Amabie is a legendary Japanese spirit ~ A mermaid 🧜♀️ or merman 🧜♂️ creature with fishy scales, long hair, 3️⃣ fin-like legs & a beak emerged from the sea 🌊 ~ believed to predict either a good harvest or a pandemic
It is said that the youkai Amabie appeared in 1846 at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868), appeared in a shining figure from the sea 🌊 He said that he disappeared into the sea again, leaving behind the words 😉
