The Launch of Marvels in Hong Kong event series to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

The Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, Jakarta (HKETO Jakarta) has recently launched Marvels in Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ : 25 Years & Beyond on 24 August 2022 (Wed) ie. A dedicated event series to be held in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ, Indonesia ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ & The Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) & to showcase Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ โ€™s latest developments in areas such as arts, culture & tourism

It encompasses a wide array of engaging activities on topics such as Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ trade & economy, business environment as well as tourism & culture, tailored for audiences from all walks of life in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ & greater ASEAN communities

HKETO Jakarta jointly held with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) a media launch ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ to mark the official debut of the event series

Addressed at the media launch ceremony, the Director-General of HKETO Jakarta, Mr Law Kin-wai ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ said that Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ is a highly international city ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒƒ with immense appeal beyond its widely known advantages in business & trade. He cited as an example the landmark development of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), an emerging global arts & cultural hub featuring world-class attractions including the Xiqu Centre, the M+ museum & the Hong Kong Palace Museum

Mr Law added that under the 14th 5๏ธโƒฃ-Year Plan of the country, Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ is clearly positioned as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural & arts exchange. The city will further consolidate its relevant edge with the completion of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre, the Lyric Theatre Complex in the WKCD & the Kai Tak Sports Park as a mega performance venue

Also speaking at the event, the Regional Director of Southeast Asia of the HKTB, Mr Raymond Chan ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ said that Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ has always been close to the hearts ๐Ÿ’• of Malaysian travellers ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ & Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ is an important key source market for Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ With the ๐Ÿ†• infrastructure development & experiences in Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ , the city cannot wait to welcome Malaysian travellers ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ back to Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ to experience the ๐Ÿ†• tourism offerings

He added that under Hong Kong ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ’s national development plan, it’s clearly positioned it as an East-meets-West Centre for International Cultural Exchange. More cultural assets ie. The East Kowloon Cultural Centre & The Lyrics Theatre Complex to be completed in 2023 & 2024 respectively. In parallel, the Kai Tak Sports Park will soon be completed to serve as the largest sports & performance venue with 50K seats, wowโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿคฉ
