The 8 Wonders of Johor!

Still remember 💭 Johor state, Malaysia 🇲🇾 is the 1️⃣st state that SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 received an exclusive 1st media invitation from Tourism Johor in the beginning of her lifestyle blogging 👩🏻‍💻📝journey, then subsequently a few more. A special thank you 🙏🏻& great appreciation for the trust🤝

Hmm…Where are the 8️⃣ wonders recently visited by SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 at Johor ~ the Southern gateway into Malaysia 🇲🇾 ❓⁉️

(i) Zeromile aka Kilometre Zero0️⃣

What’s it meant for❓⁉️

It’s also written as KM0️⃣ i.e. a particular location📍usually a country’s capital city 🌆🏙 from which the distances are traditionally measured🔢 Historically, they were markers📍where drivers 🚗🚕🚙🚌🚚🚐 could set their odometers to follow the directions in the early days😄

For West Malaysia 🇲🇾, this monument 0️⃣ is located right in front of the Johor Bahru General Post Office 📮 at Jalan Ibrahim Sultan. It’s 1️⃣ of the rare cases where the zeromile 0️⃣ is not located at the country’s capital city🤗

Photo 23-04-2018, 6 17 23 PM.jpg

It has been designated as the JB city’s starting point 0️⃣ since 1974

Address📍: Right in front of the Johor Bahru General Post Office📮, Jalan Ibrahim Sultan, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, West Malaysia

(ii) Sultan Ismail Building 🏢

This is Malaysia 🇲🇾’s 1️⃣st experiential Parliament 🏢 & open to the public 😄

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is really impressed 😍🤩 & truly appreciate the different architectural designs of this building 🏢 from her recent 1️⃣st visit. The architecture of this building is uniquely Johor-Malay & yet infused with a strong Moorish-Andalusian elements to create a unique style 👍🏻👏🏻 This symbolises the balance of authority & a family friendly at Johor state of Malaysia 🇲🇾

  • The jewel / diamond 💎 (Jauhar in Arabic) ~ where name of Johor has derived
  • The pineapple 🍍 & black pepper ~ Johor’s economic prosperity
  • The pineapple 🍍 skylight ~ openness & transparency
  • Newell knobs with stylised black pepper vines ~ Johor’s past economic prosperity
  • Traditional Malay carving & abstract designs

Fact learnt ~ Crocodile 🐊 egg 🥚 with low ⬇️ cholesterol even though 80% of it is egg yolk‼️😲

You will definitely enjoying this video clip 📹🎥 captured ya

However, she dares not hold 🤗 the crocodile 🐊🐊(even baby crocodile 🐊) up close 😬🙄 for a photo 📸 like what most of her media friends 👬👭👫 did. Don’t ask why ya❓⁉️

  1. I love the batik painting activity. Looks so pretty! When it comes to food I’m not that adventurous all the more when I travel. My stomach just can’ take too much. You seemed to enjoy some new cuisine. I’m intrigued with the crocodile farm! I think my kids would like to see that one day.

  2. Gosh! It will surely be an eventful day to visit Johor. I would sure love to try my hand in batik painting even when my painting skills are dismal! I also would definitely enjoy visiting each of these attractions you’ve been in and sample their sumptuous dishes, too! Oh, and did I mention, I could also use some of those ice candies in this very hot day! 🙂

Hopefully, I can visit Johor one day with my family!

  6. Wow! What a comprehensive review of Johor. I have never been despite growing up in KL…. so sad right?? Maybe when I’m in Singapore next I’ll hop over and check things out. I don’t live in Malaysia anymore so when I see some of the food pics, I get really homesick! Bet that Asam batang ice cream was delicious!
