Updated 23 March 2022, 11.15am

Yeahโ€ผ๏ธWith the concern increasing โฌ†๏ธ cases of COVID19 positive, including the CMCO relaunched at certain designated states/ areas within Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ , SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป would like to share about her recent online attendance of a Facebook Live session ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป~ Navigating Covid19 2nd Wave: What Are We Really Doing to Protect Our Childrenโ“โ‰๏ธ ~

Yes โœ…, she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป is concerning ๐Ÿ˜Œ about the current status & to gain more knowledge to keeping safe her little niece’s ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป overall health & wellness from this scarry health pandemic across the globe ๐ŸŒ

.
This FB live session ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป was organised & hosted as part of its #PlanTheNextGen series by Trinity Kids Malaysia, an awards-winning๐ŸŽ–Trilingual Creative School ๐Ÿซ for children aged from birth till 12 years old ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปwith aims foran informative, informal heartfelt session with 4๏ธโƒฃ mothers with real questions, fears, situations etc. regarding managing Covid19 protection & raising own children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป

The panel lists & talking points of this live session ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป including,

  • The state of Covid19 in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ
  • Pre-knowledge of a case ~ Precautions & self-isolation
  • Post-knowledge of a reported case eg. emergency response, management & importance of accurate reporting
  • Social etiquette among parents when attending events, work & travel
  • Managing the social & emotional development of a child during this pandemic
  • High risk vs low risk activities for children
  • Fighting Covid19 to prevent the 2nd wave

.

The 4 mums were discussing how can collectively #fightCovid19 to protect the children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป & how as the parents ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ง can support the development of own children to weather this health pandemic eg. The parents of Trinity Kids Malaysia to design together school SOP

โ€œWe strive to manage the environment that we expose our children to at Trinity Kids through community efforts with the parents. It is only through collaboration that we can make this world a safer place for our children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€ as shared by Ms. Daisy Ng ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ, the Chief Education Officer of Trinity Kids Malaysia

.

โ€œWhat I realised was that parents had so many varied questions about keeping their children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป safe, well & happy during these trying times; but they donโ€™t necessarily have the answers. That is why we started this conversation series ~ To bring parents together to share knowledge & experiences in areas like managing routines & adapting to our childrenโ€™s needs.โ€ added Ms. Daisy ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ

Moderator ~ Ms. Daphne Iking, Professional Emcee & TV Personality ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Ms. Daphne ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ has moderated this live conversation ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป with aims to put all minds at ease & answer the pressing questions โ“โ‰๏ธ surrounding kidsโ€™ safety & wellbeing during this pandemic with 3 Cs to avoid ie. Crowded places, Closed contact & Confined spaces

She ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ has jokingly shared that she was once being discriminated that she is contracting with COVID19 as she is a Sabahan, but she wasn’t back to Sabah at all @@

Guest ~ Ms. Wong Chui Ling, TV/Radio Producer, Speaker & Host๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ has shared some of her insights on how to manage some social situations in public she has personally faced as a celebrity without offending others & you can come home safely to your children without worries, including being out at a public event, someone approaches you for a photo opportunity, still go for the photo ๐Ÿ“ธ opportunity safely by standing apart etc.

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ told that not practical for her to wear a mask to speak her speech on stage as she has kept a distance with her audiences, she speaks without her mask on stage. She told that she will be responsible to announce on her social media if she is contracting with COVID19

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ has shared that eyes contact/ body language to indirectly inform she is not comfortable with certain social activities eg. shake hands, salam, hugs etc. & certain body contact. She told that she will practising some polite reversepsychology as she herself wasn’t sure as she is unwell & would like to keep a distance to avoid a risk of contracting virus during this sensitive pandemic situation

.

โ€œI organised a birthday party for my child ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป a few months back. It was a smaller scale celebration & I was very particular about who I invited to the party. But if anyone asks whether they can organise a party during this time, I would advise against it.โ€ shared by Chui Ling ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ has been very creative by educating her kids by animated the“invisible” COVID19 virus๐Ÿฆ with super power, also she pointed out that moderation is key & a common ground among the family members in taking care the children to coexist with current situation eg. Still sending them to school etc. as unable to avoid things 100% to be safe

Guest ~ Dr. Ng Yi-Ki, Paediatrician of Baby & Beyond Clinic ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€โš•๏ธ

It gets increasingly blurry when it comes to managing the risk of exposure on your child ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป when deciding between various weekend activities during this RMCO. As we all aware that a child’s development & personal growth requires interaction with peers through physical & social activities. However, not all activities are weighed equally in terms of the risk of exposure

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€โš•๏ธ has shared how to pit these activities against guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to help all finding the clarity in terms of managing your child ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป’s exposure in various environments through the lens of a paediatrician

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€โš•๏ธ has further clarified that all must be clear with the facts 1st before taking any safety measurements on kids ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป, be wise from being influenced by any wrong information shared whether on social medias/ WhatsApp messages etc. Yes, managed your risks & do not panic

.

โ€œThe risk of transmission among children is at least 50% lower than adults. Let us not be too obsessive to the point where we scold our kids ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป if they touch their eyes or if they do not wear their masks. What we can do as parents is to teach them to be mindful & wash their hands constantly.โ€ explained by Dr. Ng ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€โš•๏ธ

Always educate & explain nicelyto kids ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป above 5 years old about what COVID19 & its impacts, then teach them to be more mindful whenever being out, how to wash hands etc. Those below 5 yrs old, much more difficult to educate the messaging as well as to get them wear the disposable masks, instead she got her toodlers to wear cloth masks & guide them to wash hand

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€โš•๏ธ has reassured & clarified a Qs received from a pregnant mum that wearing mask will still provide enough oxygen to mum for her baby development, so must wear mask during pregnancy

Guest ~ Ms. Daisy Ng, Founder & CEO of Trinity Kids Malaysia๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ has shared the tips on optimising child’s surroundings eg. sanitising own personal space when being out so that they can continue to thrive during this worrying situation. In particularly she mentioned to learn from HK & Taiwan where practising a mandate mask wearing among the communities when unwell & to lower the risk of an individual from contracting any airborne infectious germs

As parents, it’s important to weight the exposure risk of being an uncontrollable spaces eg. playground/ park vs home, school etc.

โ€œIt boils down to trust towards the schools that your children attend. Are they doing the right thing & taking the right measures? The government has given clear guidelines for schools to create a safe environment for children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป โ€ clarified by Ms. Daisy ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ

.

Also she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ has shared how herself & her team are continuously working & adapting behind the scenes to create a safe controlled space for fun learning @ school ๐Ÿซ as well as how to adopt these best practices as she has recommended at home or when you are out in public to protect your children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป

Her school team is practising strict monitoring who is in/ out the school daily, segregating the children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป, controlled environment to reduce risk exposure, zoom sessions with parents to have everyone on the same page on SOP design together, sanitising solutions, body temperature machine with AI recognition for contactless entry etc. Also being responsible to share an emergency response to all parents to strike a balance of being transparency vs the privacy protection of an infected parent

Not just that, herself & team also design & operate digital school for the kids ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿป

.

Ohh ya…Ms Daisy ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿซ actually owns a parenting blog & SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปhas been her reader, read more via ๐ŸŒ https://www.daisyng.com/ , do download a copy of her ebook ๐Ÿ“ฒ“Protecting Our Children from Covid19” via ๐ŸŒ https://www.trinitykidsmalaysia.com/ebook
