#TravelogueMalaysia: Day 3 @ Pangkor Island

Hmm…After checked-out, where next❓⁉️

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 has travelled to Teluk Dalam, Pangkor 🏖🏝& checked-in to D’Kampung Guest House 🏠🌊 with her awesome writers gang👭👬👫

This was her favourite ❤️ stay among all the accommodations 🛌🛀🏻🚿 during this 5️⃣D4️⃣N trip🎒🕶🧢👟

It’s a new 🆕 guest house 🏠🌊& was just launched on 2️⃣ March, do refer link for the recent launch 🎉🎊 updates from the guest house’s owner 🙋🏽‍♂️ personal FB account

SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 was really impressed 😍🤩 with the beautiful sea view 🌊 of this 2️⃣-storey guest house 🏠

Ha…Ha…A short clip 📹🎥 captured during the lunch🍽🍴

Yeah‼️ Time for a tourist motorcycle 🏍 🏍 island 🏖🏝tour 😃

Highly recommended 👍🏻👆🏻to rent a motorcycle 🏍 (very reasonable charges) to explore Pangkor Island 🏝🏖during your stay. It’s a small island 🏝🏖 with its circle ⭕️ road of approximately 1️⃣8️⃣km. Hmm…just that at certain part, the circle ⭕️ road is quite narrow & sometimes steep. Just don’t speed, safety 1️⃣st ya😊

So, where were the places visited❓⁉️

Dutch 🇳🇱 Fort

Known locally as Kota Belanda 🇳🇱 in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language, with free 🆓 admission🎟

IMG_5064.jpg

This fort was built by the Dutch 🇳🇱 in 1670 with its original aim as storage & protection of tin supplies that came from the Sultanate of Perak. It was destroyed in 1690 & then was rebuilt in 1743 by the Dutch😉

IMG_5051.jpg

Don’t forget to read 📖 the signage which explains the history of this Dutch 🇳🇱 Fort during your visit😀

Historic Rock/ Tiger 🐅🐯 Rock

Known locally as Batu Bersurat in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language, with free 🆓 admission🎟

IMG_5077.jpg

On this huge rock, you will observe the sketches of a child 👶🏻 being mauled by a tiger 🐅 🐯 Once said more in depth, this boy 🧒🏻 was an offspring of a Dutch 🇳🇱 dignitary who was playing by the rock, but was sadly harassed by a tiger 🐅 🐯 The tiger 🐅🐯 seemed to be toying with the little child 🧒🏻 & this sacred rock is engraved with drawings of it😉

It was dated back in 1743 & is currently protected under a roof. Behind it with a beautiful seaside view ya🏖🏝🌊

Hornbill 🐦 Feeding 🍌

It’s hornbills 🐦🐦‼️Wow‼️

SiennyLovesDrawing’s 👩🏻 1️⃣st attempt for hornbills 🐦🐦 feeding 🍌 She appreciates the clear guidance from the chalet owner, En Din 🙋🏽‍♂️ as known locally👍🏻

IMG_5361.jpg

En Din 🙋🏽‍♂️has been feeding 🍌🍌the hornbills 🐦🐦 for more than 1️⃣3️⃣ years, he told that hornbills’ 🐦 instinct very sharp, they will come by during sunset 🌅 approximately 6.30pm daily

IMG_5292.jpg

Guess what❓⁉️

It’s free 🆓 for hornbills 🐦🐦 feeding🍌, regardless whether you are his chalet guests

Hmm…Let’s bring some bananas 🍌🍌/ contribute a small sum 💰to En Din 🙋🏽‍♂️during your hornbills 🐦🐦 feeding 🍌

Sunset 🌅 @ Turtle 🐢 Bay

Known locally as Teluk Ketapang & sandwiched between the 2️⃣ more well-known beaches 🏖🏝 i.e. Pasir Bogak & Nipah 🌴 Bay, no accommodation available ❌🏢🏘 as observed 👀 here

It’s a great 👍🏻 spot for sunset 🌅 viewing for the Straits of Malacca 🌊 & swimming 🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻‍♂️

Beautiful sunset 🌅 group photo by @amediartist

She was told during May to July, if lucky 🍀 perhaps get to view turtles 🐢 🐢 coming ashore 🏝 to lay eggs 🥚🥚 here

Then, return to guest house 🏠 , shower 🚿🧖🏻‍♀️🛀🏻, relaxing 😌 & then enjoyed BBQ dinner 🍽🍴

Another comfy night 🌃🌌 stay 😴💤❗️

    1. Ha…Ha…Can’t help my lovessss to emojisss 🤣🤣 It’s quite budget friendly especially for solo travellers or backpackers, plenty of budget accommodations with complimentary breakfast available for choice. You may opt to have local foods at hawkers stalls or cafes instead of restaurants too 😉☺️ My recommendation to have a whole island travel perhaps 4 to 5 days without rushing & to enjoy this relaxing island 😃😁 Or if your leave application permits, do stay longer ya 😊🤗

  1. Malaysia is one of the places I wish to see. But unfortunately, it seems I simply can’t get a chance to finally do that. Love the view of the guesthouse and the floating mosque is incredible. A very nice review and love your writing style too.

  2. Wow, this might be a small Island, but it offers a lo of stunning scenery with all the amazing activities to try. I’m glad that you have suggested to ride a motorcycle when exploring Pangkor Island, and this I guess the best part when I amble around this Island. I haven’t been to Malaysia yet, and will surely include this in my itinerary. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  3. You mean that Rock with the kid’s drawing was preserved for years? That alone is an interesting fact. All the more that draws me to consider visiting the place. The only thing that i remember when we visited Malaysia was the chocolate house. Ihihi.

  4. Loved the little tidbits of info that you included in the post. 🙂 was especially fascinated with the story about the tiger and the dutch boy- horrifying but still interesting. never been to malaysia and you made this come alive for me. And the view at your hotel looked amazing. 🙂

  5. That house looks so cozy! Which of the locations would you say is your favorite? For me it has to be the floating mosque – it has great scenery and architecture in one. The food looks so yummy it makes me drool :p

    1. Ha…Ha…I meant the guest house that I stay i.e. D’kampung Guest House because of its beautiful view from my room. 6. Wow, you went to quite a lot of places for a day’s trip. It would have been tiring, but great travel companions make for a less tiring trip. Especially when you’re all having fun. The time just passes by and before you know it, the day is over but your heart is full of happiness and beauty at the adventure you had with friends. 🙂

    1. Yeah! Not so tiring as you noticed from the details of each destination shared, some are located quite close to each other or along the same road 🙂 Still all right overall 🙂 Yeah!! With a group of amazing people, your trip definitely worth much more because of the great friendship & companion 🙂 I am blessed I have a great writers gang to travel with 😀
