to appreciate the media’s role in improving the promotion & marketing of Tourism Malaysia throughout its 50 years of existence through the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign for the international market & domestic market #cuticutimalaysia
The ceremony was attended by YBhg. Datuk Hajah Saraya Arbi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture (MOTAC) & Dato’ Haji Zainuddin Abdul Wahab, Director General of Tourism Malaysia
Dato’ Zainuddin said, since its launch in 1999, the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign, for example, has won more than 25 awards at the international level, thus successfully boosting the arrival of foreign tourists to Malaysia ๐๐ฒ๐พ๐๐ป
“As of last September, Malaysia has recorded the arrival of more than 5.5 million tourists. We are optimistic to reach the target of 9.2 million tourists with a tourism income of RM26.8 billion by the end of this year. In fact, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), international tourism continues to show signs of strong industry recovery when it returns to record tourist arrivals reaching 57% during the pre-pandemic for the 1st 7 months of this year,” said Dato’ Zainuddin
At the ceremony, in addition to the lucky draw ๐๐, all invited guests were also entertained with a cabaret performance ๐๐บ & a medley of Tourism Malaysia promotional campaign songs ๐ค๐๐ต๐ถ under the coordination of Istana Budaya Dance Artists as well as the appearance of popular guest artists, Ms Ernie Zakri & Mr Khai Bahar
Also held was the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the TOMER 2022 which involved the participation of approximately 88 local & international media which took place over 300km from Putrajaya to Gopeng, Perak
