Amazing Beautiful Southern Thailand

Yeahโ€ผ๏ธSiennyLovesDrawing๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป really feeling blessed๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™ to be exclusively invited๐Ÿ“ฉ๐Ÿ“ง๐Ÿ’Œ to be part of the media team๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“for Southern Peace Media Club (SPMC) of Thailand๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ in Oct๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Guess  whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

It’s her 1๏ธโƒฃst international travel collaboration, bravo on her achievementโ—๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปThis definitely a money can’t buy recognition to her blogging๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“ passionโ˜บ๏ธ

Still remembered๐Ÿค”she departed from KL, Malaysia๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ at 9๏ธโƒฃam with comfy bus๐ŸšŒfrom Smile Vision Holidays & Khalifakota Travel (whole trip management๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป) approximately 8๏ธโƒฃhours road trip & arrived Betong Boarding Post at 5.15pm (Thai๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญlocal time 4.15pm).

How did she spent her time during the long journeyโ“โ‰๏ธ

Ha…Ha…She slept๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ’คcomfortably with her hoodie on๐Ÿ™‚

Collected her media tag prepared by SPMC (special thank you๐Ÿ™for all great hospitality throughout this memorable media trip) when she 1๏ธโƒฃst met the complete media team from Malaysia๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ& Thailand๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ

This media trip covers 4๏ธโƒฃmajor provinces of Southern Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ i.e. Yala, Narathiwat, Songkla & Pattani

SiennyLovesDrawing๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปis gonna sharing here about her favourite places visited

The Sea Of Mist @ Iyerweng

Yeahโ€ผ๏ธGot a privilege to visit a new tourist spot i.e. The Sea of Mist @ Iyerweng๐Ÿ˜

It is located in Than Mali village of subdistrict named Aiyoe Weng of Betong District in Yala Province ๐Ÿ˜€

Wowโ€ผ๏ธAbove sea level of 2,038m on the Gunung Silipat (Microwave Mountain)โ›ฐ

Secret sharing with you all that a skywalk๐ŸŒwill be built to welcome all tourists๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ

Waited for sunrise๐ŸŒ…& enjoyed the nice cooling๐ŸŒฌbreeze cum awesome beautiful view of mist๐ŸŒซ (Ohh…really worth her superb early waking up that morning๐Ÿคฉ)

You will definitely snap lots of photosss๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ“ฑ, videosss๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ, boomerangsss๐Ÿ“ฒ, selfiesss ๐Ÿคณ, wefiesss with friends ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌ

Then, enjoyed your breakfast ๐Ÿฝ with the beautiful mist๐ŸŒซ view nearby too

A must visit when you visit Southern Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ~ Betong district

How to get thereโ“โ‰๏ธ

You may either engage a driver๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš™ to take Highway No. 410 Betong-Yala to intersection at KM33 & go along road entrance to Than Mali village, then drive up the hillโ›ฐfor about 7๏ธโƒฃkm

Or contact Yala Tourism & Sport Office at โ˜Ž๏ธ๐Ÿ“ž๐Ÿ“ฑ073-213722

There will be a new domestic airport๐Ÿ›ฌ๐Ÿ›ซin Betong too, currently still in its construction๐Ÿ—in progress & estimated will be ready by July 2019๐Ÿ˜Š

The world ๐ŸŒŽ ๐Ÿ—บ largest Thai๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ Post๐Ÿ“ฎโ“โ‰๏ธ Nope, tallest to be exact

It is located at the Bell ๐Ÿ›Ž Tower intersection of Betong. It was built in 1924 before World War II as the communication post for the Thai ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ locals, through the radio implanted on top of the box & the below mail slot. At present, a new mailbox๐Ÿ“ฎhad been built in a larger size (9๏ธโƒฃm tall) & is located at the City Convention Hall i.e. Sala Prachakhom & it attracts a large number of tourists who come to visit & snap photos๐Ÿ“ธ

Ha…Ha…It has been erroneously given the title of the “worldโ€™s ๐Ÿ—บ ๐ŸŒŽ largest” by at least some of the Thai ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ locals here. Itโ€™s not, however, the “largest”, which was credited in 2012 by the Guinness Book of World Records to the mailbox๐Ÿ“ฎat Ube City at Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต, due to its capacity of 68.484 cubic meters of lettersโœ‰๏ธ & postcards๐Ÿž. Accurately, it is the largest mailbox๐Ÿ“ฎ in Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ

Oppss….SiennyLovesDrawing๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป doesn’t manage to send a postcard๐Ÿž from here (Sigh…wasted the golden chance though…moreover she loves๐Ÿ’— postcardsss๐Ÿž…cry cry๐Ÿ˜ญ…)

The clock๐Ÿ•™ tower of Betong District

Mosque๐Ÿ•Œ without nails & screws, amazing!!

It is Taloh Manoh Mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ aka Masjid Wadil-Husen because being pioneered by Wan Husen Us-Sanavi, the author of the handwritten๐Ÿ–‹Al-Quran๐Ÿ“–. It located in Bacho District of Narathiwat Province

More than 300 years, it was traditionally built using old building tools e.g. hopea tree๐ŸŒณ , local timber named Mai Takien with wooden bolts & pins. It consists of 2๏ธโƒฃ adjacent buildings built in a mixture of local Thai ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ, Chinese (its top dome is similar to a Chinese pavilion) & Malay architectural styles.

Do enjoy a video clip ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅby Dboy Studio, a media member from this trip๐Ÿ˜Š

SiennyLovesDrawing & her media friends๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ‘ฌwere on a tram ๐Ÿš‹ with the Thai๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญpolice ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿป escort (She felt like a superb VVIP๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜) in discovering the city ๐ŸŒ‡, mosques ๐Ÿ•Œ & its Chinatown โ›ฉ of Pattani Province

Do enjoy the free๐Ÿ†“ city tour by tram๐Ÿš‹. There are 6๏ธโƒฃ times a day i.e. 9๏ธโƒฃam, ๐Ÿ”Ÿam, 1๏ธโƒฃ1๏ธโƒฃam, 1๏ธโƒฃpm, 2๏ธโƒฃpm & 3๏ธโƒฃpm from the old city wall/ museum. Each takes about 4๏ธโƒฃ5๏ธโƒฃmins.

Pattani Central Mosque๐Ÿ•Œ

This is 1๏ธโƒฃ of the most beautiful mosque๐Ÿ•Œ in Thailand๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ built in 1954 with 9๏ธโƒฃyears of construction.

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

With its big dome in the centre, 4๏ธโƒฃ surrounding small domes with minarets & a big pond right in front of the mosque, its architecture quite western style & with a similarity to the famous Taj Mahal of India๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ . Don’t you think soโ“๐Ÿค”

The graveyard of Lim To Khiengโ€™s poor sisterโ“

Photo 31-10-2017, 6 29 22 PM.jpg

Hmm…Who is Lim To Khiengโ“โ‰๏ธ

From SiennyLovesDrawing’s ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป further reading ๐Ÿ“– after the trip, apparently he is one of the famous foreigner in Southern Thailand๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญwith a story though…๐Ÿค“

It set in a small very kitsch Chinese garden with a sitting area, well looked after

This is 1๏ธโƒฃ of the popular destinations for Chinese ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ & Malaysian ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ tourists๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

His sister named Lim Ko Niao was upset๐Ÿ˜ขas her brother, Lim To Khieng didn’t keep his promise to return to China๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ . Hence, she hung herself on the cashew nut tree๐ŸŒฒ & then being buried here by her brother๐Ÿ˜” ๐Ÿ˜ž

The Pattani’s Thai๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ locals built this place as a shrineโ›ฉto commemorate her & carved the tree ๐ŸŒฒwhere she hung herself in the shape of her figure

SiennyLovesDrawing๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has paid her respect๐Ÿ™ during her visiting here

Lim To Khiengโ€™s half built mosque ๐Ÿ•Œโ“? (aka Krue Se Mosque)

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

It located right beside his sister’s graveyard

This mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ is said to have been built during the reign of King Naresuan the Great (1578 – 1593)

Its most important element i.e. its large & domed roof,  however was never completed in its construction. It was reportedly because of a power struggle between the Sultan of Pattani & his brother at the time of construction๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

It was also once said it was being cursed by Lim Ko Niao, hence even with many attempts, construction never able to be completed๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ง

Samila Beach ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–

Love ๐Ÿ’• ๐Ÿ’— the clean beach ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ– here

It is a must landmark for the Songkhla Mermaid ๐Ÿงœโ€โ™€๏ธ aka Golden Mermaid ๐Ÿงœโ€โ™€๏ธ statute & officially named as Nang Nguek Thong, whenever visiting to Songkhla Province

This bronze statue was created by Chirt Buabutr, a former director of Poh Chang School of Arts, Bangkok in 1966 at a cost of 6๏ธโƒฃ0๏ธโƒฃk Thai baht. It actually followed the example of  the famed Little Mermaid ๐Ÿงœโ€โ™€๏ธ statute in Copenhagen, Denmark i.e. its city’s symbol since 1913.

She observed that this statute is with flower garlands from the Thai๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ locals as they believe their prayers๐Ÿ™to her were answered. It was once reported in Thailand news ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ—ž๐Ÿ“ฐthat it was never intended for prayers๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Would like to share a live recording๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ with SiennyLovesDrawing’s ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป short interview at NBT Yala, a Thai ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญTV channel (Note: In Bahasa Melayu, without English subtitles)

Sharing here a nice video๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŽฅ recorded by the media team from Bernama News Channel (Note: In Bahasa Melayu, without English subtitles)

Hmm…SiennyLovesDrawing๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป is gonna blogging๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“separately about her Southern Thai ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญfoods๐Ÿฅ˜๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜‹journey then

Sneak peak of her food blogging๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“ including dinner @Tuan Kitchen๐Ÿฝrestaurant with Betong special cum favourite cuisines ~ Ayam Betong๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“ & Cha Koi with pandan kaya etc. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Do stay tune ya๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹
