Yeahโผ๏ธ SiennyLovesDrawing ๐ฉ๐ป had a short vacation ๐ซ recently to Phatthalung เธเธฑเธเธฅเธธเธ of Southern Thailand ๐น๐ญ It’s just approximately 2๏ธโฃ hours road journey ๐๐ from Hatyai ๐น๐ญ
So, what’s the exciting places ๐๐ in Phatthalungโโ๏ธ
Here you go, she is gonna sharing ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐ about the 6๏ธโฃ must-do experiences ๐๐ป๐๐ปfrom her recent travel journey ๐๐ถ๐งข๐
1. Canoeing Rafting @ Longkang Chowdaw
Amazing colourful ๐๐๐ canoeing ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ rafting ๐ฆ๐ง with green nature ๐๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ณ surroundings at both sides of the river ๐ฆ๐ง~ Nan Mot Daeng, Pah Phayom district, Phatthalung province. The river water ๐ฆ๐งjust so cooling & crystal ๐ clear which SiennyLovesDrawing ๐ฉ๐ป has observed fishes ๐๐ & seaweeds ๐ฟ๐ฟ from above the water ๐ฆ๐งduring her canoeing journey ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐
Hmm…Nan Mot Daengโโ๏ธ What it meansโโ๏ธ
She has asked the local people ๐น๐ญ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ & was explained that in local Thai dialect
- โNanโ means โKaengโ i.e. rapids
- โMot Daengโ means red ants ๐
According to the local Thai people ๐น๐ญ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ here, Nan Mot Daeng is a never-ending source for fishes ๐๐ Once they got the fish ๐ฃ, they would cut the head & tail of the fish ๐ Then, the smell of the fish ๐ will attract numerous red ants ๐ to feast on itย ๐ In this connection, the origin of the name โNan Mot Daengโ ๐
The rafting ๐ฆ๐งdistance of approximately 6๏ธโฃkm i.e. 2๏ธโฃhours in total. She has enjoyed with friends ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ the canoeing ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ along the narrow stream through about 4๏ธโฃ0๏ธโฃrapids with the difficulty between Levels 1๏ธโฃ to 3๏ธโฃ Not to worry as she was without great canoeing ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ skill & yet she really had great fun ๐๐ป๐ Really highly recommended ๐๐ป & not to be missed ya ๐คฉ๐
At some strong currents flowing ๐ฆ๐ง if the canoes were ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ being flipped upside-down โ๏ธ๐๐ are considered normal, yes โ , it forms part of the fun ๐คฃ๐
Guess whatโโ๏ธ
In the middle of the river ๐ฆ๐ง, you may stop ๐โ by for resting at a local 7-11 stall ๐ She has enjoyed a local berries ๐๐
You may enjoy canoeing ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ปโโ๏ธ rafting here all year long, no specific season, however if raining ๐งโ๏ธ season, the water ๐ฆ๐ง level will be higher & certain rapids would be rougher to enjoy the excitement ๐คฃ๐
You may consider here for hotel accommodation ๐ก๐ก๐๐ฟ๐ฝSiennyLovesDrawing ๐ฉ๐ป has enjoyed a comfy stay here with friends ๐ญ๐ญ
Not to be missedโผ๏ธ Definitely 1๏ธโฃ of the best ๐๐ป rafting experiences she had thus far ๐๐

2. Sunrise ๐ @ Sripakpra Resort Thalenoi ๐ก๐ก
Definitely worthโ๐ปan early wake up ๐ & travel to here waiting for the sunrise ๐ moment
A peaceful beautiful morning ๐ ๐ to enjoy the Thai ๐น๐ญ style porridge breakfast ๐ณ๐ฅฃโ๏ธ served here
The resort staff ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธmay demonstrate to you & its guests ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ on how this Thai ๐น๐ญ traditional huge net fishing ๐ฃ๐ย named “Yok Yor” akaย Lift net is working, do feel free ๐ to request & then experience it. For sure, you will learn more about the traditional Thai ๐น๐ญ fishermen ๐ฌ๐ฃ๐ lifestyle ๐
You may opt to stay ๐๐ฟ๐ฝ here for its quiet peaceful & beautiful ๐๐คฉ surrounding, however she ๐ฉ๐ป has yet to & hence unable to share her stay experience โบ๏ธ Perhaps her next visit to Phatthalung then โ๐ป

3. Boat Ride ๐ถ @ Thale Noi Waterfowl Park ๐ธ
Thale Noi is the largest waterfowl reserve in Thailand ๐น๐ญ & under the care responsibility by the Royal Forestry Department of Thailand ๐น๐ญ It covers 450 sqkm which consists ofย 94% land ๐ & the remaining sea water area ๐ฆ๐งย The sea ๐ is 5๏ธโฃkm wide &ย 6๏ธโฃkm long with an average depth of 1.2 m, allย covered with assorted flora e.g. lotus, bulrush, reed & grass used for thatching ๐๐ธ๐ฟ๐ฑ There are more than 187 species of waterfowls ๐ธ๐ธ, migratory & indigenous birds ๐ฆ ๐ฆ that make their home at Thale Noi
The best ๐๐ป time to study flora & fauna here would be from Oct toย March when there is an abundance of birds ๐ฆ ๐ฆ & pink lotus ๐ธ๐ธ in full bloom ๐ cover the reserve. You have to visit the villages & observe the reed mat hand ๐๐ป making etc. Do shopping ๐ for souvenirs ๐๐ The pricing ๐ฑ absolutely reasonable ๐
There is a careful control of eco-tourism in Thale Noi in order to minimize โฌ๏ธ impact on the environment because it’s the 1๏ธโฃst world ๐บ ๐ ramsar aka wetland siteย in Thailand ๐น๐ญ It aims to preserve the sustainable ecology ๐๐ as well as 1๏ธโฃ of theย most important nature study centres ๐
All tourists ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ซ can take a boat ride ๐ถ from its pier โ๏ธ & then go on 2๏ธโฃ routes;
- 1๏ธโฃst route for all tourists ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ with services provided by the Thale Noi community ๐น๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ
- 2๏ธโฃnd route for the academics & nature study by requesting permission โ & guide from the reserve official ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ

4. Boat Cruising ๐ถ in Tham Nam Yen Cave ๐, Khao Chaison เนเธเธฒเธเธฑเธขเธชเธย
A new ๐ tourist destination ๐ at Khao Chaison & was told it opens for tourists ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ since 2๏ธโฃ years ago
This cave ๐ visit must use a boat ๐ถ for 4๏ธโฃ pax each as the tourists ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ need to lying down on the boat ๐ถ during the cave ๐ visit due to the narrow cave space at certain parts within the cave โบ๏ธ
There are many fruit bats ๐ฆ๐ฆ inside this cave, not to worry as the bats do not disturb the tourists ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ซ from her recent cave exploration journey ๐๐ป๐
A must visit to enjoy this beautiful natural cave ๐ย Boat ๐ถ & cave admissionย feesย ๐ย are required. You may provide tipping ๐ฐ for the boat guides ๐ถ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ for their ๐๐ป boat skills for your safe narrow cave visiting
Hmm…During her visit, she noted that the boat guides ๐ถ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ here only speaking a little English, in fact very limited. Hence, suggest foreign tourists to have a Thai & English speaking tour guide ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ to accompany your cave ๐ visit, then you will get the tour explanation clearly & learn better about this beautiful ๐๐คฉ cave ๐ from the Thai-English translation
