Comfy Homestay/ Hotel Stay ๐Ÿจ

Personally she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปwould like to recommend & suggest you all to opt for a village homestay during your visit to Kampung Parit 2 Sungai Haji Dorani ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿก

Do check out FB page via ๐ŸŒ https://www.facebook.com/Doranihomestay/, it was founded during Javanese migration from Indonesia to Malaysia & a unique Javanese village which owns a different lifestyle & culture from the other Malay villages ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿก

Or to engage this homestay to gain experiences of various village activities ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Due to fully booked of this homestay, SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has checked-in ๐Ÿ”‘ to a family suite with 2๏ธโƒฃ of her travelmates, Kyoko & Pikah ๐Ÿ‘ญ for a pleasant comfy 4๏ธโƒฃD3๏ธโƒฃN stay in the 1๏ธโƒฃst boutique hotel ๐Ÿข in Sekinchan, a small town in Sabak Bernam

Curious why Javanese ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ foodsโ“โ‰๏ธ

During this village visit, she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has a privilege to taste some of the traditional ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Javanese foods & delicacies, read more via ๐ŸŒ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javanese_cuisine

Selangor state of Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ is with lots of Javenese migrants ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ since early 1900s, hence lots of Javanese cultures are being influenced to the local Malaysians ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿ‘ซ

Approximately 4K villagers ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿ‘ซ in Kampung Parit 2 & consists of Javanese (@ paddy field), Banjarese (@ coastal area) & Malays (In between paddy field & coastal area). The other villages are Kampung Sg Nipah, Kampung Sg Limau & Kampung Parit 4

Traditional Food Cooking Demo ~ Sambal Taun/ Tahun ๐ŸŒถ

This sambal is originated asย ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Javanese’s spicy ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒถ sauce with the amount of chillies ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ used & generally cooked with anchovies, clams, cow skin or cow inner parts etc.

It aims to keep for consumption of almost a year (ie. Tahun means year in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พs national language)

Keep in cooking wok & heat up daily for consumption as chilies ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ are natural food perservative. Not to mix with coconut milk when 1st cooking it for keep purposes

She has enjoyed this dish with cow skin (Its texture like a jelly), a delicious tasty ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜‹dinner ๐Ÿฝ she had

Traditional Food Cooking Demo ~ Sambal Cili Hijau

Another ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Javanese’s spicy ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒถ sauce & this is cooked with green chillies ๐Ÿ’š & anchovies

It’s really really spicy ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ , however she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป loves & enjoyed it very much. She loves anchovies ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค This sambal can be cooked with chicken, beef etc. according to preference ya

Traditional Kuih Making Demo

There are 3๏ธโƒฃ types of ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Javanese cakes (aka kuih in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language) which made with its main ingredient ~ Cassava, read more via ๐ŸŒ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassava

These cakes no longer available at stalls/ shops within Selangor state, she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป really felt privilege ๐Ÿ˜ƒ to still have a chance to taste them during her visit ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿก

Let’s enjoy her TikTok clip ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ above which being captured from all 3๏ธโƒฃ cakes making demo shown. Hmm…Why not a cafe themed with all these Javanese cakes in this villageโ“โ‰๏ธ

Ubi Kayu Getok ~ Cassava aka Ubi Kayu in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language

The making of this cake require some strong energy ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป as need to hit the cassava until it flats & compact to making a tasty cake to enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‰

This cake extremely tasty ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค to enjoy with the sambal cili hijau ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒถ

Punten ~ This rice cake extremely tasty ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค to pair & enjoy with the sambal cili hijau ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒถ

Ketiwol ~ Extremely tasty & easy to make this cake with 3๏ธโƒฃ main ingredients, Cassava, coconut ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿฅฅ & sugar

Flat Bread Making ๐Ÿฅ (aka Roti Canai in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ ‘s national language)

Just realised that the making of roti canai ๐Ÿฅ aka flat bread actually not โŒ so simple & easy, especially the making process of hand throwing the dough โ˜บ๏ธ

Always order & at times complaining about the long wait for roti canai to be served at mamak stall, after learning how to making it from this trip, she will not โŒ complain anymore for sure ๐Ÿ˜€

Where to Eat

Laman Tebu ๐ŸŽ‹ Aidil Orkid

A small stall operated by a family within home ๐Ÿก compound & with sugar cane๐ŸŽ‹plants by the roadside. A calm pleasant dining space

Must try the original sweetness sugar cane drink ๐Ÿฅค& with some ice cubes in it

๐Ÿ’ฏ% confirmed no โŒ added sugar of its refreshing natural sweetness sugar cane drink ๐Ÿฅคto enjoy a glass after a glass. A healthy drink not to be missed ya

Note: Tebu aka sugar cane in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ 's national language

Also must try ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค packed nasi lemak, BBQ honey ๐Ÿฏ chicken wings & BBQ honey chicken back ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ—

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

8๏ธโƒฃ kilos each of chicken wings & chicken back being sold daily according to the owner ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปWowโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฒ That’s a lot, good business ๐Ÿ˜

Personally she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป really enjoyed the nasi lemak served here with its sweet spicy ๐ŸŒถ sambal ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคค

Its core business remains with orchid & bonzai plants. Then, venturing to this food business from the owner’s kids ideas from a whole family discussion ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ—ฃ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ค๐Ÿ‘ฅ as the sales of plants were badly affected during the Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO)

The owner’s son has won some bonzai recognitions ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ–๐Ÿ…nationwide & international ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปBravo ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Kuda Kepang aka Flat Horse ๐Ÿด is a traditional Javanese dance with a group of horsemen (as dancers) straddle a flat horse ๐Ÿด Each Flat Horse was made with the braided strips of woven bamboo, then being painted & decorated colourfully

This dance portrays troops riding horses & incorporates trances.
