Let’s celebrate the Year of the Dragon 🐉🐲 with an electrifying celebration of the greatest martial artist of all time, Bruce Lee ~ the Dragon himself 李小龙
SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 was so proud to be an invited media member to witness the recent launch of Exclusive Bruce Lee Exhibition & The 1️⃣st Tour of His Statue Outside of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 which being officiated by YB Lee Chin Chen 👨🏻💼, Deputy Speaker of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly
It’s a grand unveiling of the iconic 2.5m Bruce Lee statue in his iconic “ready to strike” pose, making its historic debut outside of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong 🇭🇰 for the 1️⃣st time & exclusively at 📍RWG from NOW until 14 Apr 2024. Absolutely a special privilege for all Malaysians, so proud 😍

As a art passionate, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 really impressed with all the original hand-painted late Bruce Lee masterpiece by artist Shannon Ma 👨🏻🎨, it really WOW 😲 Frankly, it really looked like the photographs of late Bruce Lee to her when she came across these portraits masterpieces, absolutely excellent art skills 💯👍🏻

As you all know, the ‘cha chaan teng’ 茶餐厅 is a Hong Kong 🇭🇰 concept tea restaurants that brings together both Chinese & Western food. Also as the name alludes, these tea restaurants serve tea 🫖🍵☕️ , most notably the strong, tannic, brewed tea strained through a tea sock, then laced with evaporated milk 🥛丝袜奶茶 This tea, traditionally drunk hot, accompanies little bites of Chinese pastries such as the famous egg tarts 蛋挞 & Bo Lo Buns 菠萝包 These little meals allow busy Hong Kongers a respite from the city bustle & cha chaan tengs have expanded to serve full meals of both Chinese & Western food, with some interesting fusion crossings

During this recent dining, SiennyLovesDrawing had a special privilege to meet & interview Chef David Choo 👩🏻🗣️👥👨🏻🍳 as well as listened to his passionate sharing on the menu
He 👨🏻🍳 elaborated that after CNY, every month there will be some limited edition food items & are exclusively on sale only for that particular month. Yes ✅, monthly special & will align to festivals that happens that month. Wow 🤩 She just can’t wait to try & enjoy the rice dumplings here during June 2024 in conjunction to The Dragon Boat Festival as Chef David informed that he may explore to create 🆕 taste by marrying Nyonya dumplings style with traditional Chinese dumplings
Also Chef David 👨🏻🍳 further elaborated that Grand Cha Chaan Teng is RWG’s nod to this popular aspect of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 culture. It also lives up to its name with both its 526-seating capacity which designed on a far larger scale to serve both guests & gaming patrons
Its menu showcases both Nanyang & Cantonese cuisines, hence offering local favourites, dim sum 🥟 , expertly roasted items, premium teas 🫖🍵☕️ , small bites & more. It carries Chef David’s 👨🏻🍳 crafted menu & Cantonese Opera narrative to the dining scene to create an authentic dining experience & entice all taste buds
Chef David 👨🏻🍳 also explained that his menu with healthy & nutritional 👍🏻 food items, for example he uses both baked & fried methods so that foods will be less oily, ❌ MSG, ❌ artificial sweetener, ❌ artificial colouring, ❌ artificial flavours
He proudly informed that all its pastry items remain crunchy even being eaten only many hours after or even overnight till the next day, wow 😲It’s true, personally SiennyLovesDrawing really love the crisp & crunchy outer part of the curry puff served here 👩🏻😋💯
Small bites & snacks include bo lo buns 菠萝包 (Aka ‘pineapple 🍍 buns’ for the pattern of the butter & sugar crust on top of the buns), with an assortment of accompaniments including butter 🧈 , truffle & scrambled eggs. There are also a variety of baguettes 🥖 & toast 🍞 for those wanting a smaller meal
All diners can choose from an array of expertly roasted items ~ Duck 🦆 , chicken 🐓 , pork belly & “Char Siu” served with rice 🍚 for heartier meals, or opt for a delectable selection of rice-based meals including nasi lemak, nasi sambal udang, kampung-style fried rice & the cha chaan teng staple of baked marinated pork chop rice with tomato 🍅 concasse & cheese 🧀
Also available is a range of local noodle favourites ranging from Penang char kuey teow, wanton noodles, curry laksa 🍜, fish head meehoon & beef tendon noodles. For additional warmth in the cool mountain air, there is also a selection of soup & congee 🥣 . The latter also features in the supper menu served from 10.30pm to 5.30am. Teochew pork rib pepper soup, yong tau foo kway teow soup & Singapore fried meehoon are also available for supper, wow 😲
