According to Mrs Sharzede, “We believe tourism is a catalyst for economic growth, cultural exchange & social cohesion. Sarawak Tourism is proud to collaborate 🤝🏻 with PATA on initiatives that not only enhance tourism resilience & sustainability but also position Sarawak as the Gateway to Borneo. Through joint efforts in carbon offset projects, advocacy, & biodiversity conservation, we aim to showcase Sarawak’s rich natural heritage while leading the way in responsible tourism practices.”

The 1️⃣st activity outlined in the MoU is the Tourism Destination Resilience (TDR) capacity building programme, scheduled to take place in Kuching next week. On 20 & 21 May 2024, tourism officials will receive training on core modules of the TDR Programme. These modules cover topics such as risk assessment & management, crisis communication, adaptive capacity improvement & diversification strategies, among others. Following this, on 23 & 24 May 2024, small & medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector will join a workshop on financial & digital skills, aiming to empower them with greater financial literacy & leverage digitalisation to enhance competitiveness

Following the TDR Programme, PATA & STB will engage in further activities including a 🆕 series of workshops focused on ecotourism & community-based tourism development, waste management & reduction & the implementation of sustainability certifications & carbon neutrality activities

Throughout this partnership 🤝🏻, the MoU emphasises the importance of continuous monitoring, evaluation & adjustment to ensure the success of sustainable tourism initiatives in Sarawak, Malaysia 🇲🇾

When she was 1️⃣st arrived, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 observed that this corner lot educational centre was open with both of its outdoor space with canopy booths & also its indoor ground floor with many different activities booths

All really good thoughts, exciting & interesting carnival activities including STEM related demonstrations & activities, hands-on experiments, competitions, parenting talk, educational booths & many more activities were well-prepared for children of all ages to enjoy. It also hosted a children’s fashion show with “STEM Career” as the theme 🤩💯

ALFA and Friends also wish to share awareness regarding STEM education which can be introduced through fun approaches to make children love ❤️ learning

This can meet the Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 objective of creating a young future generations that are more exposed to the STEM education

• Coding & Robotics ~ With the guidance from teacher 👩🏻‍🏫, her little niece really enjoyed max the zombie game 👧🏻💻 which was created by ALFA and Friends’s own student aged 9️⃣ years old, impressive 👏🏻💯👍🏻
• Digital Art ~ Her little niece has listened to the clear guidance from teacher 👩🏻‍🏫👧🏻 on how to use the iPad & digital pencil prepared at this booth to explore the digital colouring on the FunSTEM Carnival artwork from the iPad’s screen

In his speech, Mr Hendric 👨🏻‍🦱, Chairman of Happy Nest Building Donation Project emphasised King’s Park’s commitment to the community betterment, especially for the vulnerable. He said, “We are not just giving a land; we are giving these wonderful children a 🆕 beginning, a place they can play, learn & thrive.”

He 👨🏻‍🦱 further announced, “To construct the 🆕 PKKII home 🏠, we are launching a fundraising initiative 💰💲 named the “Happy Nest Building Donation”. We are collaborating 🤝🏻 with Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) to raise RM15 million, offering donors the added incentive of tax exemption. We invite generous members from the public or organisations to come forward to help.”

PKKII is a non-profit organisation that shelters brain-injured children. The home 🏠 located in Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama relies on public funds for daily operations, catering to over 70 youths & kids currently residing at PKKII since a tender age

The home’s monthly expenses exceed RM40K & conducts fundraising 💰💲 such as charity sales & charity dinner to keep the home in operation.  Dr Tiew Chew Ming 👨🏻‍⚕️, Founder & President of PKKII said, “We express our heartfelt gratitude 🙏🏻💖 to King’s Park for their to provide not only a home 🏠 for more children, but prioritising the establishment as a training & rehabilitation centre.”

The occasion also took the opportunity to include King’s Park formalising an Memorandum of Understanding with YBK, committing to sponsor 300 of their of their youth for an educational & skill development journey at King’s Park through the Cornell Academy program 🧑🏻‍🎓👨🏻‍🎓👩🏻‍🎓

The origins of Dondang Dongeng began with a simple question ❓⁉️

~ Do Malaysians, especially kids, still know of our local folklores❓⁉️ ~

While many of us grew up listening to the tales & songs of Disneyland, dreaming to be part of that world, did we still remember to find our way home 🏡 🇲🇾 & remember our own stories❓⁉️

As official guardian to her little niece, SiennyLovesDrawing ponders 🤔💬 these questions ❓⁉️& reflect how well she has done her part to bring awareness to preserve Malaysian arts & cultures & educating her little niece. Still not enough, she will continue doing her best as she herself is heritage passionate ☺️💞 Hmm…How about you ❓⁉️

Dondang Dongeng is a quest in sharing the stories of treasured Malaysian folklore like the smart & mischievous Sang Kancil 🦌 & legends of beautiful local princesses ~ Puteri Ledang 👸 & Puteri Santubong 👸, each stories actually complete with important morals to take away, as we pass down these narratives in a unique way through songs 🎤🎼🎶🎵

This music showcase is helmed by a team of esteemed creatives ie. Irena Taib, composer & member of The Impatient Sisters; Mia Palencia, renowned singer & songwriter; Melina William, musician & producer & other local talents that are highly sought-after in the music scene 🎬🎵🎶🎼

Dondang Dongeng is craftily weaved into a dreamscape, filled with stories less remembered but hopefully not long forgotten. Stories as old as time, presented in the form of songs with a modern twist 👍🏻

Let the songs 🎤👩🏽‍🎤🎵🎶🎼 awaken these folklores again, so let’s us all journey into this dreamscape together gather 😃😁 If we continue to tell these stories, we might realize that we all share common narratives & that will lead us to the way home ❤️🏡🇲🇾💯

The moments when all stood up for a quick stretch & sang Rasa Sayang together. Also the lol 😆😂 bit when a kid asked the story teller why Puteri Gunung Ledang 👸🏻 not willing to marry the King 👑 etc. ~ Why not❓⁉️ ~
