National Park Pahang, Malaysia ðŸ‡²ðŸ‡¾

Yeah‼️ SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has recently travelled to Taman Negara 🌳🌳 (aka National Park 🌳🌳 ) Pahang, Malaysia 🇲🇾 with MITA business networking trip & enjoyed her back to nature 💚 stay 🛌🚿🚽😴💤 at Han Rainforest Resort 🏡🏘🏡

She 👩🏻 had a privilege to meet & enjoyed an inspiring chat 🗣👤 with the founder of the resort🏡🏘🏡, Mr Kenny Ng 👨🏻‍💼(Uncle Kenny) about his nature 💚 💚 passion & resort busines journey

Oppsss…SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has forgot 🤦🏻‍♀️ to have a photo 📸 with Uncle Kenny 👨🏻‍💼 during this trip

He 👨🏻‍💼 has generously shared an article ✍🏻📜wrote by him & SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 would like to share 👩🏻‍💻📝 it here, inclusion of her favourite ❤️ emojisss & capturesss 📸 in between 😃😁

🤗 ~ Sharing is caring as always ~~ 🤗

Taman Negara🌳🌳, situated in the heart ❤️of Pahang, Malaysia 🇲🇾 , is 1️⃣ of the oldest rainforest 🌳🌳 in the world 🗺🌍 at 130 million years old

Within it, lays a geographical 🌍 wonder of permanently untouched & protected habitat for flora 🌳🌱🌿🌺 & fauna 🦓🐆🐅🐘 to florish to all its glory

As such, this a perfect 👍🏻 platform for the development of a hub towards the education of conservation of the ecology surrounding Taman Negara & rainforests in general 🌳🌳

We strongly believe that Taman Negara 🌳🌳 has the potential to be a global 🗺🌍 platform for the both Eco & Adventure education tourism centre 😃

My 👨🏻‍💼 humble beginnings of 30 plus years specialising in tourism at Taman Negara 🌳🌳 & the handling of some 1️⃣ million over tourists 👫👭👬 since day 1️⃣, has led me 👨🏻‍💼 to the formation of 2️⃣ travel agencies (NKS & Han Travel) & a resort 🏡🏘🏡 with the biggest room capacity at Kuala Tahan. We average 30k tourists 👬👫👭 a year & 90% of them are from Europe 🇬🇧 🇮🇹 🇩🇪 🌍🗺

It has come to a time, where I 👨🏻‍💼 feel personally, having been in this trade for 30 odd years, it is time to educate the younger generation 👧🏻🧒🏻👦🏻🧑🏻 & anyone from all walks of life willing to learn about the conservation 💚 of the ecology & its surroundings

We at Han Travel, have formed 2️⃣ new 🆕 arms in our corporation to execute the upcoming programs called Eco Adventure Tourism 💚💚

This will be encased with the educational arm named the Eco Educational Tourism, headed by Mr Frank Kee & his team 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♂️💁🏻‍♀️ & in support 💪🏻 with the activities provided by the Adventure Management Tourism headed by Mr Kevin Bateman & his team 🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♂️💁🏻‍♀️

Just 1️⃣ of our examples for the educational program is the re-planting of bamboo 🎋🎍or specific trees 🌳🌳 by badly eroded areas in the effort to prevent further damage to the riversides 💦💧

This is just an example of what we would provide as a CSR initiative 😀

We shall be working closely with the Sultan Ahmad Environmental foundation 💚 in its efforts, participate & uphold its values 😊

Alas, with our planning & preparation, we now realise that we face a huge stumbling block 😥😓 We do not a permanent site to conduct our activities in a conducive & safe manner 😌

Also, current rules & regulations by the government sectors should be looked at & revised to enable operators like us 👭👫👬 to introduce & execute the mutually beneficial conservational education programs 💚💚

In the extended period, the efforts will benefit not just the environment 💚🌳💚 but also creating employment opportunity to the locals within its surroundings 👭👬👫

I👨🏻‍💼now urge, the Pahang state Government, Ministry of Tourism & other related government agencies to assist us in paving the way into this journey with us 🙏🏻🤝👏🏻🙌🏻

Other Asian countries are already promoting their countrys’ tagline, for example;-

  • Thailand 🇹🇭 ~ Culture tourism
  • Indonesia 🇮🇩 ~ Art tourism
  • Philippines 🇵🇭 ~ Diving tourism
  • Malaysia 🇲🇾 ~ Eco & Adventure tourism

All told, our Ministry of Tourism Malaysia 🇲🇾 have also set their vision 💭 on Eco Tourism 💚 with its plans & implementation of its program from 2025 & continued focusing till 2050

Han Travel Sdn Bhd, is now at the final phases of the planning & is almost ready to launch our initial program on Eco & Adventure Tourism 💚💚 The launch pad & operations will be at the Han Rainforest Resort, Kuala Tahan 🏡🏘🏡

We hope our efforts will promote & drive the state of Pahang to be model state & also the centre of Ecological 💚 Awareness & the centre for the Education on Rainforest Preservation 🌳🌳

Once again, I 👨🏻‍💼 believe that our vision is in line with the Pahang State government’s. Developing a fully functioning centre where the education of the ecology 💚 can spread to all walks of life through an experiential process where participants 👫👭👬 can touch, feel, smell, see and hear the importance of the ecology 💚around us & the threats to its and our existence 😃😁

Thank you 🙏🏻

Special thanks 🙏🏻 to the nature guide 💚🙋🏽‍♂️, Mr Panjang, plenty of insects, reptiles, birds etc. being observed 😃😁

Canopy 🌳🌳 Walk 🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️

It’s approximately 540m long & 40m above the ground

Guess what❓⁉️

It’s the world 🌍🗺 longest canopy walkway

Yeah‼️😲 We made it ✌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻

Rapid shooting

Amazing 😉 fun 😆🤣 1️⃣st experience she had & she 👩🏻 was 101% wet 💦💧with ride through the rapids along Tembeling River 💦💧

Luckily 🍀 the valuable belongings & shoes 👟 were kept by the nature guide 💚🙋🏽‍♂️in the plastic bag , else all got wet & gadgets 📱📷⌚️ may spoilt 😊

Bateq Village Visit

The Bateq indigenous people are very shy ☺️ in welcoming guests 👫👭👬

Learnt lots about their basic traditional lifestyle e.g. start a fire 🔥, using blow gun to hunt for animals as foods etc.

Hmm 🤔 …SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is planning for her cave overnight 🌃🌌😴💤 trip next year

Highly recommended 👍🏻👆🏻 to back to nature 💚 to National Park Malaysia 🇲🇾

#TravelogueMalaysia: Pulau Kukup & Tanjung Piai

Yeah‼️ This round, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is gonna sharing about her recent eco tourism trip to Pulau Kukup 🌴& Tanjung Piai 🌿 The 2️⃣ of the Johor National Parks located at Southern Johor of West Malaysia 🇲🇾

Pulau Kukup Johor National Park

As shared in earlier blog post📝, Pulau Kukup 🌴 is just 2️⃣0️⃣km away from her stay at Aloha Hotel Pontian🏢 So, after breakfast🍽☕️, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 & her writers gang 👫👭👬departed with Sitty Travel 🚐 to jetty ⚓️ (shown in photo below, yes, it’s through this seafood 🐟🦐🦀🐙🦑restaurant🍽🍴)

Photo 28-01-2018, 11 53 58 AM.jpg

Then, a short boat 🚤 ride (2️⃣0️⃣mins, RM5️⃣/pax for return trip 🚤🚤 & free 🆓 for kids below 6 years old 👶🏻👧🏻🧒🏻👦🏻) to Pulau Kukup 🌴

Arrived & enjoyed a slight sweaty 😅morning 🔆🔅 2️⃣km mangroves trail walk 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️here😀

Yeah‼️ The highest 👆🏻stilt roots & largest Hibrid Mangrove in Malaysia 🇲🇾

Photo 28-01-2018, 11 51 03 AM

In Jan 2003, this mangrove island, an ecological treasure trove was granted with the status of a🎖 Wetland of International Importance (Ramsar Convention Site), by the Geneva-based Ramsar Convention Bureau👏🏻

If you are a bird 🦅🐦 lovers❤️, do visit here for the seasonal migratory bird 🦅🐦 watching 🔭spectacle

Pulau Kukup 🌴 encompases 3️⃣ villages i.e. Kukup Laut, Air Masin & Kampung Melayu. It’s essentially a fishing 🎣 village which is famous for seafood🦀🦐🦑🐙🐟, local produced shrimp 🦐 paste (aka belacan in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 national language), salted fish🐟, dried shrimps🦐, cage cultured fish 🐟 farms etc.

Do enjoy a short clip 📹🎥 captured from her recent trip there😉

There is also another ferry ⛴ jetty ⚓️ & immigration checkpoint to Batam Island & Karimun Island of Indonesia 🇮🇩

Let’s plan your visit to this nature reserve mangroves island ya 🤩

Yeah‼️ Time for lunch 🍽🍴1️⃣st before the next destination of the day❗️😄

Hmm…Where❓⁉️

It’s at Johor Riau Restaurant 🍽🍴which served Malay seafood 🦀🦐🦑🐙🐟cuisine with Johor style😋🤤

Wow‼️Many many seafood 🦀🦑🐙🦐🐟 dishes served‼️SiennyLovesDrawing’s 👩🏻 happy face 😁 as a food lover 😋🤤 Ha…Ha…

All dishes were so fresh & delicious👍🏻, highly recommended 👆🏻to dine 🍽 here if you are on your way to visit Tanjung Piai🌿

Why❓⁉️

It’s just so so near to it, or should say you will definitely passby Johor Riau on your way to Tanjung Piai🌿

Photo 28-01-2018, 3 05 03 PM.jpg

She learnt that as Johor tradition, almost all Johor restaurants 🍽🍴especially seafood 🦀🦑🐙🦐🐟restaurants will definitely served Horseshoe Crab aka Belangkas in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 national language

Curious about how it looks like❓⁉️Do stay tune for her next post 👩🏻‍💻📝where she will be sharing her visit to horseshoe crab conservation centre😉

Photo 28-01-2018, 3 06 07 PM.jpg

It’s her 1️⃣st time to taste horseshoe crab & she loves 💗 it❗️Johor Riau served it in “lemak cili padi🌶” (Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 national language) cooking style👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳

Guess what❓⁉️

There is no crab meat to enjoy, instead enjoy the delicious crunchy 😋🤤 crab roes/ eggs of it🙂

Photo 28-01-2018, 1 11 49 PM.jpg

Another dish that she loves 💗 from Johor Riau is the seafood otak-otak (another signature Johor dish) served here👆🏻👍🏻

It’s so delicious with its unique Johor recipe with dried coconut 🥥 🌴 in it. A mouthful of light coconut 🥥 fragrant blended well with the fresh seafood 🦐🐟 ingredients❗️Tastebud satisfied❗️😃

Photo 28-01-2018, 1 13 19 PM.jpg

How about other seafood 🦀🦑🐙🦐🐟 dishes enjoyed❓⁉️

  • Soup Riau 🍲 (served with crabs🦀 )
  • Spicy 🌶 sour fish 🐟 (aka “ikan asam pedas” in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language)
  • Spices cooked snails 🐌 (aka siput sedut berempah)
  • Black pepper clams
  • Malay style salad 🥗 aka ulam
  • Fish 🐟 served in “Bebotok” style

Do enjoy a short clip 📹🎥 captured from her Johor style seafood 🦑🐙🦐🦀🐟 dining 🍽🍴here ☺️

Hmm…Hope you all don’t craving 🤤🤤 for seafood 🦑🐙🦐🦀🐟 after watching 👀👁👁 ya

Address📍: J48, Tanjung Piai, 82300 Kukup, Johor, West Malaysia

Operating hours🕚: 11am to 12am daily, except ⛔️ Monday

FB: https://www.facebook.com/Johoriau/

Yeah‼️ After a satisfied 😃👍🏻😋delicious lunch🍽🍴, happily travelling 🚐 to…

Tanjung Piai 🌿National Park

Wow‼️ This welcome landmark monument made of eco-friendly fibre reinforced concrete with 2️⃣0️⃣m height & 🔟m width. Its stark grey ◻️ colour represents the rich mangroves & mudflats of Tanjung Piai🌿

1️⃣st photo 📸 captured before another eco walk🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️here

Photo 28-01-2018, 2 50 55 PM.jpg

Hmm…Why Piai❓⁉️

It’s named after a local fern 🌿 plant aka Paku Piai 🌿 in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language. This plant is capable of living in brackish water conditions i.e. scattered in this park🙂

Tanjung Piai 🌿 is the southern most point of Peninsular Malaysia 🇲🇾 & the southern most tip of Mainland Asia 🌎too with the borders of shorelines of Malaysia 🇲🇾 , Indonesia 🇮🇩 & Singapore 🇸🇬

Lots of tourists 👫👭👬 travelling to here, just to capture a photo 📸 with this globe 🌐 shaped monument & plaque which marked the southernmost point😍

Photo 28-01-2018, 2 29 07 PM.jpg

Guess what❓⁉️

Tanjung Piai 🌿 as a coastal mangrove also being granted in Jan 2003 with the status🎖of an internationally important Ramsar Convention site👏🏻

It has high socio-economic value for fisheries 🐟🐟 especially mudskippers aka ikan belacak in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language😀

Photo 28-01-2018, 11 50 06 AM.jpg

The national park officers 👩🏻‍💼👨🏻‍💼shared about the breeding story of mudskippers🐟. Apparently the male 🚹🐟 mudskippers need to build a mud house 🏠 (refer photo 📸 below) to attract the female 🚺🐟mudskippers. Ha…Ha…Interesting facts learnt😅😂🤣
