It completed its construction of 🔟 chalets/ villas, a multipurpose hall & Kuntum Cafe 🍽️☕ in Nov 2032 to provide an immersive experience in a village setting for all tourists, then has been handed over to Majlis Daerah Mersing on 16 April 2023 to manage its operation
This unique resort-themed homestay is set in an idyllic village environment to enhance the tourism offering in Mersing, Johor. It was developed as an activity centre to encourage tourists to interact with locals & participate in tourism activities. This has paved the way for the creation of more tourism-related entrepreneurial & employment opportunities within its surrounding areas

Pasar Nelayan Teluk Buih
It’s located next to the Kumtum Cafe of KampungStay@Teluk Buih, so after enjoyed the breakfast, can just walk over if would like to buy some fresh fish 🐟, flower crabs 🦀 etc. to bring home 🏡
Absolutely fresh 💯👍🏻 produces here as the fishermen sold them straight here after returning from the sea 🌊
Not just that, also can enjoy walking 🚶🏻♀️ to its fishermen’s boats jetty to enjoy the sea view 🌊 with fishermen’s boats docking here
For those who are not good at fishing 🎣, can just go to the this fishing market because there are many fresh fish 🐟 brought up by local fishermen
Ohh ya…There are several restaurants surrounding Teluk Buih that serve fresh seafood for you all to enjoy 😋👍🏻
Pantai Teluk Buih
It’s a good 💯👍🏻 destination for anglers who want to test their skills in catching sea fish 🎣🐟 It’s located adjacent to Air Papan Beach, which is the beach that is the focus of picnic 🧺😋 activities
Most of the visitors who come to this beach are doing fishing activities. Anglers are very fond of this beach because there are many sembelang fish, grouper fish, stingray fish & kurau fish that have been successfully raised 💯🎣🐟👍🏻
This beach is sheltered by Bukit Selantai ⛰️ which makes it quite dim & quiet with beautiful panorama of the cluster of islands 🏝️ opposite this beach 🏖️
SiennyLovesDrawing & travel mates went hiking through a mountain bike trail from the side of this beach the next morning 🌄🌞 , do continue read on her great morning sweat 💦 😅 💯👍🏻 to reach the peak of this Bukit Selantai for an equivalent of “Uluwatu Bali, Indonesia 🇮🇩” cliff view, she named it as Uluwatu Mersing 👩🏻😍🤩
Mersing Geopark ~ Pulau Mawar 🌹🏝️🪨
It’s just approximately 15mins drive 🚗 from KampungStay@Teluk Buih
Being on this Pulau Mawar seems to be in the middle of it 🏝️ because it’s surrounded by the water of Mawar River & the sea water of Mawar Beach 🏖️ Tourists can walk to explore & visit its surrounding mangroves swamps
1️⃣ uniqueness about Pulau Mawar is that it is very accessible because ❌no permit is required to enter this area, ❌ no need to board a boat 🚤 & just need to walk to get here
This geopark often being the main focus of many photographers 📸 because of its many interesting unique rock formations 🪨 especially the well known “Heaven’s Gate of Pulau Mawar”. These rocks 🪨 in fact part of this Mersing Geopark which was once said a volcanic 🌋 zone about 300 million years ago
Do wear proper hiking shoe 🥾👟 & bring drinking water with you to enjoy a short & simple hiking 🥾 journey of approximately 3️⃣mins with some rope 🪢 assistance to reach the Heaven’s Gate & with an insta worthy view to the beautiful beach 🤩🏖️ facing the South China Sea 🌊 Tourists can enjoy sunbathing here

Tok Ajak 👨🏽🦳 told that some of the attractions here can only be visited subjects to sea 🌊 water level. When the sea water level is high 🌊⬆️, the tourists cannot pass the sandbar that separates the mainland from this Mawar Island. If the water recedes ⬇️, visitors can enjoy hiking 🥾 to pass through the sand dam in the area which takes only 15mins
Not just that , while enjoy slow walking 🚶🏻♀️ along the rocky beachside path when the sea water level is low 🌊⬇️, tourists can visit the interior of a small bat 🦇 cave filled with colourful rocks in purple 💜 & gold 💛 hues
A special thank you to nature guide, Tok Ajak 👨🏽🦳 who has shown her some of the unique rock 🪨 formations ie. The pink red rose 🌹 shape rock (Rose 🌹 is Mawar in Malaysia’s national language ~ Bahasa Melayu, yes ✅, the name of this island 🏝️), “Guan Yin” Buddha 🙏🏻rock formed, a Sabah map, sleeping dinosaur 🦖, a huge wolf 🐺 head rock aka Batu Serigala that really shaped like a howling wolf etc. during this recent visit
At night, it’s a great 👍🏻 opportunity to capture beautiful milky way, stargazing & star clusters 🌌💫🌟🌠 Hmm…During this recent trip due to limited time, SiennyLovesDrawing didn’t get to enjoy stargazing here, saved it for next trip ya 🤩
Admission fee of RM5️⃣ per pax for adults, children & senior citizens are 🆓 This fee is charged to maintain the sustainability of nature here 💚

It’s also within short walking 🚶🏻♀️ distance or can request buggy 🛺 service from KampungStay@Teluk Buih to reach the hiking trails 🥾 & mountain bike trails 🚵♀️ to reach the peak of peak of Bukit Selantai ⛰️& Pantai Air Papan 🏖️
Enjoyed morning hiking through 1️⃣ of the mountain bike 🚵♀️ trails to reach the peak of Bukit Selantai ⛰️ with beautiful view of the cliffs, the amazing view from peak really like SiennyLovesDrawing was at Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia 🇮🇩
She is proud that her own home country ~ Malaysia 🇲🇾 owns a Uluwatu Mersing (Yeah‼️at She named it herself proudly as a Malaysian, lol 😆) in Johor 😍🤩💖💯
It’s just slightly steep to hike up at the beginning & at the end of the trail. So, it was a good sweat 💦 for her early that morning 🌅
She highly recommended this morning hiking for the impressive beautiful view at the peak 👩🏻😍🏞️⛰️💯👍🏻
Tips📌: There are plenty of mountain bike 🚲 trails & hiking 🥾 trails available ✅ to reach the peak of Bukit Selantai ⛰️ From SiennyLovesDrawing’s personal hiking experience, if without nature guide with you, do opt for the hiking trails as proper ropes ✅🪢 available to guide you through. It’s because mountain bike trails tend to be more steep & without ropes ❌🪢 for you to hold on & hiking up. Do be extra careful when take photos/ videos at peak 📹📸🤳🏻🌄 with the beautiful cliff view because there is no fencing available for safety protection.
