Comfy Homestay/ Hotel Stay 🏨
Personally she 👩🏻would like to recommend & suggest you all to opt for a village homestay during your visit to Kampung Parit 2 Sungai Haji Dorani 🏡🏘🏡
Do check out FB page via 🌐 https://www.facebook.com/Doranihomestay/, it was founded during Javanese migration from Indonesia to Malaysia & a unique Javanese village which owns a different lifestyle & culture from the other Malay villages 🏡🏘🏡
Or to engage this homestay to gain experiences of various village activities 😃
Due to fully booked of this homestay, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has checked-in 🔑 to a family suite with 2️⃣ of her travelmates, Kyoko & Pikah 👭 for a pleasant comfy 4️⃣D3️⃣N stay in the 1️⃣st boutique hotel 🏢 in Sekinchan, a small town in Sabak Bernam
It aims to providing affordable hotel rooms with A+ services to all its guests 👫👭👬
Guess what❓⁉️
She 👩🏻 actually stayed in this hotel 🏢 back in 2018 (Her partcipation ✅ to Rentak Selangor 2018). Really impressed that this hotel is maintaining well 👍🏻 till to-date, bravo‼️👏🏻🙌🏻
Purposely snapped photos 📸📸 at same spot 😆 Coinsidently she 👩🏻 wore black 🖤 & the same “I’m busy” pink 💗 cap in both photos 📸📸 Just a short hair vs a long hair 😝😜 Lol…😂🤣

Curious why Javanese 🇮🇩 foods❓⁉️
During this village visit, she 👩🏻 has a privilege to taste some of the traditional 🇮🇩 Javanese foods & delicacies, read more via 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javanese_cuisine
Selangor state of Malaysia 🇲🇾 is with lots of Javenese migrants 🇮🇩👫👭👬 since early 1900s, hence lots of Javanese cultures are being influenced to the local Malaysians 🇲🇾👭👬👫
Approximately 4K villagers 👭👬👫 in Kampung Parit 2 & consists of Javanese (@ paddy field), Banjarese (@ coastal area) & Malays (In between paddy field & coastal area). The other villages are Kampung Sg Nipah, Kampung Sg Limau & Kampung Parit 4
Traditional Food Cooking Demo ~ Sambal Taun/ Tahun 🌶
This sambal is originated as 🇮🇩 Javanese’s spicy 🥵🌶 sauce with the amount of chillies 🌶🌶 used & generally cooked with anchovies, clams, cow skin or cow inner parts etc.
It aims to keep for consumption of almost a year (ie. Tahun means year in Malaysia 🇲🇾‘s national language)
Keep in cooking wok & heat up daily for consumption as chilies 🌶🌶 are natural food perservative. Not to mix with coconut milk when 1st cooking it for keep purposes
She has enjoyed this dish with cow skin (Its texture like a jelly), a delicious tasty 🤤😋dinner 🍽 she had
Traditional Food Cooking Demo ~ Sambal Cili Hijau
Another 🇮🇩 Javanese’s spicy 🥵🌶 sauce & this is cooked with green chillies 💚 & anchovies
It’s really really spicy 🌶🌶 , however she 👩🏻 loves & enjoyed it very much. She loves anchovies 😋🤤 This sambal can be cooked with chicken, beef etc. according to preference ya
Traditional Food Cooking Demo ~ Pecel Lele
It’s 🇮🇩 Javanese style deep fried catfish 🐟 dish with its spicy 🌶 coconut 🌴milk 🥥🥛 sauce, read more via 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecel_lele
Loves 💗 the tasty catfish 🐟 served in this cooking style 👍🏻😋🤤 during 1️⃣ of her dinners @ homestay 🏡🏘🏡
Traditional Kuih Making Demo
There are 3️⃣ types of 🇮🇩 Javanese cakes (aka kuih in Malaysia 🇲🇾 ‘s national language) which made with its main ingredient ~ Cassava, read more via 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassava
These cakes no longer available at stalls/ shops within Selangor state, she 👩🏻 really felt privilege 😃 to still have a chance to taste them during her visit 🏡🏘🏡
Let’s enjoy her TikTok clip 📹🎥 above which being captured from all 3️⃣ cakes making demo shown. Hmm…Why not a cafe themed with all these Javanese cakes in this village❓⁉️
Ubi Kayu Getok ~ Cassava aka Ubi Kayu in Malaysia 🇲🇾 ‘s national language
The making of this cake require some strong energy 💪🏻💪🏻 as need to hit the cassava until it flats & compact to making a tasty cake to enjoy 😉
This cake extremely tasty 😋🤤 to enjoy with the sambal cili hijau 💚🌶
Punten ~ This rice cake extremely tasty 😋🤤 to pair & enjoy with the sambal cili hijau 💚🌶
Ketiwol ~ Extremely tasty & easy to make this cake with 3️⃣ main ingredients, Cassava, coconut 🌴🥥 & sugar

Flat Bread Making 🍥 (aka Roti Canai in Malaysia 🇲🇾 ‘s national language)
Just realised that the making of roti canai 🍥 aka flat bread actually not ❌ so simple & easy, especially the making process of hand throwing the dough ☺️
Always order & at times complaining about the long wait for roti canai to be served at mamak stall, after learning how to making it from this trip, she will not ❌ complain anymore for sure 😀
Where to Eat
Laman Tebu 🎋 Aidil Orkid
A small stall operated by a family within home 🏡 compound & with sugar cane🎋plants by the roadside. A calm pleasant dining space
Must try the original sweetness sugar cane drink 🥤& with some ice cubes in it
💯% confirmed no ❌ added sugar of its refreshing natural sweetness sugar cane drink 🥤to enjoy a glass after a glass. A healthy drink not to be missed ya
Note: Tebu aka sugar cane in Malaysia 🇲🇾 's national language
Also must try 👍🏻😋🤤 packed nasi lemak, BBQ honey 🍯 chicken wings & BBQ honey chicken back 🐓🍗
Guess what❓⁉️
8️⃣ kilos each of chicken wings & chicken back being sold daily according to the owner 👍🏻Wow‼️😲 That’s a lot, good business 😁
Personally she 👩🏻 really enjoyed the nasi lemak served here with its sweet spicy 🌶 sambal 😋🤤
Its core business remains with orchid & bonzai plants. Then, venturing to this food business from the owner’s kids ideas from a whole family discussion 🏡🗣👥👤👥 as the sales of plants were badly affected during the Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO)
The owner’s son has won some bonzai recognitions 🏆🎖🏅nationwide & international 👍🏻Bravo 👏🏻🙌🏻

Traditional Village Activities
Baling Kelapa Games
A modern bowling 🎳 game, the bowling ball is replaced with a coconut 🥥 in village & using the recycled plastic bottles as the bowling pins
Trumpet With Coconut Leaves 🌴
Amazingly to making the trumpet by just rolling the coconut leaves 🌴😃👍🏻 So so creative
Hmm…Just that this trumpet can’t be used for long term, it’s not ❌ functional after the leaves dried up ya 😌
Scarecrow Making
Really exciting 😉 fun to learn & make a scarecrow with her group members 👬👭👫 allocated
Why a scarecrow❓⁉️
It’s widely use by the farmers 👨🏻🌾👩🏻🌾 to scare away the birds 🐦🦅 from destroying paddy 🌾🌾
Fishing Cat Fish 🎣🐟 @ Paddy Field
A quiet leisure activity at the village either by the river, stream, paddy field etc. Catfish 🐟 is Ikan Keli in Malaysia 🇲🇾‘s national language
According to the village kids, they will keep the catfish as pet 1️⃣st, till they grow bigger, then to cook & enjoy them as dish 🍽
Catching Cat Fish ✋🏻🐟 🤚🏻 @ Paddy Field
A must try amazing exciting catching catfish 🐟 with hands 🤚🏻✋🏻 in the mud field
The local villagers will just catch the catfish from the drains, river, paddy field etc.
You may check out her TikTok clip 📹🎥 to view the exciting moments captured from her travelmates. She 👩🏻 was sad 😔 that she had menstruation that morning 🔅 & ruined her excitement to join this catching fun with her travelmates…😢😭
Traditional Art & Culture
Barongan Kuda Kepang 🐴
Kuda Kepang aka Flat Horse 🐴 is a traditional Javanese dance with a group of horsemen (as dancers) straddle a flat horse 🐴 Each Flat Horse was made with the braided strips of woven bamboo, then being painted & decorated colourfully
This dance portrays troops riding horses & incorporates trances. When dancers are in trance, they display extraordinary abilities as being possessed by animal spirits eg. monkey 🐒 , snake 🐍 , elephant 🐘 , bird 🦅 etc. Some of the horsemen will swallow glasses, climb trees 🌳🌳 , walk on hot ♨️ burning charcoals etc.
Do enjoy her vlog 📹🎥below. Read more about Kuda Kepang 🐴via🌐 https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2018/04/19/rentak-selangor-2018-part-2/ & 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuda_Lumping
Rewang Tradition
It’s the practice of the “rewang” values inherent from the Indonesia 🇮🇩 Javanese influences ie. not ❌ being selfish in the community 👫👭👬, mutual respect, solidarity & sharing of experiences etc. 👭👫👬
Some of the common examples eg. Gotong royong, working together to prepare food feast etc. ☺️
Silat Performances
It’s not only a martial art, to-date it also performs in Malay villages during official ceremonies & wedding 🤵🏽👰🏽
This intangible heritage must be preserved for the future generations 👶🏻👧🏻🧒🏻👦🏻🧑🏻 Read more via 🌐 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silat

Corn 🌾🌽 Farm
SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is a corn 🌽 lover & she really exciting happy 😃 to be at the corn🌽 farm for the 1️⃣st time, yeah‼️ The corn 🌽 here so sweet to enjoy it fresh from plucking, yes ✅, no ❌ need steam/ BBQ, really so good 👍🏻😋🤤
The corn 🌽 farm (1️⃣ to 3️⃣ acres each farmer) here planted with its corn seeds from Thailand 🇹🇭 , Taiwan 🇹🇼 & China 🇨🇳 She 👩🏻 has learnt that corn 🌽 belongs to paddy 🌾 family & it took approximately 60 to 70days to harvest ie. 6️⃣ months to harvest paddy 🌾 & twice to harvest for corn 🌽
She 👩🏻 really loves 💗 the original natural sweetness from fresh corn 🌽 , corn pancake (Steamed rice flour with corn & wrapped in corn ear), corn fritters, corn drink 🥤 & corn sweet soup 🥣 during this village trip
Hmm…Why not a cafe themed with corn in this village for both local & foreign tourists 👬👭👫 to taste & enjoy them❓⁉️
Address📍: Lorong S2, Kampung Parit 10, Sg Hj Dorani, 45300 Sungai Besar, Selangor Darul Ehsan, West Malaysia
Nata De Coco 🌴 Factory
She 👩🏻 has learnt that nata is actually coconut 🌴 fibers layer by layer to accumulate for its standard thickness of 1 to 1.5cm either a min of 7 days or max of 14 days
It’s a 💯% manual human efforts required to ensure successful fiber layering, the raw nata actually sourish
In this connection, need to place the nata in water 💧💦 for 1 to 2 days to remove ❌ its sourish taste
Must buy from here❓⁉️
Of course‼️ The nata in strawberry 🍓 , mangoes 🥭 , lychee, grape 🍇 flavours etc. just RM10.90 for 3️⃣ containers
Also the virgin coconut oil produced for its good 👍🏻 health benefits & skincare. RM25 a bottle
She 👩🏻 was told from the briefing that a spoon 🥄 daily to ensure for general health
