Yeah‼️ This round, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 is gonna sharing about her recent eco tourism trip to Pulau Kukup 🌴& Tanjung Piai 🌿 The 2️⃣ of the Johor National Parks located at Southern Johor of West Malaysia 🇲🇾

Pulau Kukup Johor National Park

As shared in earlier blog post📝, Pulau Kukup 🌴 is just 2️⃣0️⃣km away from her stay at Aloha Hotel Pontian🏢 So, after breakfast🍽☕️, SiennyLovesDrawing 👩🏻 & her writers gang 👫👭👬departed with Sitty Travel 🚐 to jetty ⚓️ (shown in photo below, yes, it’s through this seafood 🐟🦐🦀🐙🦑restaurant🍽🍴)

Then, a short boat 🚤 ride (2️⃣0️⃣mins, RM5️⃣/pax for return trip 🚤🚤 & free 🆓 for kids below 6 years old 👶🏻👧🏻🧒🏻👦🏻) to Pulau Kukup 🌴

Arrived & enjoyed a slight sweaty 😅morning 🔆🔅 2️⃣km mangroves trail walk 🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️here😀

Yeah‼️ The highest 👆🏻stilt roots & largest Hibrid Mangrove in Malaysia 🇲🇾

Yeah‼️ Time for lunch 🍽🍴1️⃣st before the next destination of the day❗️😄

Hmm…Where❓⁉️

It’s at Johor Riau Restaurant 🍽🍴which served Malay seafood 🦀🦐🦑🐙🐟cuisine with Johor style😋🤤

Wow‼️Many many seafood 🦀🦑🐙🦐🐟 dishes served‼️SiennyLovesDrawing’s 👩🏻 happy face 😁 as a food lover 😋🤤 Ha…Ha…

All dishes were so fresh & delicious👍🏻, highly recommended 👆🏻to dine 🍽 here if you are on your way to visit Tanjung Piai🌿

Why❓⁉️

It’s just so so near to it, or should say you will definitely passby Johor Riau on your way to Tanjung Piai🌿

Photo 28-01-2018, 3 05 03 PM.jpg

She learnt that as Johor tradition, almost all Johor restaurants 🍽🍴especially seafood 🦀🦑🐙🦐🐟restaurants will definitely served Horseshoe Crab aka Belangkas in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 national language

Curious about how it looks like❓⁉️Do stay tune for her next post 👩🏻‍💻📝where she will be sharing her visit to horseshoe crab conservation centre😉

Photo 28-01-2018, 3 06 07 PM.jpg

It’s her 1️⃣st time to taste horseshoe crab & she loves 💗 it❗️Johor Riau served it in “lemak cili padi🌶” (Malaysia’s 🇲🇾 national language) cooking style👨🏻‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳

Guess what❓⁉️

There is no crab meat to enjoy, instead enjoy the delicious crunchy 😋🤤 crab roes/ eggs of it🙂

Photo 28-01-2018, 1 11 49 PM.jpg

Another dish that she loves 💗 from Johor Riau is the seafood otak-otak (another signature Johor dish) served here👆🏻👍🏻

It’s so delicious with its unique Johor recipe with dried coconut 🥥 🌴 in it. A mouthful of light coconut 🥥 fragrant blended well with the fresh seafood 🦐🐟 ingredients❗️Tastebud satisfied❗️😃

Photo 28-01-2018, 1 13 19 PM.jpg

How about other seafood 🦀🦑🐙🦐🐟 dishes enjoyed❓⁉️

  • Soup Riau 🍲 (served with crabs🦀 )
  • Spicy 🌶 sour fish 🐟 (aka “ikan asam pedas” in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language)
  • Spices cooked snails 🐌 (aka siput sedut berempah)
  • Black pepper clams
  • Malay style salad 🥗 aka ulam
  • Fish 🐟 served in “Bebotok” style

Do enjoy a short clip 📹🎥 captured from her Johor style seafood 🦑🐙🦐🦀🐟 dining 🍽🍴here ☺️

Hmm…Hope you all don’t craving 🤤🤤 for seafood 🦑🐙🦐🦀🐟 after watching 👀👁👁 ya

Address📍: J48, Tanjung Piai, 82300 Kukup, Johor, West Malaysia

Operating hours🕚: 11am to 12am daily, except ⛔️ Monday

Yeah‼️ After a satisfied 😃👍🏻😋delicious lunch🍽🍴, happily travelling 🚐 to…

Tanjung Piai 🌿National Park

Wow‼️ This welcome landmark monument made of eco-friendly fibre reinforced concrete with 2️⃣0️⃣m height & 🔟m width. Its stark grey ◻️ colour represents the rich mangroves & mudflats of Tanjung Piai🌿

1️⃣st photo 📸 captured before another eco walk🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️here

Photo 28-01-2018, 2 50 55 PM.jpg

Hmm…Why Piai❓⁉️

It’s named after a local fern 🌿 plant aka Paku Piai 🌿 in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language. This plant is capable of living in brackish water conditions i.e. scattered in this park🙂

Tanjung Piai 🌿 is the southern most point of Peninsular Malaysia 🇲🇾 & the southern most tip of Mainland Asia 🌎too with the borders of shorelines of Malaysia 🇲🇾 , Indonesia 🇮🇩 & Singapore 🇸🇬

Lots of tourists 👫👭👬 travelling to here, just to capture a photo 📸 with this globe 🌐 shaped monument & plaque which marked the southernmost point😍

Photo 28-01-2018, 2 29 07 PM.jpg

Guess what❓⁉️

Tanjung Piai 🌿 as a coastal mangrove also being granted in Jan 2003 with the status🎖of an internationally important Ramsar Convention site👏🏻

It has high socio-economic value for fisheries 🐟🐟 especially mudskippers aka ikan belacak in Malaysia’s 🇲🇾national language😀

Photo 28-01-2018, 11 50 06 AM.jpg

The national park officers 👩🏻‍💼👨🏻‍💼shared about the breeding story of mudskippers🐟. Apparently the male 🚹🐟 mudskippers need to build a mud house 🏠 (refer photo 📸 below) to attract the female 🚺🐟mudskippers. Ha…Ha…Interesting facts learnt😅😂🤣
