Let’s Explore the Jejak Warisan Heritage Trail ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

KKB Heritage Trail

Whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

Do you know KKB with its nickname as “Kiri Kanan Bukit” (also KKB) in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ’s national language which means “Left Right Hill โ›ฐ” ~ In a way, a sleepy town surrounding with hills โ›ฐโ›ฐ

1๏ธโƒฃ of the hill ~ Bukit Batu Pahat โ›ฐ is now famous for extreme sport ~ paragliding, aka KKB Paragliging Park currently. Not to miss the beautiful ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ scenery & view from this hill top ya ๐Ÿž

Whyโ“โ‰๏ธ

KKB was designed by Malayaโ€™s 1๏ธโƒฃst town planner Charles Reade based on the influential โ€˜garden city movementโ€™ of urban planning which 1๏ธโƒฃst initiated by Sir Ebenezer Howard back in 1898

Hence, now working towards to have it being listed on the National Heritage Act 2005 & then the UNESCO world heritage site by the Selangor State Government, do read more via ๐ŸŒย  https://www.mdhs.gov.my/en/mdhs/media-centre/news/kuala-kubu-bharu-town-listed-unesco-world-heritage-site & ๐ŸŒ https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/selangor-eyes-2-unesco-heritage-listings

Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ currently has 4๏ธโƒฃ UNESCO sites, hope KKB can be added โž• soon too

Definitely worth a read ๐Ÿ“– to learn more about KKB & its history via ๐ŸŒย  https://www.nst.com.my/lifestyle/jom/2020/08/613506/jom-go-beyond-kkb-town-limit & ๐ŸŒย  https://wikitravel.org/en/Kuala_Kubu_Bharu & ๐ŸŒ https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Kuala_Kubu_Bharu

Whereโ“โ‰๏ธ

Currently, there are 6๏ธโƒฃ heritage spots ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“ from this Jejak Warisan Heritage Trail & more will be added โž• soon to this trail eg. an old cinema (1953), St. Paul church, wall murals ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ lane etc.

1๏ธโƒฃ. Hulu Selangor District/ Land Office Building ๐Ÿข

KKB remains as the main administrative town of Hulu Selangor district. Yes โœ…, 1๏ธโƒฃ of its heritage still operating as the current Hulu Selangor District Land Office ๐Ÿข

The British took a lesson from the floods tragedy by building administrative complex ๐Ÿข on top of hill โ›ฐ for safety purposes. It had been adaptive reused when C.C Reade (1880 – 1933) proposal of the new ๐Ÿ†• township that involving this hilly site โ›ฐ as an administration centre in year 1926 ๐Ÿข

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has actually missed ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ this spot from her trail exploring. Aย special thanks to her travelmate, IG @livelifelah ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ she has got the pictures ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ“ธ of Spot 3๏ธโƒฃ to share here

4๏ธโƒฃ. KKB Post Office ๐Ÿค

It was built around the 1930s along with the development of KKB. It was designed with the Neo-Classical Architecture style, mainly characterised by round gable windows & round tribe casement windowsย

5๏ธโƒฃ. No.1 & 2 Jalan Dato Tabal Shophouses

Shophouse No.1๏ธโƒฃ (PWD 211) & No. 2๏ธโƒฃ (PWD 212) are shophouses in the historic building category. These shophouses were dispossessed by security forces during Malayan Emergency. However, there are 2๏ธโƒฃ versions of the story,

Version 1๏ธโƒฃ ~ This building is used by Communists to attack the Police ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธStation @ Bukit Kerajaan

Version 2๏ธโƒฃ ~ This building has been used by the Communists forces for their meetings

In the past, this Dato Tabal street was called as Bowen street. Bowen actually meant for a long serving District Officer of Hulu Selangor in the past as mentioned in a letter written by the District Officer of Hulu Selangor to its residents about the naming of streets in KKB. All being recorded in the book ๐Ÿ“– named โ€œTarikh Kuala Kubu 1780 โ€“ 1931โ€ published by the Kuala Kubu History Society. Not just the heritage trail, worth to explore below too

Al-Hidayah Old Mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ , Ampang Pecah

1๏ธโƒฃ of the oldest mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

When the Sungai Selangor dam was malfunctional for the 1๏ธโƒฃst time in 1883, then caused a massive huge flood to KKB. The it was broken in 1926 for 2๏ธโƒฃnd time, it wiped out the whole KKB town except โŒ for this mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ & the Guan Yin Gu Si Temple โ›ฉ Wowโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

This place was named as “broken dam” aka Ampang Pecah in the Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language due to the massive flood which broke the dams in the history

It was once said by the residents ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ that it’s constructed by magic supretitious power in 1924 & inspired by Javanese architecture with its arabesque decorations

Wallย  Mural ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œย  Streets

The beautiful wall murals ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ here actually potray the history & memories of KKB, its economic activities in the past ie. tin mining โ› , rubber tapping as well as the white crocodile โšช๏ธ๐ŸŠ (As a river guardian) fairy tale

These beautiful ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ wall murals ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ also share the famous activities within KKB nature ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’š attractions eg. waterfall hiking ๐Ÿฅพ , white water rafting, hot spring โ™จ๏ธ etc.

A perfect place to capture some stylish beautiful OOTDs ya

Hmm…It would be good ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป if the website ๐ŸŒ allows the DRAFT socks ๐Ÿงฆ shown with the photos ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ“ธ uploaded to observe whether it’s nice or not, hope this can be improved in the future by PrintsField for its customers ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ while customised their pair of socks ๐Ÿงฆ then

You may put down your notes ๐Ÿ“ to the designer in your online order to ensure the designer gets your ideas ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ’ก before share with your the draft print to obtain your agreement to printing your socks ordered โœ…๐Ÿงฆ

Lastly, check out your cart ๐Ÿ›’ & track your order to receive your personalised socks ๐Ÿงฆ to your door step ๐Ÿก, yeahโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜

SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has placed her order mid April, email communications ๐Ÿ“ง๐Ÿ“ง with the Printsfield’s designers cum printing team & then waiting to receive her socks ๐Ÿงฆ which being made, printed & shipped from USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Almost 3๏ธโƒฃ months plus to receive her pair of personalised socks ๐Ÿงฆ due to a courier services ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐Ÿ“ญ delay from COVID19 pandemic across the globe ya ๐Ÿฆ ๐ŸŒ

Personally, she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป loves ๐Ÿ’— & enjoyed the detailed email communications ๐Ÿ“ง๐Ÿ“ง receivedย  several times to confirm & get the designs fixed โœ… before printing her pair of personalised socks ๐Ÿงฆ

The 1๏ธโƒฃst draft of her socks ๐Ÿงฆ design was totally in black โšซ๏ธ & can’t even seen ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ her own handrawn art โœ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ–Š๐Ÿ–‹

Then, the passion & patience received from her email communications ๐Ÿ“ง๐Ÿ“ง with the Printsfield designers & printing team really a memorable & reliable ones ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป then received the perfect draft before her agreement to print on her socks ๐Ÿงฆ Yeahโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Once received & unboxing ๐Ÿ“ฆ her pair of personalised socks ๐Ÿงฆ , she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป really really loves ๐Ÿ’— the nice print & design of her signature fishes doodles ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ–Š๐Ÿ–‹on her pair of socks ๐Ÿงฆ

It definitely worth her efforts & time to communicate & wait patiently for her order to arrive her home sweet home ๐Ÿก

All her detailed drawings โœ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ–Š๐Ÿ–‹ were presented clearly & nicely on the socks ๐Ÿงฆ , she really loves it very much ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ˜

Not just that, the socks ๐Ÿงฆ materials (60% Polyester, ๐Ÿ”Ÿ% Acrylic, 25% Nylon & 5๏ธโƒฃ% Spandex) just so comfy, flexible & stretchable to wear on & pair with her shoes ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Moreover, there are cushioned bottoms & super soft interior lining at the bottom each sock ๐Ÿงฆ

Just a reminder ๐Ÿ“Œ, it’s a print on the socks ๐Ÿงฆ , so it can pale & change color under high โฌ†๏ธ temperatures โ™จ๏ธ

Hence, suggest for cold (Max. 30C or 90F) & gentle cycle for machine wash. Not โŒ advisable for bleach, dry clean, iron/ dry flat the socks ๐Ÿงฆ
