Step 2

2nd, to add 2 slight straight stroke ⏸ down from the edge of both the corners of the ice cream alike

Step 3

Next, to add half circle to each of the slight straight stroke down from the edge of both the corners of step 2 above

Step 4

Let’s Explore the Jejak Warisan Heritage Trail 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️

KKB Heritage Trail

What❓⁉️

Do you know KKB with its nickname as “Kiri Kanan Bukit” (also KKB) in Malaysia 🇲🇾’s national language which means “Left Right Hill ⛰” ~ In a way, a sleepy town surrounding with hills ⛰⛰

1️⃣ of the hill ~ Bukit Batu Pahat is now famous for extreme sport ~ paragliding, aka KKB Paragliging Park currently. Not to miss the beautiful 😍🤩 scenery & view from this hill top ya 🏞

Why❓⁉️

KKB was designed by Malaya’s 1️⃣st town planner Charles Reade based on the influential ‘garden city movement’ of urban planning which 1️⃣st initiated by Sir Ebenezer Howard back in 1898

Hence, now working towards to have it being listed on the National Heritage Act 2005 & then the UNESCO world heritage site by the Selangor State Government, do read more via 🌐  https://www.mdhs.gov.my/en/mdhs/media-centre/news/kuala-kubu-bharu-town-listed-unesco-world-heritage-site & 🌐 https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/selangor-eyes-2-unesco-heritage-listings

Malaysia 🇲🇾 currently has 4️⃣ UNESCO sites, hope KKB can be added soon too

Definitely worth a read 📖 to learn more about KKB & its history via 🌐  https://www.nst.com.my/lifestyle/jom/2020/08/613506/jom-go-beyond-kkb-town-limit & 🌐  https://wikitravel.org/en/Kuala_Kubu_Bharu & 🌐 https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Kuala_Kubu_Bharu

Where❓⁉️

Currently, there are 6️⃣ heritage spots 📍📍 from this Jejak Warisan Heritage Trail & more will be added soon to this trail eg. an old cinema (1953), St. Paul church, wall murals 🎨🖌 lane etc.

1️⃣. Hulu Selangor District/ Land Office Building 🏢

KKB remains as the main administrative town of Hulu Selangor district. Yes , 1️⃣ of its heritage still operating as the current Hulu Selangor District Land Office 🏢

This administrative complex 🏢 rehoused the District House & the Magistrate Court. The British took a lesson from the floods tragedy by building administrative complex 🏢 on top of hill for safety purposes. The construction of the complex 🏢 was completed in 3 Nov 1930 with a cost of $172, 675.70

2️⃣. King George VI Commemorate Clock 🕰 Tower

This clock 🕰 tower is a major landmark of KKB town. It’s located at the top of Bukit Kerajaan ⛰ & opposite the Hulu Selangor District/ Land Office 🏢

It was built in 1937 to commemorate King George VI & Queen Elizabeth crowned King & Queen of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

3️⃣. Hulu Selangor Traffic🚦Police HQ 🚨👮🏻‍♂️👮🏻‍♀️

It’s located at the top of Bukit Kerajaan ⛰ & was 1️⃣st built in the 1914 as a church ⛪ named The Church of Ascension to serve the Angelic devotees. It has the physical aspects of a typical Victorian building eg. the cupola at the top of roof

It had been adaptive reused when C.C Reade (1880 – 1933) proposal of the new 🆕 township that involving this hilly site ⛰ as an administration centre in year 1926 🏢

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has actually missed 🤦🏻‍♀️ this spot from her trail exploring. A special thanks to her travelmate, IG @livelifelah 🙋🏻‍♀️ she has got the pictures 📸📸 of Spot 3️⃣ to share here

4️⃣. KKB Post Office 🏤

It was built around the 1930s along with the development of KKB. It was designed with the Neo-Classical Architecture style, mainly characterised by round gable windows & round tribe casement windows

5️⃣. No.1 & 2 Jalan Dato Tabal Shophouses

Shophouse No.1️⃣ (PWD 211) & No. 2️⃣ (PWD 212) are shophouses in the historic building category. These shophouses were dispossessed by security forces during Malayan Emergency. However, there are 2️⃣ versions of the story,

Version 1️⃣ ~ This building is used by Communists to attack the Police 🚨👮🏻‍♀️👮🏻‍♂️Station @ Bukit Kerajaan

Version 2️⃣ ~ This building has been used by the Communists forces for their meetings

In the past, this Dato Tabal street was called as Bowen street. Bowen actually meant for a long serving District Officer of Hulu Selangor in the past as mentioned in a letter written by the District Officer of Hulu Selangor to its residents about the naming of streets in KKB. All being recorded in the book 📖 named “Tarikh Kuala Kubu 1780 – 1931” published by the Kuala Kubu History Society. Credited & do read more via 🌐  https://museumvolunteersjmm.com/2019/10/20/visit-to-kuala-kubu-bharu-kkb/

6️⃣. Old Fire Station 🚒 KKB

It was built in 1931 at a cost of $9,937.71. It was designed with the Neo-Classical Architecture style, this fire station 🚒 has 3️⃣ fire engines bay, resting room, a kitchen & a store

It’s registered as PWD No. 112 under the historic building category

This 70++ years old fire station 🚒 may look stable on the outside, however no ❌ longer safe to serve its original purpose after the repair maintenance from the massive flood in 1926

Instead, it’s now the KKB Tourism Info Center ℹ️

Not just the heritage trail, worth to explore below too

Al-Hidayah Old Mosque 🕌 , Ampang Pecah

1️⃣ of the oldest mosque 🕌 in Malaysia 🇲🇾

Guess what❓⁉️

When the Sungai Selangor dam was malfunctional for the 1️⃣st time in 1883, then caused a massive huge flood to KKB. The it was broken in 1926 for 2️⃣nd time, it wiped out the whole KKB town except for this mosque 🕌 & the Guan Yin Gu Si Temple ⛩ Wow‼️😲

This place was named as “broken dam” aka Ampang Pecah in the Malaysia 🇲🇾 ‘s national language due to the massive flood which broke the dams in the history

It was once said by the residents 👫👭👬 that it’s constructed by magic supretitious power in 1924 & inspired by Javanese architecture with its arabesque decorations

Wall  Mural 🎨🖌  Streets

The beautiful wall murals 🎨🖌 here actually potray the history & memories of KKB, its economic activities in the past ie. tin mining ⛏ , rubber tapping as well as the white crocodile ⚪️🐊 (As a river guardian) fairy tale

These beautiful 😍🤩 wall murals 🎨🖌 also share the famous activities within KKB nature 💚🌳🌳💚 attractions eg. waterfall hiking 🥾 , white water rafting, hot spring ♨️ etc.

A perfect place to capture some stylish beautiful OOTDs ya
